Seeing his strike fail, Isobu arched his massive body and withdrew into his thick, spiked shell. Curling up, he began spinning forward like a massive wheel, crushing across the water's surface with overwhelming weight and momentum.
"Shadow Fist."
Watching the enraged Three-Tails charge at him, Obito spoke quietly at first:
"Hatred for me…?"
Then his voice erupted into a furious roar—
"My hatred surpasses yours!!!"
He slammed his palm against the water's surface, converting minute strands of chakra from his fingertips into scorching flames that spread outward. Astonishingly, a crimson barrier manifested above the water.
"Uchiha Flame Formation!"
Isobu crashed violently into the red barrier. Not only did it fail to break through, but intense heat surged from the surface. Even through its hardened shell, Isobu was burned.
Seizing the opportunity, Obito formed hand seals.
"Wood Release: Cutting Sprigs Jutsu!"
Thorn-covered trees erupted from the water's surface, instantly binding Isobu and tightening around its body.
"Graaah!!!"
The Three-Tails struggled against the constricting wood, but before it could break free, Obito pressed his hand against its neck.
"Kamui."
The space around Isobu's neck began twisting violently. It felt as though an invisible force was wrenching its neck apart.
Then—
Obito reversed the rotational distortion.
Clockwise. Counterclockwise.
Back and forth.
He alternated Kamui's spatial warping, venting the anguish buried deep within him. Even if he "understood" that this world was false—meaningless no matter what he did—
When he saw the Three-Tails, memories of Rin's death flooded his mind once more.
And he lost himself.
Isobu felt its neck being twisted mercilessly while its body remained restrained, unable to resist.
After some time—
The Three-Tails finally lost consciousness under the torment.
Zetsu hurried forward to stop Obito. Only then did Obito withdraw his hand and use Kamui to absorb Isobu into his dimension.
After Obito transported the Three-Tails back to the hideout, Itachi and Kisame soon tracked down the Four-Tails' Jinchūriki, Rōshi.
Within days, they located him.
Rōshi immediately activated his Lava Release Chakra Mode, but in the end, he was defeated by Kisame.
Together, Itachi and Kisame brought him to the same base where the Three-Tails was confined.
The Akatsuki then sealed both the Three-Tails and the Four-Tails.
[Ōnoki: …Rōshi, so the Tailed Beast was extracted from you in the end.]
[Rōshi: Hmph. I don't need your nagging. When Han was captured, I already knew my day would come.]
[Kakashi Hatake: Obito… you… sigh.]

The figure blinked in confusion upon seeing them.
Orochimaru opened the tank.
Water cascaded outward as the young man slid free.
Hōzuki Suigetsu stared blankly.
"Huh? Orochimaru-sama, what's this about…?"
Orochimaru tossed him a set of clothes.
"Suigetsu, your research period is over. From now on, you'll accompany us to another base."
"Oh! No problem. I thought you'd forgotten about me, Orochimaru-sama."
(Orochimaru: I genuinely did leave you here gathering dust.)
After Suigetsu dressed, the group departed for the Northern Hideout.
Along the way, Nagi glanced at the chatterbox beside him.
"The Hōzuki Clan's unique Water Release… how interesting."
