Chapter 4 - Ch 4- I refuse

After learning more about Sukuna from Gojo Satoru and personally experiencing Sukuna's malice, Itadori could understand what Fushiguro Shin meant.

He could imagine how many innocent lives Sukuna would take if left unchecked.

Fushiguro Shin extended his hand toward Itadori and continued, "Fushiguro Shin. Megumi's older brother. From now on, we are comrades."

Itadori did not hesitate and shook his hand.

"Itadori Yuji."

Shin added calmly, "But let me make this clear. If you completely lose control and become a monster, I will not hesitate to stop you, even if it means killing you, before your hands are stained with more sin."

Itadori froze at those words.

Gojo Satoru smiled faintly. Although he had never heard Shin say this to anyone else, it was undeniably his style.

Fushiguro Megumi facepalmed and complained, "Brother, didn't you already decide to let him live? Don't say things like that with such a straight face."

Shin released Itadori's hand.

"My apologies. That was simply my way of saying I hope you succeed."

[Itadori Affection Level increased to 2. Gained 100 Experience Points.]

Itadori looked at his hand still suspended in midair and recalled what Gojo Satoru had told him earlier. Surviving a curse attack with a complete body was considered fortunate.

If Sukuna ever fully took over, he would become the one causing such tragedies.

Shin's words no longer sounded so harsh. Instead, through those twisted words, Itadori could sense his goodwill.

If that day truly came, perhaps even if he went to hell, his sins would be slightly fewer.

For now, Itadori did not yet have a concrete understanding of the scale of sin Sukuna might commit.

[Itadori Affection Level increased to 3. Gained 100 Experience Points.]

Naturally, Shin had no idea about Itadori's inner thoughts. He was only surprised that Itadori's Affection Level had increased again without explanation.

The next day, as usual, Gojo Satoru brought Itadori to undergo Principal Yaga's test.

Fushiguro Megumi was resting and receiving treatment for his injuries, so only Shin accompanied them.

Shin had absolutely no interest in the scene unfolding between Yaga and Itadori. It was exactly as he remembered.

There was no opportunity to alter the test, and even if there had been, it would not have mattered much.

Meanwhile, standing nearby, Gojo Satoru recalled the scene from when Shin had taken the test.

When Yaga asked, "Why did you come to Jujutsu High?" Shin's answer had been simple.

"To become stronger."

Yaga had continued, "After you understand curses and the techniques used to exorcise them, and after you become stronger, what do you intend to do?"

Shin had glanced at Megumi, who stood beside Gojo Satoru behind him, and then answered Yaga.

"I apologize, but for personal reasons, I cannot comment on that."

Yaga frowned and glanced at Gojo Satoru in the distance, grumbling internally. What is wrong with this kid? Gojo said he was strong and told me to go all out, but what kind of answer is that?

Yaga stood and said coldly, "Unacceptable. 'No comment' is not an answer. Let me see if you can remain so stubborn when you are cornered."

He immediately controlled two puppets, a green Kappa and a white cat, and sent them toward Shin.

However, before the two puppets could test the strength Gojo had praised, Shin moved first.

The puppets instantly lost their target as Shin appeared before Yaga in the blink of an eye.

Yaga was shocked. How is he this fast?

Although Shin's overall ability points were not especially high, the amplification from Reverse Heavenly Restriction already made him superhuman.

Without wasting words, Shin launched a flying kick directly at Yaga's head.

Even though Yaga raised his arms to block, the sheer force still sent him staggering backward several meters.

His glasses fell to the ground, revealing eyes filled with shock and anger.

He had never encountered someone who simply started attacking him without hesitation.

Logically speaking, when facing the entrance exam conducted by the Principal of Jujutsu High, this option should not even occur to a normal person.

Megumi stood dumbfounded. Why did his brother just start attacking the Principal without a word?

Gojo Satoru was not surprised. This was exactly the kind of thing Shin would do. He found Yaga's bewildered expression rather amusing.

Seeing Gojo suppressing his laughter only made Yaga more irritated.

Yaga shook his numb arm and asked in a deep voice, "Fushiguro Shin, correct? Can you explain what you are doing right now?"

"Trying to satisfy you, Principal, by demonstrating my strength."

Seeing Yaga's disbelief, Shin sighed and added,

"Fine. To be honest, I was planning to knock you out in one strike so I would not have to answer the question."

Gojo Satoru finally burst into laughter.

Yaga snapped, "Stop laughing. Why are you so unwilling to answer that question that you would choose to fight me instead?"

Shin's reaction made Yaga realize that something deeper was involved, which only heightened his curiosity.

"Not that question. At least, I cannot answer it here."

Yaga adjusted his glasses. Behind him, numerous puppets of various sizes began to stir.

"Is that so? Then today I will force the answer out of you."

Facing the high intensity assault from both Yaga and the swarm of puppets, Shin managed to hold out for more than twenty minutes without being defeated.

After the battle, Yaga was certain that Shin's powerful physique combined with weak Cursed Energy was due to Heavenly Restriction.

He had not expected to encounter a second case at Jujutsu High.

Yaga looked at Shin, who was breathing heavily, and spoke again.

"You are indeed impressive. Answer that question, and I will consider you qualified."

"Ha… Ha… I refuse."

Shin's stubbornness reached a level that forced Yaga to ask,

"What exactly are you protecting?"

At that moment, Gojo Satoru clapped his hands and stepped forward.

"Alright, alright. I'll answer that question for you."

Outside the room, Yaga learned the full story from Gojo Satoru.

After understanding the twisted relationship and why Shin had refused to answer in front of Megumi, Yaga looked at Gojo with a strange expression.

"How absurd…"

From that day onward, Yaga became the only person, aside from Gojo Satoru, who knew the truth about their relationship.
