At Sea God Island, High Priestess Bo Saixi watched the pillar of light, her gaze flickering with unknown thoughts. In the Imperial Palace, Bibi Dong looked up at Gu Xuan's figure floating above the altar, the sense of powerlessness in her heart deepening. Perhaps revenge no longer existed; she would simply continue to be controlled by him in the future.
Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, Gu Rong, and the others knelt with absolute devotion. If anyone desired Gu Xuan's ascension most, it was these elders. The power of Faith originating from them was immense.

His red and blue eyes slowly opened. A golden divine halo shone behind him, and a vast divine voice filled the Douluo Continent.
"I, Gu Xuan, Emperor of the Sun Moon Empire, achieve the position of God today through the strength of the nation. My title. Eternal God King."
"From this day forth, I shall guard the Douluo Continent for a hundred years. Wherever the sun and moon shine, all shall be the territory of the Great Ming. After a hundred years, I shall ascend to the God Realm to protect Douluo."
These words spread across the entire continent. Even Bo Saixi at Sea God Island heard this divine decree. Below, the officials led by Ning Fengzhi and the sect masters responded in unison. "We are willing to give our all for the Sun Moon Emperor—His Majesty the Eternal God King."
In the God Realm, the God Kings heard him as well. Gu Xuan's true body had already traveled ahead through the pillar of light to meet them.

Destruction smiled with satisfaction. "Excellent. We discussed you earlier, but it seems those discussions were unnecessary. You were born human; your stance is naturally aligned with ours."
Gu Xuan replied. "Naturally. I previously told Senior Asura of my thoughts." Here, he no longer referred to himself as "I" in the imperial sense, but as a junior.
The God of Evil asked. "Now that you are a God, have you chosen your title?"
Gu Xuan nodded. "I have. The title is Eternal."
"Eternal?" The five were stunned for a moment, then laughed. "It seems you are an ambitious person. Good. With such grand aspirations, you are fit to inherit the great tradition and become the person we need."
Gu Xuan was confused about what they "needed," but it seemed they had been planning for him for a long time. Since it appeared to be a good thing, he conversed with them to understand their thoughts. He knew from the original history that these God Kings wanted to be "hands-off" managers so they could step down and travel.
The Asura God explained. "The God Realm became unstable after the war with the Dragon God. We predict that a catastrophe will eventually arrive. We need someone who can carry the banner of the God Realm as a leader to face the future crisis."
Life added. "The five of us are equal in strength and have little room for growth. But you are different, Eternal. You already rival us. Your talent is not inferior to the Dragon God's."

"Array of the Gods? Catastrophe?" Gu Xuan caught the keywords.
"We will explain the catastrophe later," Asura sighed. "The Array of the Gods is the supreme formation of the God Realm. Once active, the realm is safe. However, the war left many deities divided. The array requires 108 Gods to work in perfect harmony. If even one person holds back, it won't start. We want to train you to be the Lord of the Gods to lead us."
"You are an Emperor; the art of kingship is second nature to you. Combined with your ability to bridge the gap with the divine beasts, you are the only choice."
Gu Xuan was delighted; his thoughts aligned perfectly with theirs. Ultimately, the God Kings agreed to help him maintain the God Realm for another century, after which he had to ascend permanently. Gu Xuan chose to stay on Douluo for a hundred years to give his companions time to inherit their Godhoods and to accelerate the continent's development. While on Douluo, his power would be suppressed to Rank 99, only returning to full strength in the God Realm.

Six months after Gu Xuan's ascension, Qian Renxue achieved the Angel Godhood, Ning Rongrong achieved the Sea Godhood, and Dugu Yan achieved the Asura Godhood. Their ascensions brought auspicious signs to the continent, and the people knew they were the women of the Eternal God King. The three remained on the continent to accompany him.
A month later, Gu Xuan's first son was born—the result of his efforts with Xue Ke. He named the boy Gu Feng, hoping he would be as free as the wind. With Gu Xuan's help, Golden Crocodile Douluo reached Rank 99 and inherited the 2nd Class God of Strength. Gu Xuan summarized a new rule. Those who reached Titled Douluo before age thirty would be sought out by the Gods. Those older, like the elders, had to reach Rank 99.
When Gu Feng awakened his martial soul, it was the Bright Bone Dragon King with innate full soul power—a combination of Xue Ke's light and Gu Xuan's space. A year prior, Ning Fengzhi's children awakened theirs as well; the eldest, Ning Bufan, inherited the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, while another son possessed twin martial souls: the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon.
Gu Xuan fulfilled his promise to the Silver Dragon King. As his companions inherited Godhoods, the Great Beasts found their places. Bi Ji became Ye Lingling's tenth ring; Xiong Jun became Gu Rong's tenth ring; Chi Wang became Ma Bao's; and the Snow Empress became Shui Bing'er's. They would all ascend together, with the most talented becoming Gods themselves.
Under Gu Xuan's leadership, soul tools became widespread. Gu Feng succeeded the throne at twenty. Having over thirty wives and many children by then, he was much more "prolific" than his father, as he had the luxury of time that Gu Xuan never did.
Gu Xuan eventually fathered a few more children with Ye Lingling and Zhu Zhuqing after they achieved Godhood. By the end of the hundred years, Gu Feng had grandchildren and inherited the position of the God of Destruction. He and his most talented son, Gu Fan, ascended with Gu Xuan. Since 1st Class Gods could bring several people with them, the entire family ascended together. The Douluo Continent had progressed significantly and no longer needed Gu Xuan's direct protection.
