"You mean Sarah?" Han asked carefully.
"Yes."
Jayden shoved both hands into his pockets before shrugging lightly, though his eyes remained serious.
"I can give her two years…" he said calmly. "Then she can ask for a divorce if she wants."
Han let out a soft scoff filled with disbelief. For several seconds, he genuinely could not find the right response. Everything about this sounded insane.
"Why would you marry her?" Han finally asked. "Just because of this design?"
"Not just because of that."
Jayden's expression slowly hardened.
"Han, you know how dangerous Keith Vanderbilt is." His jaw tightened visibly. "Even when he was younger, he almost killed me once."
The memory alone seemed enough to darken Jayden's entire mood.
"That happened when he was still a teenager," Jayden continued quietly. "Imagine what he could do to her now."
