By the time Aiden left the basement, the sun had gone down. Yet, the apartment was livelier than it had ever been.
People were rushing all over the place, giving the place a makeover.
"What the hell is going on here?" Aiden mumbled, quickly walking outside to see an unexpected sight.
Someone had found rolls of red and gold fabric from somewhere and had strung them along the railings of every common area balcony from the second floor upward.
Meanwhile, paper decorations cut into shapes that vaguely resembled flowers were hung from the ceiling of the main lobby on strings of different lengths.
Someone on the seventh floor had gone further and figured out how to rig salvaged fairy lights along the common area ceiling using the building's power line, lighting up the floor like it was Christmas.
The corridor walls, the staircase railings… everything had been dressed up for some reason.
