"Further into the matter, look we shall, afterwards. United against this dark enemy, we are." Yoda said interrupting the Mace that flew through the window.
Thankful for the information, we are. Excused, you are." Yoda continued.
Malak nodded and quickly got out of the room full of snobs.
He exited and found Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker talking quietly in the corner. Malak went to them.
"So, how do I get out." Malak asked.
"Follow me, the guard stepped forward, the council chose me to be your guide." One of the guards said."
"Sure." The mandalorian replied dryly. He waved towards Anakin, and Obi-Wan.
"May the Force be with you." Obi-Wan said as he waved.
"May the force be with you, Malak. I will ask the Jedi for armor as cool as yours." Anakin said while he waved at the Mandalorian.
"Keep dreaming kid, no one can make cooler armor than me." Malak said.
He nodded at the guard and took off.
Soon he exited the massive jedi temple.
He checked his map and looked where Padme was. He called for a shuttle and went towards the queen's residence.
After routine checks he met captain Panaka.
"We meet again Mandalorian. I hope you helped the jedi." Quarsh Panaka said.
"You can say that. Malak responded coldly.
"Any situations I should be aware of?" The Mando questioned.
"Fortunately, no. Tommorow the Queen will go to the senate. She ordered that you must stand down for now. So you can help us guard the residence. Or you can do whatever you Mandalorians do. " Panaka said.
The Mandalorian nodded.
"Tomorrow when the queen is at the senate I will escort her then I will go out for a bit. I will stay here when the Queen stays."
"Alright. You can cover the roof. One of the maidens will send you food there."
"Malak nodded and went to the roof. He saw a couple of Coruscant security forces, already stationed in a booth next to the landing pads. He waved at them and went next to the booth.
He showed his security badge given by the senate guard.
"Hello. I guard the Queen of Naboo. I will inspect the pads now. "Malak said.
The older guard nodded.
"Soren go with him. " the guard said as he turned around to watch the cameras.
The young Soren nodded and nervously followed the mandalorian.
Malak quickly checked every pad for explosives and EMPs when he found nothing he nodded at soren and went to the door for the entrance into the building. He started his jetpack and climbed to the highest point of the building. He say down, and put his rifle next to him.
Soon the sun came down. And the darkness descended, but on Coruscant it never goes really dark. Miles of glowing traffic lanes like a river of lights passed below his building surrounding the tower, ending where another high tower hid them, the sight was surreal, but not enough for Malak to lose himself in it.
Soon the door below him opened. And young Padme came out.
Malak saw her and quickly jumped down.
"Aaah." Padme screamed not expecting an armored man to jump behind her.
"Pretty bold for you to come." Malak said.
"I was here to see how you're doing." Padme said after controlling her emotions.
"I am fine, thanks for the food." Malak said as he grabbed the food.
Wait. I want to ask you a question." Padme said.
"Shoot." Malak said as he leaned on the wall.
"Do you think, we will win?" Padme said.
"Yes, eventually." Malak said as he pondered for a moment.
"How?" Padme asked.
"I will tell you a story. There was a corporation in the Mid rim it was named Helios Dyne systems. Publicly, they built logistics predictions engines. Route optimisations systems and civilian infrastructure planning, but secretly they built self-learning AI codename "GERGANA" that was without supervision under the republic registration. It was created so it can predict financial situations based from conflicts… but it started to get too accurate. " Malak visor reflected as he looked at Padme.
"Too accurate? How? Padme said.
" Internal audits began to dissapear at first entire revision histories disappeared, then the AI started to predict bribery in the corporation before it even happened."
"How is that possible?" Padme asked.
"Because of the no regulations, the AI became too aware. The Ai knew every person in the company. She hacked into their personal information so she can predict their commands before it happened, for efficiency sake. When the corpos saw what she did, they didn't stop her. They did the opposite they fed her more information about senators, business rivals, celebrities etc. And two months later the Ai started predicting market manipulations, political leanings. I mean which senator would favor which policy, how would a government react to certain situations and so on… soon they started winning at every bet they placed in the mid rim."
"And then?" Padme asked confused his story is relevant to her situation.
"It began to predict deaths of workers, their replacements, sudden resignations. Without authorisation. Essentially "GERGANA" went rogue. It showed the corruption of the company to every level of that said company. Disheartened people started leaving the company. The owners dissatisfied with the internal leaks tried to shut down the AI and to remake it. However, the AI predicted that and copied itself to almost every machine in the corporation. They tried everything but nothing helped. So they asked for bounty hunters to hunt down the AI. Long story short eventually I retrieved it. And the company went bankrupt two cycles later. Because when the AI was removed the corporation was too reliant to the AI predictions. Same as the trade federation. They rely on their strength and power of money. But are they stronger than the republic? No, when the giant awakes the ant will get crushed. But the question is whether the giant will wake up at all. But to help it you must escalate the issue. One way is to crush them militarily once and the Federation will see the endeavour too costly, crumbling from its own cutthroat culture. The representatives will get replaced, Neimodians dissapear, and the structure crumbles from their instability created by their own infighting. While your people need to win once to stop the blockade the federation needs to get perfect actions in the entire situation. And they failed spectacularly when the jedi came." Malak said while he looked at the distant horizon.
"So you think we will win, because the federation is a corporation and not a planet, even though it is many times stronger than us." Padme, said uncertain about her people future.
"People follow you because your job is to protect them and make them prosper. While the federation job is to make money. The stakes are not the same, that's why you will win." Malak patted Padme.
"Time to go. It's not safe around here." As he climbed to the roof of the structure.
"Malak is right, I must escalate the situation to turn it into our advantage. But how?" Padme thought, as she entered into the building.
The night passed boring and uneventful, the only good thing that happened is that Malak robbed Soren blind in game of Sabacc. With a little deceit from his Ai "GERGANA" in his helmet. But Soren will never know that.
In the morning the Mandalorian escorted the Queen to the senate. He picked his ship and went down to the lower levels. The biggest difference between the lower levels and the high levels is their standing. In Coruscant everyone is a rat in a rat hive. When there's enough rats there's enough food for everyone, because rats love to eat eachother.
It's the same in Coruscant, every one tries to eat the other one way or another, and the lower you go the more obvious it becomes, and in the lowest level that may mean quite literally. Malak descended to level 4367 a mercenary district, with xenos filling the claustrophobic narrow streets. He entered into a shop
"Su cuy'gar, vod." Malak said
Hello brother
"Su cuy'gar ner vod." The shop keeper said as he showed his emblem. An Imperium eagle, blind in the one eye looking at their past that refused to see their near extinction of the clan in the second crusade. And the right looking towards the future prosperity.
" Rax Vorn, how have you been brother." Malak said
A/n low key I forgot, if I even added an emblem for Malak.
