Chapter 18 - Speed of burning love part 17

Shi-han:- What happened? Still standing there stunned?? Didn't you hear what I said?? Is the pain mine or yours? Whose blood is flowing, Mr. Zombie??

★★★

From the 3rd floor apartment, after returning to his own flat and taking a shower, Jun-Yu came out of the bathroom wearing half-pants and a bathrobe, wiping his wet hair with a towel. Although there was a hair dryer in the bathroom, due to extreme hunger he didn't waste time drying his hair with it. While wiping his hair, he threw the towel toward the sofa and went straight to the kitchen. He didn't even comb his hair. His wet hair gathered over his forehead, and drops of water kept falling. Perhaps this is what hunger feels like.

**Jun-Yu placed a pan on the oven, set water to boil, and while cutting onions thought—

(Shi-Han lives in the 3rd flat of our apartment. But what was she doing that night in Zhangmiao? It's been 4 months since she moved into this apartment, yet today was the first time I met her.)

**While thinking about Shi-Han, Jun-Yu—who never usually came to the kitchen—started tearing up while cutting onions. Somehow holding back his tears, he put two packets of noodles into the boiling water and began cutting green chilies.

**Jun-Yu moved from the vegetable cutting spot on the left side of the kitchen to the right side near the basin to cut vegetables. It was easier for him to wash and cut or cut and wash there. However, just beside the basin on the left, leaving only a little space, was the gas oven. Because of the onions and thoughts of Shi-Han, while cutting chilies, due to carelessness he cut his hand.

**As if a cut wound wasn't enough, instead of salt it was chili. Only someone who has had chili touch a cut wound knows this pain. As Jun-Yu shook his hand in pain, the boiling noodles along with hot water spilled onto his hand and scattered across the floor.

**Standing between the gas oven and the basin, when he cut his hand and shook it, the hot noodles fell onto his hand. With boiling water touching his cut, Jun-Yu writhed in pain. Because of the onion juice, his eyes were still watery. Chili on the cut and boiling water—looking at him, it seemed like he had come to cook but ended up crying miserably.

**Shi-Han was sleeping on her bed hugging Meilin. Suddenly, at the sound of dishes breaking, she woke up startled.

Shi-Han: Meilin, where are you?

**As Shi-Han woke up, she saw Meilin beside her bed—

Shi-Han: Oh, you're here Meilin. Then who's breaking dishes at this hour? Other than you, no one breaks dishes in this flat.

Meilin: Meow meow.

Shi-Han: Okay, you sleep, I won't disturb you. But did the sound come from the upper flat?

**Thinking about the upper flat, Shi-Han remembered Jun-Yu had collapsed senseless in front of her flat a while ago. The eighteen-year-old girl had already beaten him half-dead with her own hands in that condition. Thinking all sorts of things, fear gripped her again. What if something happened to her "zombie" again?

Shi-Han: Jun-Yu lives upstairs… okay Meilin, you stay here, I'll go check on that zombie.

Meilin: Meow.

**No sooner thought than done. Thinking about Jun-Yu, Shi-Han talked to her cat and went from the 3rd floor to the 4th. As she reached Jun-Yu's flat door, she heard his painful groans from inside.

**Jun-Yu's hand was badly burned. Chili pieces on the cut and hot water were giving him unbearable pain. With hot water splashed on his body, it felt like the flesh of his hand had boiled. Like a body burning on a funeral pyre, his hand felt completely scorched. To reduce the burning pain, Jun-Yu had immersed his hand in a glass bowl filled with water and ice.

**Hearing Jun-Yu's cries, Shi-Han immediately rang the doorbell without hesitation. Jun-Yu opened the door while holding his injured hand with his elbow and shaking it.

**As soon as the door opened, Shi-Han's eyes widened. Jun-Yu's left hand was soaked in blood. Blood dripped down his wrist, soaking the sleeve of his white bathrobe.

**Jun-Yu's flat was a mess. Two small motorcycles, helmets, science gadgets, lab items, children's toy trucks, several small cars—so many things scattered everywhere that it couldn't be described. Jun-Yu never imagined Miss Shankchunni would suddenly come to his flat. On top of the messy environment, his inability to cook felt like a failure. Seeing Shi-Han, Jun-Yu reacted as if he saw a ghost. His lips parted slightly, as if flies could pass in and out.

**Suddenly, a robot came near Jun-Yu's feet and said— "Welcome my father house."

**Shi-Han's gaze shifted from Jun-Yu's face. She saw the robot speaking and moving away. The robot's voice snapped Jun-Yu out of his daze. Instantly, the pain in his hand seemed forgotten. He tried to compose himself and hid his injured left hand behind him, giving a fake smile—

Jun-Yu: M-Miss Shankchunni, y-you here?

**From outside the door, Shi-Han reached for his hidden hand—

Shi-Han: Let me see what you're hiding, Mr. Zombie. I clearly saw your hand covered in blood.

**Jun-Yu stepped back two steps, and Shi-Han stepped inside—

Jun-Yu: I-I'm not hiding anything. Nothing happened to me. Why did you come at this hour? Please leave.

Shi-Han: Shut up. Your hand is bleeding and you're trying to hide everything from me. What benefit do you get by hiding your pain?

**As Shi-Han entered inside, Jun-Yu fell silent. Her eyes fell on a bowl of blood on the table, and on the floor were noodles and blood scattered. Her expression showed anger.

Shi-Han: Nothing happened, right Mr. Zombie?? Then what are you doing with a bowl of blood on the table?? You really are a zombie. Otherwise who cuts their own hand to quench their thirst for blood?

Jun-Yu: Actually, I was very hungry and while cutting chilies I slightly cut my hand. And by mistake, hot noodles fell on the cut.

Shi-Han: Serves you right. You could have told me once, I would have cooked for you. Anyway, leave all that. Go sit on the sofa. And tell me where the first aid is.

**Jun-Yu hesitated, wondering if he should really let Shi-Han do first aid. He stood scratching his head. Shi-Han, shocked, scolded him—

Shi-Han: What happened? Still standing there stunned?? Didn't you hear what I said?? Is the pain mine or yours? Whose blood is flowing, Mr. Zombie??

Jun-Yu: I-I was saying, Miss Shankchunni, I'll do it myself.

Shi-Han: Fine, go sit on the sofa. Or bring the first aid yourself and bandage it. I'll see how you manage to do first aid on one hand with the other.

**Like an obedient child, Jun-Yu brought the first aid kit and sat on the sofa. The person who made Shi-Han's heartbeat stop—his hand was bleeding endlessly. Seeing this, her heart felt torn apart. Though the wound was on Jun-Yu's hand, it felt like the blood was flowing from her heart. At first, she was terrified seeing his injury. Her heart trembled. But she ignored her fear and understood that treating his wound was the priority.

**Jun-Yu sat with the first aid kit, thinking—how is it even possible to bandage one hand with the other?

**But he had already said he would do it himself. Now how could he ask Shi-Han to help him?

**Shi-Han stood a little away, observing the kitchen and drawing room. Her sharp eyes were shaken seeing a bachelor man's living space. OMG—was this a science lab or a motorcycle garage? She couldn't understand.

**Though it wasn't actually a lab or garage, nothing in the room was in its proper place. Jun-Yu was even more messy than he was handsome.

**After observing for a while, Shi-Han concluded—either this isn't a normal person's house, or two naughty kids live here.

**Jun-Yu had been watching Shi-Han for a while. When she looked at him after observing the room, she gave a fake smile. Jun-Yu also returned a fake smile.

**Though Jun-Yu didn't understand the reason behind her smile, Shi-Han understood his—he couldn't bandage himself.

**Without hesitation, Shi-Han stepped forward to bandage his hand. But earlier, Jun-Yu had thrown the towel toward the sofa; it had fallen on the floor. Now Shi-Han's foot got tangled in it, and she stumbled and fell onto Jun-Yu.

**Her left hand landed on his right shoulder, and her right hand on his left shoulder. Her rose-like lips touched the left side of his exposed chest.

**Though Jun-Yu wore a bathrobe, it left part of his chest exposed. Shi-Han's warm breath hit directly over his heart. Startled, Jun-Yu held her with his injured hand as drops of blood fell. Water from his wet hair also dripped onto the floor.

**The person who always made Shi-Han freeze—now she was so close to him. As always, her heart trembled, but his scent enchanted her. For a few seconds, she lost herself.

**Jun-Yu's right hand tightly held Shi-Han's left hand. His other hand was injured. The boy who ignored all girls now felt her warm breath on his chest. His world seemed to spin. His fair skin turned red with embarrassment. Not knowing how to push her away, he cleared his throat.

**At the sound, Shi-Han came back to her senses and lifted her hands—

Shi-Han: Sorry! Sorry, Mr. Zombie. It's not my fault—your room is messy.

**Jun-Yu stared silently at her. Without wasting time, Shi-Han bandaged his hand. But neither of them could look into each other's eyes.
