Perhaps even surpassing Goku.
Yet in the original timeline, that potential had been wasted again and again.
"This time… that won't happen."
Krillin silently made a promise to himself.
He walked over and patted Goku on the shoulder.
"Goku, come here for a moment."
The two stepped onto the balcony.
Krillin handed him a can of juice and spoke seriously.
"Your son, Gohan… has far greater potential than you imagine. Even greater than yours."
"Really? That's awesome!" Goku said happily while finishing the drink in one gulp.
"As expected of my kid!"
Krillin rolled his eyes, "What's awesome about it? Look at him right now. What has Chi-Chi turned him into? He's timid, avoids conflict, and cries when things go wrong.
If this continues, his talent will be buried under math homework and piano lessons."
Goku scratched his head, confused, "But Chi-Chi just wants him to become a scholar. Isn't that good? Then he wouldn't have to fight."
"Good my ass," Krillin snapped.
"Peace doesn't come from wishing for it—it comes from strength. What if a powerful enemy appears one day? Someone far beyond what we've seen?
If something happens to you, who will protect Chi-Chi and Gohan?"
Krillin's words hit Goku hard.
He remembered the day King Piccolo appeared without warning.
The smile slowly faded from his face.
Krillin sighed and softened his tone.
"I'm not blaming Chi-Chi. She's afraid. As a wife and mother, she just wants her family safe. That's completely understandable."
Goku fell silent.
He remembered Chi-Chi's worried expressions every time he went out to train.
For the first time, he realized that behind her scolding was genuine fear.
"So what should I do?" Goku asked.
"For now? Nothing," Krillin answered immediately.
"If you oppose Chi-Chi directly, it will only cause conflict. Leave this to me."
In Krillin's mind, a long-term strategy had already formed.
The Godfather Nurturing Plan.
He didn't plan to take Gohan away from Chi-Chi.
Instead, he would guide things slowly and subtly.
Krillin turned back toward the living room.
"Bulma," he said suddenly, "it's time to upgrade the Gravity Room."
Bulma looked surprised.
"Upgrade? Doesn't it already reach five times gravity?"
"Not enough," Krillin shook his head.
"I want a Gravity Room that starts at ten times gravity."
"And the upper limit… should have no limit. The interior space must be ten times larger, and it should simulate extreme environments—high heat, extreme cold, acid rain, and so on."
Bulma stared at him, "Are you trying to build a miniature planet in there?"
But then her scientist instincts ignited.
Her eyes sparkled.
"That sounds amazing. I'll take the project. Budget doesn't matter."
Krillin smiled.
Step one: complete.
Next, he walked toward Chi-Chi with a friendly smile.
"Chi-Chi, it seems Gohan likes playing with Trunks. When you have time, bring him over more often. The kids can play here."
Chi-Chi looked over.
Gohan and Trunks were currently arguing over a pastry while examining a robot model.
Although Gohan was still shy, he looked much more relaxed now.
Chi-Chi nodded.
"That's fine—as long as it doesn't affect his studies."
"Of course," Krillin replied.
But he knew the real moment hadn't arrived yet.
That moment would come when Raditz appeared.
When Goku sacrificed himself to protect Earth.
When Chi-Chi saw her husband die and her son taken away by Piccolo.
Only then would she truly understand how cruel the universe could be.
At that time, Krillin would step forward as Gohan's godfather and guide his training.
Chi-Chi wouldn't refuse.
She might even support it.
Krillin looked at Gohan and Trunks, who were now arguing loudly while playing.
His eyes softened.
Then he opened the System panel.

There was still time.
And Krillin also had his own preparations to complete.
