I went in not wanting to be rude, as I had promised myself to be just like any other employee here. But… this wasn't part of my plan at all.
It felt as if trouble wasn't going to let me off so easily. The stares of Eva and Alex were actually stabbing my back as I stepped inside, but now that it's gotten to this all I could think about was what I was going to tell Ben and the others when I got back.
I'm definitely gonna be late now... This is the worst! I should have forgotten about good manners and just say thank you like any normal person! Mason! Why didn't you stop me yesterday, damn it!!!

Everything felt stuffy since yesterday. This morning was only making it worse and right after I closed my office door I had the urge to take off my tie but doing so would only make Miss Burry feel more awkward.
