Chapter 178 - Chapter 178: The Thousand-Pupil Catalyst

Ding!

[The Host has helped the Byakugan Princess awaken the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan. Reward issued after settlement.]

[Reward obtained: Thousand-Pupil Byakugan, Complete Inheritance of Hyuga Tennin!]

Hearing the system notification in his mind, Jie couldn't help but wonder if the System thought he didn't know how to roll his eyes. Did he really need a reward for a skill like the Byakugan?

Besides, for an Uchiha to suddenly awaken the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan… Jie couldn't help but feel as if a faint, metaphorical green glow of humiliation hovered over Fugaku Uchiha's head.

But since the system gave it, Jie took it without hesitation. He breathed a sigh of relief as the process finished.

Thankfully, the system mercifully integrated the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan's abilities directly into his Mangekyo Sharingan.

He could turn the dojutsu on and off at will, so his eyes wouldn't constantly glow with that strange, radiant blue light like Hinata's.

'Not bad at all. Saves me a lot of trouble.'

Once the fusion was complete, he could clearly feel new powers blooming inside his eyes.

He could now control attractive and repulsive forces, but the effect was extremely weak. At best, he figured he could use it in battle to slightly throw off an enemy ninja's movements... nothing more.

It was nowhere near the Rinnegan's Universal Pull or Almighty Push, let alone the Tenseigan's ability to move celestial bodies.

He could also control dirt and stone statues, similar to Inorganic Reanimation...giving them a limited form of life.

But the statues controlled by the system's Thousand-Pupil Byakugan were only as strong as an average Chunin. Much weaker than true Inorganic Reanimation.

As for spatial teleportation or the Tenseigan Chakra Mode? He had none of that.

All he truly gained was a level of perception slightly superior to a normal Byakugan.

Honestly, Jie couldn't understand how Hyuga Tennin had used such a weak dojutsu to suppress both the Uchiha and the Senju back in the day.

But after reviewing Tennin's complete inheritance, he finally understood... the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan was just a catalyst.

Its real power was that it gave him the physical requirements to train in the ancient Nintaijutsu passed down by the Hyuga clan.

Take the God Vacuum Strike, for example... a technique that could rival the Eight Inner Gates' Night Guy.

The Hyuga clan was actually a branch family left behind in the ninja world by the Otsutsuki clan living on the moon. Over the long years, many powerful Nintaijutsu techniques were lost because no one had the right traits to learn them.

But thanks to the unique Thousand-Pupil Byakugan and extraordinary talent, Hyuga Tennin managed to reconstruct some of those lost arts.

This included the God Vacuum Strike, the absolute pinnacle of the Gentle Fist, along with its various advanced forms.

Now that Jie had the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan and Tennin's complete inheritance, he mastered all of the Hyuga clan's Nintaijutsu without needing a single lesson.

By grasping the God Vacuum Strike, he had conquered the very source of all their Taijutsu.

Jie could now say without any modesty that his Taijutsu was the best in the entire ninja world.

Even if Might Guy opened the Gate of Death, Jie was completely confident he could easily block the ultimate Night Guy attack. After all, Jie also knew the Eight Inner Gates and opening the Seventh Gate was a breeze for him now.

While there was a massive power gap between the Seventh and Eighth Gates, the difference between Guy's base strength and Jie's was already worlds apart.

Add to that the Flying Thunder God Technique, the ultimate kinetic vision of his Mangekyo Sharingan, and the ultimate perception of his Thousand-Pupil Byakugan... Jie figured that no matter how fast the Eight Gates made Guy, he wouldn't even be able to land a single hit on him.

But that was a matter for the future. Right now, Might Guy was one of his most capable subordinates. There was no way Guy would ever open the Eight Gates against him.

Having accepted his reward, Jie pushed the scattered thoughts from his mind and looked calmly at Hiashi.

"Clan Head Hiashi, I already have a thorough understanding of the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan," Jie said.

"Starting tomorrow, I will personally guide Hinata as comprehensively as possible. I will definitely bring out her full potential. When the time comes, I'll need your full cooperation."

Hiashi paused for a moment and instinctively nodded. But right after, he felt something was off. Jie had only listened to a few sentences of explanation, yet he claimed to understand the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan well enough to teach it?

Could it be that Jie didn't actually want to train Hinata and was just making excuses?

But since Jie had already spoken, there was nothing Hiashi could do. He had placed his bet, and now he had to see it through to the end.

After a few more casual words, Jie said goodbye to Hiashi and left the Hyuga compound.

Once Jie was gone, Hiashi looked deeply into Hinata's azure eyes. He remained silent for a long moment before speaking.

"Hinata, you must study hard under Lord Hokage," Hiashi said solemnly. "The future and prosperity of the Hyuga clan rest entirely on your shoulders."

With that, Hiashi turned and left the room. He needed to find the ancient inheritance left by Hyuga Tennin.

Even though Jie confidently claimed to have mastered the secrets of the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan, Hiashi felt it was wise to prepare a backup plan.

Betting on Jie was one thing, but paving the way for his own daughter's future was another.

Hizashi Hyuga, who had stayed quietly in the room, looked at his niece's eyes. A mix of satisfaction and sorrow crossed his face.

He was overjoyed that after so many years, the Hyuga clan had finally produced another Thousand-Pupil Byakugan—giving them the potential to reach the pinnacle of the ninja world once more.

But his sorrow came from thinking about his own son. Neji was hailed as the undeniable genius of the Branch Family, yet that so-called talent now seemed impossibly pale compared to the sheer power of Hinata's new eyes.

'Perhaps... this is just everyone's destiny,' Hizashi sighed inwardly.

Hearing her father's final words, Hinata looked in the direction Jie had left and made a firm, unbreakable resolve in her heart.

She would never let Brother Jie or her father down. She would grow into a ninja strong enough to hold up the sky for the Hyuga clan and lead her family to become Brother Jie's greatest pillar of support.

Meanwhile, after leaving the Hyuga estate, Jie leisurely walked back toward the Uchiha compound.

'The Thousand-Pupil Byakugan represents a high concentration of the Hyuga bloodline', he thought as he walked.

'But in a way, it also proves their bloodline is mixed and impure. Only the purest Byakugan can awaken the Thousand-Pupil Byakugan, reaching this middle stage between the basic Byakugan and the true Tenseigan.'

'Still, from a certain point of view, this shows the Hyuga bloodline still can't compare to the Otsutsuki clan on the moon. Otherwise, Hinata would have awakened the Tenseigan directly.'

'Looks like I'll have to make a trip to the moon when I get the chance', Jie decided. 'Not just for Hinata, but for myself too.'

After all, Jie was currently an Uchiha who possessed an evolution of the Byakugan.

But as he continued down the street, Jie suddenly felt like something was wrong.

"Did I forget something?" he muttered out loud.

He thought for a moment but came up blank. So he shrugged it off and kept walking.

At that exact moment, somewhere in the Hidden Leaf Village, two young boys crouched miserably in the branches of a tree.

Their faces were the very picture of absolute despair.
