Dominic didn't say a word on the way back.
The silence in the car was suffocating.
Mila sat rigid beside him, her hands clenched in her lap, her heart pounding with every passing second. She could feel the storm building inside him.
The moment the car stopped at the mansion, he stepped out. Before she could react, his hand wrapped around her wrist, and he pulled her along. His grip was firm, unyielding, leaving no room for resistance.
"Don't drag me," she protested. "I can walk myself."
He wouldn't listen. He wouldn't answer. His back was rigid as he walked through the hall quickly.
The guards stiffened in their places. Servants lowered their heads.
No one dared to look.
The tension around him was palpable. Dominic dragged her straight to his room. The door slammed shut behind them.
The sound echoed.
Mila flinched.
