Lyan
My head was killing me. No matter how much I turned I still felt uneasy and the brutal headache I had didn't make things better.
I groaned and turned again, really thinking about getting out of bed and asking the guys for a pain reliever, but before I could do that an earthy smell wafted into my nose and the pain dwindled. The more time it went by the less I felt the pain, until I didn't feel it anymore, but I also couldn't move my body anymore. I began to panic. Why couldn't I move?
From outside my room I heard voices which weren't from my guys. I was powerless to stop them as they entered. They picked my unresponsive body from the bed and lifted me up, all the while Fluffy looked at me with what I could have sworn was a grin. All I could hope for was that the guys had heard something. I tried to scream with all my strength, but not a sound came out.
I heard the kidnappers chuckle and then it all went white.
Jack
I was always the first one to get up. Mostly because my nightmares didn't let me sleep, but also because I liked seeing the sun come out.
I got up from my bed and began moving towards the kitchen to make some pancakes. I loved the way Lyan moaned when she took a bite of them. It sent shivers down my body.
I was walking through the corridor to get to the lower floor when I realized Lyan's door was wide open. Weird, she liked her privacy.
Curiosity took the better of me and I approached her door. I peeked inside and immediately panicked. Lyan was nowhere to be seen.
" Come here right now!!!" I screamed, calling Orus and Mark to where I was.
They appeared in a matter of seconds. Orus had his claws ready and Mark already had his daggers in hand.
" Why'd you call us?"
Before I could answer Orus Mark's eyes sparked and I was face to face with Oscar, who simply pointed to the bed and looked at me as if I was his newest victim.
" Make a tracking spell." He ordered me, but he wasn't the boss of me. Besides that spell was dark magic and if the academy or literally anyone found out I would be sent to jail.
I trusted Oscar and Orus, I really did. Oscar and Orus were like my brothers, not by blood but by choice and I knew they wouldn't tattle on me. Still I hesitated. That was when Oscar grabbed me by the collar and slammed my head into the wall.
" Do it now" He said in a deep voice. I understood his concern. I was worried too, but he didn't have to use violence.
Orus looked shocked but he didn't intervene as I got up and freed myself from Oscar's hold.
Without further delay I started on the tracking spell. The ingredients I needed were fairly easy to obtain and I had them all ready in a few minutes.
Once I had the spell ready I cast it and I watched as the aether gathered in my hands. The black aether went from my hands to the door and then disappeared into the lower floor.
We followed the aether as it moved, getting further and further away from the house. The spell led us into the forest, going deeper and deeper. We continued following it, making our own path through the deep bushes.
Orus had his ears pricked, listening to every sound, but he couldn't hear Lyan anywhere. Oscar and I were looking around, trying to find any clue that could tell us where she was, but Lyan was nowhere to be found.
I was beginning to panic. What if they had killed her? Cold sweat ran all over my spine. I turned to look at Orus and saw him panicking too. That wasn't good.
Orus suddenly took off and began running towards where the aether was gathering. Oscar and I followed him, running as fast as we could.
When we stopped I saw the aether gathering around a group of people, and they were carrying something. The moment they sensed us they dropped the body to the ground and turned to look at us. They were demons. Their horns and red skin made them easy to recognize.
The moment they saw us they launched at us. Orus moved as fast as the wind and in a split second he slashed a demon's throat. There was blood everywhere. It was soaking the forest floor and making it turn black.
The rest of the demons came at us. Oscar dropped to a fighting stance and laughed as he ripped a demon's head off. That second of distraction cost me dearly. A demon tackled me to the ground, and I hit the forest floor hard. Blood pooled beneath my head and I began feeling lightheaded. I was sure I had a concussion.
The demon straddled me, dagger hovering above my heart. I managed to stop it, but he was strong, too strong. I was using up all my strength just by stopping him. I thrashed, trying to get him off of me, but the bastard wouldn't bulge. I knew I had no way of winning this, unless I played dirty. I loved playing dirty.
I looked him in the eye and using my sweetest voice I said.
" Get off of me"
The demon got a cold glossy look in his eyes and obeyed me. He got up and looked at the nothingness, awaiting my next orders.
" Stab yourself" I whispered.
The demon took back his dagger, the one he'd dropped while under my control and drove it through his heart. His limp body went down to the floor, blood pooling underneath him.
I looked around and saw Orus and Oscar were back to back, fighting against five other opponents. In my sweetest voice I looked three of them in the eyes and said.
" Stop" They stopped immediately. Mark and Orus relaxed.
I told the demons that I now controlled to kill their companions, who were still fighting against Orus and Oscar.
The demons under my control started attacking their friends. One of my demons managed to decapitate another one before they realized what was happening. Once they did they started fighting back.
Their weapons clashed against one another and blood poured out from their wounds. Orus and Oscar joined in on the fight and began slashing at them. The winner was already decided. All the attacking demons were dead.
I looked at the demons I controlled in the eyes and in a voice loud enough for them to hear I said.
" Kill yourselves" The demons headed my orders and stabbed themselves.
We all smiled as we walked to where Lyan was. She was unconscious on the ground, but luckily she wasn't harmed, she was just out of it. I picked her up in between my arms. She was so lightweight I didn't even feel her in my arms. I'd have to feed her more pancakes in the future to fatten her up.
I walked back to the mansion not looking back and trusting that Oscar and Orus would deal with the corpses just as they usually did.
It didn't take them long to clean up and catch up to me. Orus and Oscar were both covered in blood. Oscar was playing with some eyes, using them as marbles. He was unhinged, but sometimes unhinged was good.
I laid Lyan on her bed and cast a healing spell. The spell didn't do jack shit, but I'd expected it. She wasn't hurt, just drugged, and magic didn't heal that.
We all watched Lyan's chest go up and down. I was so relieved she was back that I could just lay on the floor and pass out, and maybe the fact that it was almost 7:00 didn't help.
We were all staring at Lyan when Fluffy appeared from under the bed.
" Where were you?" Oscar all but growled.
Fluffy just tilted his head and for a second I saw him open his mouth to form a creepy smile.
" What do you know?" I confronted Oscar, but as expected he just chuckled and petted Fluffy.
" Next time protect her" Oscar's voice was as sweet as sugar. That was when he was the most dangerous. The more calm and the softer he spoke the more pissed he was and the higher the chance he'd just murder anything in his sight.
Fluffy just ran away from Oscar and hid in between Lyan's arms.
" You're not gonna tell us, right?" I asked him.
" You'll know in due time" Oscar was back to his usual voice, which was a relief.
" Why do we even try to talk to you?" Orus threw his arms into the air and after checking on Lyan one last time he left the room.
" You know why this happened, don't you?"
" Of course I do. I know everything" He didn't, but I wanted answers, so I shut up. " And you're not one to talk. You also keep secrets"
" Like what?" I crossed my arms, trying to look calm, but I was sure he could hear my heartbeat. My palms were sweaty and my heart was beating so hard I thought it was going to burst out of my chest. He couldn't know, right?
" Nothing" Oscar shrugged, but the gleam in his eyes told me he knew. Fuck. I'd have to murder him. I was going to miss him, but nothing was gonna stop me. I hid my hands behind my back and gathered aether in them. Enough to kill someone with just a touch.
" Relax" Oscar's hands were on my shoulder in seconds " I know how to keep a secret, and as long as it doesn't have to do with Lyan I don't really care"
I dispelled the spell and looked him in the eyes. He was telling the truth. He had never cared about secrets, yet he was always the one that held every single one. Luckily for him I trusted him when he said he didn't care. The bastard had the same empathy and emotions as a doll, or at least that was how it used to be. With Lyan it was different, but this wasn't related to her, so he probably didn't give a shit.
" Since when have you known? And how?" I had to know how he had found out. Nobody else could know.
" You're pretty sloppy, but don't worry. I doubt anyone else will notice" Oscar threw me a smile and then he left the room, leaving me alone with my own thoughts.
