A few days later…
Dominic brought Mila back to the mansion. "You've been discharged, but you are not fully recovered," he reminded her. "Don't forget what the doctor said. You need proper rest."
Mila nodded. "I know how to take care of myself. Don't worry. You should keep yourself busy."
Dominic leaned in closer to her. "Why do I feel like you're trying to push me away?" he murmured, his breath warm against her skin. His finger traced slowly along her arm. "I can stay with you if you want."
Mila gently pushed him back. "You've already stayed with me these past few days. Don't you have things to handle?"
"I am the boss. And I don't have to run around everywhere all the time. A phone call is enough to make things happen."
"I know everyone respects you and follows your commands. But you should look around closely. You have to find out who else is working with the enemy."
Dominic nodded understandingly. "Yes." His eyes darkened. "I need to identify the traitors. But…"
