Five hours later, it was late in the afternoon when Elaina returned to the headquarters.

Marcus, who had been reviewing a few documents on his desk, looked up.
"Only one?" he asked.
Elaina nodded.
"They sent a representative first. They said it would be better to discuss terms before bringing the entire party."
Marcus leaned back slightly in his chair, thinking it over.

He stood up and walked toward the door.
"Bring them in," he added.
Elaina turned and gave a small nod before stepping aside.
