Chapter 69 - Shares of Totsuki (Part 4)

After finishing the transfer contracts for the businesses in Chiba, Luo Yu turned his attention to the assets located in Tokyo.

From these documents alone, he could already see what the Shinomiya family intended.

By gifting him industries in Tokyo, they were clearly trying to create opportunities to build a closer relationship with him in the future.

A great family truly missed no opportunity.

However, the moment Luo Yu opened the first page, he froze slightly, then narrowed his eyes.

"Seven percent of the shares in Totsuki Academy, and ten percent of the shares in the Totsuki Resort beneath it… you're actually willing to give these away?"

"Oh my," Haruno leaned closer to read the document and exclaimed in surprise. "Shares of Totsuki?"

"Totsuki Academy is one of the most prestigious culinary schools not only in Japan but across all of Asia. Countless famous chefs have graduated from there. Many of the top alumni have opened restaurants around the world and hold enormous influence within the culinary industry."

Huangguang smiled faintly.

"To be honest, parting with these shares pains us somewhat. However, Totsuki may soon face certain developments, and even the Shinomiya family might not be suitable to intervene directly."

"Since we happened to meet you, Mr. Luo Yu, my father suggested transferring these shares to you."

"Oh?" Luo Yu said calmly. "So there's trouble coming."

"Let me guess—Azami Nakiri is planning to return?"

Huangguang nodded.

"That's correct."

"We're not entirely sure what the former Nakiri family member has been doing overseas after being expelled, but he appears to have accumulated considerable resources."

"There are even rumors that he has recruited a number of foreign chefs, as well as individuals with unusual abilities."

"Judging from the situation, he truly intends to return."

"He has already sent people to contact the Shinomiya family, hoping to purchase the shares we hold in Totsuki."

"But we rejected the offer."

"After all, he doesn't seem to be returning for anything honorable. In addition, the Shinomiya family maintains many cooperative ties with Totsuki."

"Of course," Huangguang added politely, "if Mr. Luo Yu isn't interested, we can offer other shares of equal value."

"That won't be necessary," Luo Yu said with a smile.

"I'll accept the Totsuki shares. I like this gift very much."

Luo Yu had always been interested in food—especially after arriving in this world from the Lands Between.

When he first learned about this world, Totsuki Academy had naturally caught his attention.

A legendary culinary institution.

Although the later developments surrounding it might have been less impressive, its golden era had been remarkable.

As a place dedicated entirely to cuisine, Luo Yu had no doubt that the chefs trained there possessed extraordinary skill.

Now that he owned shares in Totsuki, visiting the academy and tasting its cuisine would become very easy.

The second set of shares involved a publishing company in Tokyo.

"Fujikawa Publishing… thirty-five percent of the shares?"

Luo Yu blinked in mild surprise and gestured toward Haruno beside him.

Haruno smiled.

"I know this company. It's a fairly large comprehensive publisher that produces novels, magazines, and audiovisual works."

"Of course, compared to Totsuki, it's much smaller."

Another place tied to well-known figures, Luo Yu thought silently.

After reviewing all the transfer agreements, Luo Yu handed them to Haruno to double-check.

Once she confirmed everything looked correct, he signed his name without hesitation.

"I like the Shinomiya family's gift."

Luo Yu looked at Huangguang with a calm smile.

"Extend your hand."

Although slightly confused, Huangguang did as he was told.

Luo Yu grasped his wrist and briefly examined him using magic.

"Good. There's no problem."

"It seems the Qixing Sect hasn't bothered planting anything on you."

"You don't only cooperate with them, do you? Have you ever met their leader?"

Huangguang shook his head.

"No. We have only met their high-ranking members. Their leader has supposedly always been occupied and has never appeared."

"Even so, the Qixing Sect displayed power the Shinomiya family simply cannot resist."

"They also offered my father benefits he couldn't refuse."

"As for cooperating with others… not yet. Though we have made some contact."

"That's understandable," Luo Yu said calmly.

"Given your attitude, I'll give you a piece of advice."

"Go find Satoru Gojo."

"If you delay any longer, your father may no longer be your father."

"When Shinomiya Gan'an becomes a puppet of the Qixing Sect, the Shinomiya family will lose its master."

"In Tokyo, if anyone can oppose them, Gojo is the most suitable person."

Luo Yu's words made Huangguang's eyes widen.

"Mr. Luo Yu… what exactly do you mean?"

Luo Yu smiled faintly as he watched sweat slowly appear on Huangguang's forehead.

"Your father was seriously ill before, correct?"

"With all the resources the Shinomiya family possesses, you still couldn't cure him."

"That means even ordinary sorcerers shouldn't have been able to restore him completely."

"So it's obvious something else was used."

"I briefly observed him yesterday."

"A trace of death energy was already spreading through his body—though it's still faint."

Huangguang swallowed.

"T-Then… how much time does he have?"

Luo Yu held his gaze and raised three fingers.

"Three months."

"I understand," Huangguang said quietly.

"Thank you for informing me, Mr. Luo Yu."

He stood up and bowed respectfully.

"As for the follow-up procedures for the share transfers, and contacting the relevant managers, Mr. Luo Yu may entrust them to my sister's maid."

"I have urgent matters to attend to, so I must take my leave."

With that, he turned and left the meeting room immediately.

Watching him go, Haruno gently tugged at Luo Yu's sleeve.

"Luo Yu… does that mean the head of the Shinomiya family really—"

Luo Yu smiled lightly.

"When you cooperate with people like that, things are never simple."

"It seems the Shinomiya family will soon fall into chaos."

Haruno quickly understood.

"You mean… Huangguang won't tell anyone?"

Luo Yu shook his head as he gathered the documents and stood up.

"He'll probably say something."

"But even if the hidden problem in Shinomiya Gan'an's body is solved, his health won't truly recover."

"He won't live many more years."

"From now on, Huangguang will begin preparing his own arrangements to solidify his position as heir."

"The inheritance struggle between him and his two brothers will soon come into the open."

"And Shinomiya Gan'an will no longer have the power to stop it."

Haruno looked thoughtful.

"If you helped treat Shinomiya Gan'an, wouldn't you gain even more benefits?"

Luo Yu raised the document folder in his hand and smiled.

"I know when to stop."

"I dislike trouble—especially something as massive as the Shinomiya family."

"There are too many factions and tangled interests inside it."

"I have no desire to get involved."

"Besides, now that I own shares in Totsuki, I'll have to deal with that matter sooner or later."

"As for the Shinomiya family… they can resolve their own problems."

Chapter 70 — The Outing (Part 5)

After leaving the meeting room, Luo Yu and Haruno returned to the others.

Luo Yu looked at Ai Hayasaka, who stood nearby in her maid uniform.

"Miss Maid, Shinomiya Huangguang mentioned that you can handle the procedures for the share transfers. Is that correct?"

Hayasaka smiled politely and nodded.

"That's correct. I'm familiar with all the necessary procedures. You may leave them to me, Mr. Luo Yu."

"Then I'll trouble you."

Handing her the document folder, Luo Yu continued,

"For the businesses in Chiba, draft a management agreement. I intend to entrust them to the Yukinoshita family."

Both Haruno and Yukino looked at him in surprise.

Yukino didn't yet understand the situation.

Haruno, however, became excited almost instantly.

If all these businesses were entrusted to the Yukinoshita family…

That meant Luo Yu intended to cooperate with them.

She absolutely had to seize this opportunity.

Hayasaka, on the other hand, wasn't particularly surprised.

According to the information she had gathered, Luo Yu was extremely powerful—but he was still young.

Managing such a large number of businesses alone would be unrealistic.

Naturally, he would need someone to help oversee them.

Aside from the original owner, the Shinomiya family, the Yukinoshita family was the most suitable choice.

Hayasaka nodded.

"Understood. I will arrange for professional lawyers to draft the agreement."

"Everything will be completed before noon."

She then turned to Kaguya.

"Lady Kaguya, I must now handle Mr. Luo Yu's matters."

"The morning itinerary has already been arranged, so please accompany Mr. Luo Yu and the others for the outing."

"I will return before noon."

Suddenly left alone, Kaguya felt slightly uncomfortable—but she maintained her composure.

"That's fine. Go and handle it properly."

"Yes."

After Hayasaka departed, Kaguya turned toward the group.

"In that case, shall we depart?"

Luo Yu waved his hand.

"No rush. We haven't had breakfast yet."

"Miss Shinomiya, have you eaten?"

Kaguya shook her head slightly.

"I already have."

Luo Yu checked the time.

"We'll eat first. Just something simple. If we see something good later, we can buy more."

So the group headed to the restaurant for breakfast.

Although Kaguya had already eaten, she had been ordered by her family to build a good relationship with Luo Yu.

Thus, while they ate, she ordered a cup of coffee and quietly observed them.

Even during that short breakfast, Kaguya managed to learn a little about each person.

Ranni possessed an extraordinary presence.

She seemed indifferent to most matters and only spoke when something truly interested her.

Yukino Yukinoshita had a cold temperament.

She ate quietly, though Kaguya noticed her occasionally glancing toward Luo Yu.

And Yukinoshita Haruno was the most cheerful of them all.

She chatted constantly with Luo Yu during the meal and even attempted to include Kaguya in the conversation.

Just as the reports described, she was extremely skilled at social interaction.

As for Luo Yu himself…

Kaguya felt she hadn't learned anything useful about him.

He simply smiled calmly while eating breakfast and occasionally asked if anyone had a place they wished to visit.

Twenty minutes later, breakfast was finished.

Luo Yu turned to Kaguya.

"Miss Shinomiya, where is the first stop on the itinerary you arranged?"

Kaguya immediately replied,

"The Shinomiya family owns a private art museum in Tokyo."

"Recently, several famous oil paintings were acquired, and a number of collectors have lent pieces from their own collections."

"A private exhibition is being prepared."

"It hasn't officially opened yet, but all the exhibits have already arrived."

"If you're interested, I can take you there."

Luo Yu nodded and looked at the others.

"What do you think?"

None of them objected.

They were all somewhat curious about the private museum.

Thus, the first destination was decided.

Leaving the hotel in Shinomiya family vehicles, they headed toward the private art museum.

The museum's collection was impressive.

At one point, Luo Yu even spotted an ancient mummy on display.

Near the end of the tour, Hayasaka returned—astonishingly efficient.

She approached Luo Yu and handed him a stack of contracts.

"Mr. Luo Yu, all procedures have been completed."

"The relevant managers of every business have been notified, and their contact information is included here."

"Additionally, the Director of Totsuki Academy, Senzaemon Nakiri, has been informed of your existence."

"He looks forward to meeting you."

Luo Yu nodded and handed the contracts to Haruno.

"I'm quite interested in Totsuki Academy."

"I'll contact him later and arrange a visit."

Haruno immediately turned toward him.

"Luo Yu! When you go, can I come too?"

"I've heard the current Elite Ten are much stronger than previous generations."

After thinking briefly, Luo Yu replied,

"Probably not this week."

"Maybe next week. I'll contact you before I go."

"Great!"

Haruno cheered happily and began reading the contracts.

Looking at Ranni and Yukino, Luo Yu asked,

"We've seen most of the museum."

"Is there anywhere else you want to go?"

Ranni withdrew her gaze from a sculpture and shook her head.

"I don't mind."

"But earlier in the car, Yukino was looking at information about the zoo."

"She seemed interested in seeing pandas."

"Why don't we go to the zoo this afternoon?"

Yukino hadn't expected Ranni to notice.

Blushing slightly, she said softly,

"You don't need to consider me. You can decide."

Luo Yu glanced at her shy but hopeful expression and smiled.

"Anywhere is fine."

"In Tokyo, that should be Ueno Zoo, right?"

Hayasaka immediately explained,

"If you wish to visit, I can arrange everything immediately."

"Even close contact with the pandas can be arranged."

Given the Shinomiya family's influence in Tokyo, this was hardly surprising.

Luo Yu nodded decisively.

"Then let's find somewhere to eat lunch."

"This afternoon, we'll go to Ueno Zoo."

With that decision made, the Shinomiya family's original itinerary was naturally canceled.

However, the lunch location was still arranged by the Shinomiya family—

An extremely high-end restaurant that accepted reservations only.
