Two days later, Grimm arrived at Dressrosa — a kingdom abandoned centuries ago by the Donquixote family, now a poor nation ruled by the Riku family.
BOOM!
Grimm, who had been resting with his eyes closed, was suddenly awakened by the roar of cannons.
Opening his eyes, he saw thick black smoke rising from the direction of their destination island in the distance.
"What's going on? Is there a war going on?" Grimm stood up and asked.
Young Hancock stood at the very tip of the bow, holding a telescope.
"Lord Grimm… it looks like pirates have raided the kingdom. There are two pirate ships in total, and they're heading straight toward us. We'll collide in less than ten minutes."
"You handle the ship well enough?" Grimm stepped to her left.
"I… I used to be a member of the Kuja Pirates too, you know!" Hancock said shyly — she hadn't yet developed the proud, haughty manner she would have in the future.
But her tone changed instantly, and she blushed bright red, waving her hands excitedly. "But of course… now I'm a proud member of the Holy Light Pirates!"
Oh boy… Grimm sighed internally. So that hopelessly infatuated trait of hers started this early, did it?
Except because of me, the object of her obsession has shifted from Luffy — who won't even be born for another decade or so — straight onto me.
He returned to his seat and ordered her to speed up.
Hancock responded enthusiastically, pushing the ship to full speed so suddenly that Sonia and Mary stumbled and nearly fell overboard.
"Nee‑san, have you lost your mind?! Lord Grimm… what exactly are you planning?!" Sonia cried out, gripping the railing as they raced toward impact.
"Crash right into them, obviously. It's not like this ship is anything special — we stole it in Sabaody anyway," Grimm replied casually.
Two days ago, he had sent Planck ahead with orders to sail from the Sanctuary to Dressrosa, accompanied by Yasuo. Jianna remained behind to guard their main base.
Even if this ship got wrecked, it didn't matter — though traveling from the Sanctuary normally took at least three months…
CRASH!
Five seconds later…
Grimm's vessel smashed straight through one of the pirate ships — a red‑hulled galleon — shattering it completely. The wreckage spun 180 degrees in the sea, flinging pirates everywhere.
"Eek!"
A young red‑haired girl — who clearly looked nothing like the monstrous, mutated‑looking pirates on board — slipped and fell hard onto the deck, twisting her ankle in the process.
She lay there in pain… but naturally, no one bothered to show any gentlemanly concern.
Grimm brought his ship to a halt and turned to the three sisters behind him.
"Have you ever killed anyone before?"
The girls froze for a second, then nodded one after another. Before being captured and sold into slavery, they had already been reserve members of the Kuja Pirates.
On their very first voyage and mission, they had been ambushed and taken by traffickers — but during that battle, yes, they had killed enemies.
"Good. Leave alive none who dare to raise weapons and resist. Go forth… and purify this wickedness."
Grimm stepped across onto the tilted, shattered deck of the red ship.
"Yes, Sir!"
They answered in unison, leaped over the gap, and landed directly on the second pirate vessel.
Meanwhile, the pirates knocked unconscious during the collision began to wake up.
They looked around in confusion, only to realize their ship was broken, listing heavily, and sinking fast.
Then they turned — and saw a lone figure standing calmly on their deck.
While they sized him up, Grimm was also looking them over. After a moment he spoke:
"With such small numbers and such weak fighting power… how did you even manage to make it into the New World?"
He stood right in front of the young red‑haired girl — about fifteen or sixteen years old, slightly older than Hancock — who was sitting on the ground clutching her injured ankle, staring curiously at the man in the white coat.
"What did you just say, kid?! You've got some nerve—!"
"Wait, Captain! STOP!"
The short, stout pirate captain shouted in anger, ready to charge — but his subordinate grabbed his arm in panic.
"Huh?! What is it?!"
"H‑h‑h‑him… he's… h‑he's the Supreme Pontiff Grimm!!" the pirate screamed, eyes bulging.
"Supreme Pontiff… Gr… Gr…?"
The captain stammered, the words dying in his throat.
The Supreme Pontiff Grimm…
The name clicked. In two seconds, his expression shifted from arrogance to cold sweat pouring down his face.
Isn't he one of the Four Emperors?! His bounty is second only to Whitebeard's! The madman who dared to attack the World Government itself?!
Rumor said he had vanished after the battle at Mary Geoise four months ago. What is he doing here?!
Many pirates immediately collapsed in terror, wetting themselves in fear.
W‑why would someone like him be here?! Go fight an Admiral or a pirate worth billions — leave us alone!!
"RUN!!"
"How? Where?!"
"JUMP INTO THE SEA, YOU IDIOTS!!"
Grimm clenched his hands. His shield flew out instantly, smashing into their heads one after another. In seconds, every pirate lay dead on the deck.
"Only fifteen men total… and this level of strength. I still don't get how you even survived this far…"
THUD!
He turned at the sound behind him. The young girl had curled up in the corner of the ship, nowhere left to retreat to, waving her hands frantically in fear.
"N‑n‑no! I'm not a pirate! Please… please don't kill me!"
Grimm looked at her carefully for a long moment.
"Are you a member of the Dressrosa royal family?"
"Ehh… y‑you know who I am?" She hesitated in surprise.
"I think so… my memory's a bit fuzzy… but you do look familiar somehow."
He leaned down, studying her face closely — until their faces were barely ten centimeters apart.
"Princess Scarlet!!"
A deep, powerful voice roared from the sea.
A tall, muscular man of about twenty‑five hauled himself over the railing. He was bare‑chested, wearing only fighting shorts.
But the moment he climbed aboard and shouted the princess's name, he saw a strange man leaning extremely close to her — and she looked terrified and cornered.
His mind raced instantly: I won't let those pirates dishonor Her Highness!
He raised his gladiator sword high and yelled, "Get away from Princess Scarlet, you pirate scum!"
Grimm rubbed his head and straightened up, recalling slowly.
"Scarlet… Rebecca… I suppose they must be related somehow."
"LORD GRIMM!!"
The three sisters, having finished their "cleanup" on the other ship, arrived just in time to see this scene. Hancock kicked the man flying with a single blow.
"You do NOT raise your voice to Lord Grimm!"
But the man was clearly well‑trained. Instead of falling into the sea, he caught the railing with one hand at the last second, steadied himself, and leaped back onto the deck.
