Chapter 169 - Chapter 170: Salt Flowers

Regarding the fallen God of Salt, Xia Yu had actually forgotten most of the plot; after all, he hadn't paid much attention to the story back then.

Fortunately, he had the setting collection and outside help.

"Hmm... let me see, Havria, the God of Salt, active in the Liyue region, belonging to the group'Sal Terrae'."

"This setting collection really is a setting collection!" Xia Yu smiled slightly.

[Genshin]: Damn it, the setting collection is completely useless! It just says Sal Terrae, how am I supposed to know where that is? I still have to look at the game plot!

[Genshin] @[ghostwire: tokyo]: Go grab Miko's phone and quickly play through to Liyue, then do Zhongli's story quest!

[Genshin]: If you can't beat it, just top up. Put all of Miko's pocket money into the game for me!!

[ghostwire: tokyo]:... [ghostwire: tokyo]: Look at that, now that's a real bastard!

[ghostwire: tokyo]: Are you stupid? There are plot videos online, why do you have to play it yourself?

[Genshin]: Oh, right!

Archon Xia Yu punched his palm, looking enlightened. Why hadn't he thought of that? He must have been infected by Ashen Xia Yu's idiot virus.

[Genshin] @[dark souls iii]: Stay away from me, don't get too close.

[dark souls iii]:???

After communicating with Evil Spirit Xia Yu in the group, the other party quickly uploaded all the Genshin Impact plot videos. Archon Xia Yu hurriedly flipped to Zhongli's story quest and began watching.

The plot wasn't long, only about forty minutes. After finishing, Xia Yu was still a bit of a muggle—the game was different from reality after all—but at least he had a reference, so he wasn't completely in the dark.

After thinking for a bit, Xia Yu flew into the air, deciding to look at the general terrain from above and then compare it with the map in the game to see if he could find the place.

As the clouds brushed past his body, Xia Yu stood in the sky, observing the terrain below while comparing it with the game map.

Fortunately, the general terrain still matched. Although the real terrain was much larger, some outlines and mountain ranges were the same.

After finding the corresponding location, Xia Yu flew towards Sal Terrae.

In a short while, the ruins located in the middle of the lake appeared before his eyes, with an azure magic circle sealing the entrance in the center of the ruins.

Surrounded by mountains and grasslands, he could also see many monsters and hilichurls.

"I wonder if the monsters here are delicious?"

Xia Yu watched a Whopperflower drill into the ground, pondering this profound question, but after a moment, he gave up thinking.

This question should be left to Zombie Xia Yu; he only needed to be responsible for handing the ingredients over to him.

Soon, he turned his attention back to the sealing array in the middle of the lake, but as he looked, Xia Yu suddenly felt the array looked a bit familiar.

The next second, he remembered—this array was extremely similar to the one that had sealed him; it must have come from the same person.

"Just how many things did that guy Zhongli seal..."

Xia Yu was somewhat speechless, but it was understandable. The seal here was likely to prevent the leakage of divine power; no matter how weak an Archon was, they were not something humans could resist.

Even small amounts of Archon residue could cause major problems, let alone the ruins of a dead Archon.

However, the method to break this seal was simple: he just needed to light up several elemental monuments in order.

Although he could directly break the seal with brute force, that would be too high-profile and could easily attract unnecessary trouble.

After reviewing the puzzle-solving steps in the walkthrough video once more, Xia Yu channeled the elemental energy in the air and struck the elemental monuments in sequence.

Buzz... The struck elemental monuments suddenly made a sound, and then the weathered exterior gradually peeled off, revealing the sealing runes inside.

The next second, the runes lit up, and a rumbling sound gradually came from the seal.

The azure magic circle originally sealing the entrance dimmed, and the surrounding lake water, as if finding an opening, began to pour into the entrance.

To prevent the ruins from being flooded before they could be explored, Xia Yu once again channeled the elemental energy in the air. The next moment, a cracking sound came from the lake water.

A second later, the lake water that was still rushing towards the ruins was frozen solid, and the surrounding air temperature dropped sharply.

After finishing all this, Xia Yu leaped down toward the entrance of the ruins.

During his descent, Xia Yu released his divine sense to perceive his surroundings, searching for the true entrance to the ruins.

Although Sal Terrae was a ruin, it was also the city where the God of Salt and her people lived; naturally, it wasn't as small as it appeared in the game.

Moreover, there was no game guidance here, so he could only search carefully by himself.

His expanded divine sense quickly enveloped the entire ruins, and before long, Xia Yu found the city entrance.

At the city entrance were two tightly closed stone doors, but no seal was applied to them; they were pushed open with just a gentle shove.

The next moment, the scenery at the entrance came into Xia Yu's view.

It was fine salt as white as snow; grains of salt covered the entire ground. Besides the floor, even the surrounding walls and ceiling were covered in salt.

In the city's corridors stood snowy white statues of human figures. If Xia Yu didn't have such good eyesight, an ordinary person seeing these white figures would surely be scared half to death.

Looking at a white statue not far away, Xia Yu stepped forward and gave it a light poke. In an instant, the statue turned into a pile of salt.

The pile of salt was no different from the grains covering the ground. Feeling the divine power of the Archon lingering on the salt pile, Xia Yu sighed softly.

"Even gods die. I wonder if I will suffer from erosion."

Suppressing the slight gloom that suddenly rose in his heart, Xia Yu reached out and hooked the trace of divine power from the salt pile into his hand.

He then used his own divine power to analyze the power of the God of Salt. A moment later, his eyes lit up.

"Found it."

He felt the two relics that accumulated the power of the God of Salt.

With guidance, he flew directly toward the target via the shortest distance. This ruin was not like the game; he didn't encounter any monsters blocking his way.

About a few minutes later, Xia Yu arrived at a relatively intact room. Inside, like the outside, salt grains and white statues in poses of flight were everywhere.

These white statues were once living humans, only turning into salt statues after being eroded by the power of the God of Salt.

At the end of the room was a stone table, on which sat an exquisite jar filled halfway with salt grains.

"That was quite easy."

Xia Yu stepped forward and picked up the Salt Chalice placed there. Upon careful perception, he also sensed the Authority of Salt within it.

Authority is a power inherent to every Archon, just like his Authority of Souls. Regarding souls, he could say that in this land of Teyvat, no Archon knew more about souls than he did.

The Salt Chalice left behind by the God of Salt was the same. Although she had died, the remaining Authority of Salt still resided on this chalice.

This residual Authority of Salt allowed the salt in the chalice to be inexhaustible, equivalent to having endless salt that could be poured out of the chalice.

Hmm... why does this feel a bit pathetic?
