"After the sounds of battle ended, many people who had lingered outside the tavern flocked into it.
Seeing several severed bodies lying on the messy floor, and given the high distinctiveness of fish-people, they immediately found Kraken's headless corpse, stunning them. The pirates then fled the tavern again.
This was Whitebeard Pirates' territory, and the death of someone from a Whitebeard-affiliated pirate crew was the hottest news for the locals.
In less than an hour, the news of Kraken, captain of the Golden Octopus Pirates, being killed spread throughout the town of Newk's Harbor.
Meanwhile, Grimm stayed at the tavern for another hour. The tavern owner dared not offend such a powerful figure and naturally served him good wine and meat. Grimm, naturally, did not treat him poorly either.
After drinking, Grimm generously gave Sean, the owner, five million Beli. Sean was overjoyed. Five million might not be a lot for pirates, but for a small tavern, it was at least half a month's revenue, not counting expenses.
However, Sean was also extremely anxious and nervous. Whitebeard's son had been killed here; how would he explain this?
When Grimm returned to the ship, it was already evening.
Plank was already fiddling with his dozen or so orange trees at the front of the deck, making the deck muddy. Grimm really wanted to slap Plank to death.
Jiana, like a wooden person, continued to read her magic book. Grimm didn't know if she had learned her "Cosmic Super Invincible Ice Spike" yet!
"Boss, are we departing now?" Plank poked his head out from among the orange trees and asked.
Departing now?
Don't be ridiculous. After a week of sailing, they had finally reached shore. How could they leave immediately? They definitely had to relax for a few days! Moreover, the service at the tavern was excellent, wasn't it?
Perhaps in a couple more days, they might even see the captains of the Whitebeard Pirates. After all, Whitebeard's protectiveness of his crew was known throughout the world. Upon learning that his beloved son, Squidward, had died here, how could he remain indifferent?
After spending a night on the ship, by noon the next day, the entire Newk's Harbor was eerily quiet, like the calm before a storm.
"Plank, Jiana, guard the ship well. I'm going for a drink. If anyone tries to touch our ship, take their lives!" Grimm said, yawning, and jumped ashore.
"No problem, Boss!" Plank took a swig of rum and continued fishing.
As for Jiana, she had been reading her magic book for a day and a night without sleep, which startled Grimm.
"What's wrong, Lord Grandmaster Grimm? I have a feeling something is about to happen!" Jiana temporarily put down her magic book.
"There might be a major battle in the next few days!" Grimm took a deep breath, appearing somewhat excited!
"Boss, who is it?" Plank asked.
"Whitebeard's son, whom I killed!" Grimm said calmly, though his heart was already turbulent.
"Whitebeard!" Upon hearing the name, Plank seemed even more excited than Grimm. "You mean the one known as the strongest pirate, the pirate with the highest bounty in this world, Whitebeard: Edward Newgate?"
"Ah! That's right!"
"That's great! If we can take his head, we'll be rich!" Plank laughed heartily.
"Don't be careless. We can't kill Whitebeard yet!" Grimm maintained his rationality. "Alright, enough talk. I'm going for a drink!"
Grimm knew that he had made an enemy of Whitebeard, and it might be irreconcilable.
But so what? Grimm wished Whitebeard would come and fight him. What was there to fear? At worst, Plank could sail away, and he could use the Hearthstone!
...
Last night, while cleaning up, the tavern owner found something: Grimm's wanted poster. He stared at it for a long time before finally reacting: "A bounty of 700 million? No wonder he dared to defy Whitebeard's authority!"
Today, just as the tavern opened in the afternoon, Grimm walked in leisurely. Sean swallowed hard, feeling somewhat helpless. He had to continue serving customers. What would Whitebeard's men think if he didn't? If he refused, he might be directly killed.
"Um, Shopkeeper, are you going to kick him out? I heard Whitebeard's men are already on their way!" The woman in yellow, who was involved in the incident yesterday, asked Sean after hesitating for a few seconds.
Sean put on a bewildered face. Kick him out? Come on, you try kicking out a monster with a 700 million bounty.
But thinking about Whitebeard's bounty, he wondered if he should just run away…
Living is so hard!
Thinking this, Sean felt it was better to just deal with this troublemaker.
With that thought, Sean said to the silent woman in blue: "Aliyah, I'll leave this to you. You entertain our guest."
"Yes!" Aliyah responded. She had already become Grimm's devout follower. So, even without Sean's instruction, she would serve Grimm. No matter what Grimm asked, she would agree, even at the cost of her life.
After all, the great Holy Light was so benevolent. Although she had never seen the Holy Light, she firmly believed in it.
This was the power of the "Enchantment" skill, directly turning someone into a fanatical believer!
The other four women were stunned. "Sister, you…"
"It's okay, sisters. Lord Grimm won't hurt us!" The woman in blue said, then immediately led the four trembling women to Grimm's table to pour him drinks.
"Why is it so quiet? Are there no performances today?" Grimm took a sip of beer and said.
Aliyah calmly replied: "I'm sorry, Lord Grimm. Because of yesterday's events, many people are afraid to come to work!"
Grimm chuckled lightly: "Working in the New World, and you don't have this much courage?"
The woman in yellow next to him couldn't help but roll her eyes. They had never encountered such a situation before. This was Whitebeard's territory; who dared to offend the strongest pirate in the world? Did they want to die? Or was being his son not fragrant enough?
Grimm didn't say anything further. He was waiting for Whitebeard Pirates' men to arrive because Grimm knew Whitebeard would never let go of someone who harmed his crewmate.
But his old rivals, Roger, Shiki, and Garp, were all still alive. As long as one had the strength, it didn't matter if they offended Whitebeard himself.
Grimm was very curious about what kind of people Whitebeard would send, or perhaps, would he come himself?
Since Newk's Harbor was Whitebeard's territory, there was naturally no Marine branch established there.
In fact, ninety percent of the islands in the New World were not managed by the Navy. Of the remaining ten percent, only a very small number had Marine branches; at most, there were just a few Navy patrol teams.
Currently, the large-scale Navy bases in the New Century were only G1 and G5 branches!
Those who could reach here were usually elite pirates. If the Navy or World Government wanted to capture them, sending warships directly was more reliable.
On a small island very close to Newk's Harbor, a pirate crew was resting on the beach.
The Maelstrom Spider Pirates, captained by Squard. Although he had not yet joined the Whitebeard Pirates, he had a very good relationship with Kraken of the Golden Octopus Pirates!
