Years ago, the first humans who came to the mountain explored it, and near the end of the peak they found a skeleton. No one knew who it belonged to or how it ended up there.
However, beneath the place where the skeleton was found, there was a cave. From then on, this place was called the Haunted Cave.
"Why did you bring me here, idiot?"
"To explore."
Reis turned and looked at Aisa with a playful expression.
"What, are you scared?"
"No, you just said we would play, that's why I came with you."
Reis suddenly stopped and stared at something intensely.
"Reis, what's wrong?"
"Boo."
Reis turned suddenly, shouting, and Aisa got scared and screamed too.
"You… idiot."
Reis started laughing loudly.
"HA HA HA, you should have seen your face."
Aisa's face turned red from anger. Reis realized that he had made her very angry.
"Hey Aisa, sorry, I was just joking…"
Angry, Aisa started chasing Reis inside the cave, pulling his hair.
"Aisa, it hurts, stop… I said sorry."
The cave filled with the shouts and laughter of the two children. Aisa kept chasing Reis until she accidentally tripped and fell on top of him.
Reis' face turned red as he realized that Aisa was on top of him… and very close to him. But Aisa's gaze was fixed somewhere else. Reis turned and looked where she was looking.
There was a crack in the cave that allowed a little sunlight to enter, illuminating something shiny.
Reis and Aisa stood up.
"What is that?"
Reis said and started running toward the shining object.
"Wait."
Reis didn't listen to Aisa and took the shining object in his hands. It was a golden crystal.
"What is this?"
Aisa came next to him.
"I don't know, but it's beautiful."
"I will take it with me and show it to everyone."
When they returned, Reis had forgotten the crystal.
"Goodnight, Aisa."
"Goodnight, Reis, I'll see you tomorrow."
Reis turned and left, but as he was walking, the crystal fell from his pocket.
"Mom, I'm back."
"Finally, go to wash your hands the food is ready."
Reis went to wash his hands in a deep bowl
. While he was washing his hands, he remembered the crystal. He searched his pockets and realized that he had lost it.
"Ahh… too bad, I lost it."
Reis said in a disappointed tone.
That night, everyone was sleeping, but they woke up from a blinding golden light
.
Everyone in the village woke up and went outside, frightened, to see where the light was coming from.
The light was coming from the crystal.
Everyone in the village had gathered around it.
"What is this?"
"What should we do?"
A whispering noise could be heard all around.
Reis stepped forward and saw that it was the crystal.
"Mom, this is—"
Reis' mother suddenly stopped him from approaching the crystal.
"Don't get close, it's dangerous."
A voice was heard.
"Hey, stop, it's dangerous."
It was a man trying to stop someone, but a younger man stepped forward, trying to touch the crystal with a stick.
Finally, the man touched the branch to the crystal.
The crystal began to shake, then it cracked, and then…
Boom.
"The crystal broke into many pieces and entered everyone's body, and from then on we gained the powers we have today. But that day, the crystal also changed our bodies, giving us green eyes and orange hair."
The old woman had been telling the story of the Mirians all her life to the children of the village.
For years, the Mirians passed their story from generation to generation so they would not forget how they were created and how they got their powers.
"Miss Nefeli."
"What is it, Alice?
"If bad people ever come and find us, what should we do?"
"Well, first we must keep our secret, because if outsiders ever learn that we were once slaves, we will be destroyed. And second, we must protect our home at all costs."
"Alice, it's time to go home."
Alice saw the figure of her older sister from afar.
"Natalia!"
She stood up and started running toward her sister, but before leaving, she said goodbye to the others.
"See you tomorrow, everyone."

The Mirians were once slaves, but they escaped and found refuge on the mountain, and the crystal gave them powers. This was the Mirians, a tribe without technology and with a secret that could destroy them.
