The cathedral floor was broken and stained with blood, as if a huge fight had occurred there.
A man wearing square glasses looked closely at the bloodstains and sighed.
Behind him, the high priest stood sweating heavily.
"So, as you reported, there should be a purple-colored 'cursed' man. Where is he?" another man asked, looking at the high priest.
The high priest gulped. "I don't kn-know, your highness."
The man didn't say anything. He walked towards the other man and whispered something.
The air began to feel heavy, as if someone had released pressure. "High priest... I don't expect such lowly things from you... How can you not remember the man's face?"
The high priest stared in disbelief.
He opened his mouth to speak, but the man cut him off. "Don't dare to cut me off.... I hereby strip all your land. You are imprisoned for six months and will be thrown into the eastern sector."
His legs couldn't carry his weight. He fell to the ground crying, "Sorry... my lord, don't do this to me. Please... please."
The man scoffed and looked at the man wearing square glasses. "Take him away."
The man took him out forcefully; his screams for mercy could be heard clearly from a distance.
The man glanced at the cathedral. "This is something which should be reported to the crown."
He stepped on a broken stone and bent down. He touched the blood with his finger and licked it. "I, Volt of nobility Tor, will handle this case myself."
The whole cathedral was empty. He was standing there alone, his golden hair completely covering one eye.

Alaric was sitting in his room with Tylor. His butler, Kale, was shivering when he heard what happened to Alaric.
When Alaric dismissed Kale, he looked at Tylor. "It was not a good decision to tell me what happened at the cathedral."
"Don't worry, I'll modify his memory," Tylor spoke almost in a whisper.
"And how exactly?"
"You'll find out soon, but it's time for you to recover both—"
"Mentally and physically," Alaric finished for Tylor. Before Tylor could ask anything else, a question struck Alaric's mind.
"If you can modify memories, then why not do it on a global scale and make everyone forget about what happened earlier?"
Tylor looked down at Alaric with a raised brow. "It's a good yet bad question. First thing, I can only modify the memories of people to whom I have told something. For example, your butler knows I am different, but I haven't told him about this, so I won't be able to modify it."
"Oh... that's the only reason?" Alaric asked teasingly.
"No... I am not a god who can do global-level stuff. At most, I can do street-level or city-level stuff."
Alaric looked at Tylor and laughed weakly. "You are not good at lying, at least not in front of me."
Tylor smiled weakly but didn't say anything.
Alaric was thinking about something when he yelled, "Shit!"
Tylor eyed Alaric. "What?"
"Nothing."
Alaric put his hand on his head. "Why can't I remember him? What was his name, damn it? That red bamboo guy, ahh."
Alaric started scratching his head in frustration. "Are you mentally sick?" Tylor asked.
"And who are you? A big liar who can't even lie properly. Like, man... you made up the whole explanation of modification. Probably, something like memory modification exists because nothing surprises me anymore, but the system you explained has many loopholes, so you can't lie properly."
Tylor's expression went blank.
I have learned somewhere: when you don't have a proper answer, ask a question.
Alaric again started scratching his head. "It was messy, whatever. I am not giving a speech, but who was that guy? I know I scammed him, but how? I know I came from the eastern to the western sector, but how? I can remember the location, not the name."

Volt was standing in front of a room that looked like a torture chamber. Inside, the high priest was sitting.
He was missing seven fingers, one eye, and one ear. His clothes were covered in blood.
"So, Mr. Eric, former high priest of St. Order cathedral in the western sector, tell me exactly what happened."
The high priest coughed blood. "Yo-your highness.... I was sitting beside the statue of... the goddess when a man with brown eyes and black hair came and told me about—"
"Shut up," Volt growled. "Tell me the main thing."
"Yes... yes... main thing. When I asked him to sit beside me, he started transforming into purplish energy."
Volt looked at Eric and waited for a moment. "Is that all?"
"Yes... yes, your highness."
Volt glanced around to see if anyone was nearby.
A little way away, a police officer was standing. Volt looked at him and called out, "You, come here."
The police officer walked towards Volt, almost running. "Yes, your highness."
"Is it your duty to send Eric to prison?"
"Yes, your highness," he answered truthfully
"What is your rank?"
"Junior assistant police officer."
"And posting?" Volt asked, looking curious.
"Eastern sector." While saying this, he lowered his head.
"So, from now on, you are assistant superintendent of police, and your posting is now the southern sector. You will state that Mr. Eric ran away."
The police officer jerked his head and looked at Volt with disbelief. Before he could say anything, Volt added, "Don't worry, I'll have your back."
The moment he heard this, he immediately nodded.
Volt waved his hand, indicating to dismiss him.
Volt turned towards the torture chamber and closed the door from the inside.
For the first time since Eric was stripped of his title and land, Volt was just staring at him.
Volt raised a brow. "You know very well why I am here, don't you?"
Eric finally stopped shivering from the intense fear. " No my..my Lord"
"Oh you don't...then look behind you."
Eric followed Volt's command and looked at his back.
Behind him was a bunch of human eating locusts slowly crawling towards Eric without making any noise.
Eric eyes widened, he instantly turned forward to beg for mercy only to see Volt was not there anymore , Eric was alone with the Locusts or more specifically Human eating locusts.
In just four or five minutes Eric screamed in pain , it was scream which can be heard from a mile away.
The next thing that could be heard was screams, painful screams of someone getting eaten alive.
