Chapter 103 - Everyone Said Something At Once. I Had The Copy Ready

The argument had been running since Vassara arrived.

That was the most accurate way to put it. It didn't really start so much as settle into a shape when she walked in, and then it just kept going. Same shape, same pressure. Enough people involved, enough of them actually correct, that it could sustain itself indefinitely if no one interfered. Every few days it found a new angle. Every few days it ran the same positions from that angle. And every time, nothing moved.

That wasn't failure. That was what arguments did when multiple answers were right and none of them fit together. They kept going until something outside the argument forced a resolution.

I was making tea. Thinking about the bread. Not, specifically, thinking about the argument.

Arveth was at the center table with Torvel.
