Chapter 166 - Chapter 166: Acknowledging a Master

Tang San had never met his mother since childhood. Hearing Tai Long speak about her was enough to provoke him.

His eyes turned cold as he said,

"Enough talking. Let's settle this with our fists."

Tai Long sneered.

"Fine. Since you're asking for it, I have no reason not to teach you a lesson."

"If you've got the guts, meet me at the academy's training arena. If not, keep your tail between your legs."

With a gloomy expression, Tang San headed toward the nearest training arena.

Xiao Wu glanced coldly at Tai Long before suddenly laughing.

If beating Tai Long up could help Tang San vent his frustration, then she could only pity Tai Long for becoming his punching bag.

Tai Long, however, completely misunderstood her smile. He thought his display of manliness had completely won her over.

When the Shrek Seven Devils first arrived at Blue Tyrant Academy, Tai Long had been the academy team's captain.

In the end, however, he was removed from the team to make room for them.

He had been furious and had even considered leaving the academy.

Later, when Seven Treasure Academy began recruiting students, Tai Long thought he had finally found a new opportunity.

What he didn't know was that the Strength Clan had always been loyal supporters of the Clear Sky Clan.

Since Seven Treasure Academy was backed by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, Tai Tan would never allow him to betray the Clear Sky Clan.

As a result, Tai Long received a severe beating and was forced to remain at Shrek Academy.

Of course, Tai Tan never explained the real reason.

Instead, Tai Long directed all his resentment toward the Shrek Seven Devils.

Previously, the Shrek Seven Devils had built an impressive reputation at the Grand Spirit Arena and were also the new headmaster's favored disciples.

Naturally, no one dared provoke them.

But after last night's crushing defeat, combined with all the recent rumors, the Shrek Seven Devils' reputation had fallen to rock bottom.

As Tang San walked through the academy, students pointed at him and whispered among themselves.

In the end, all of his bottled-up anger found its outlet in Tai Long.

On the training arena, there was no referee.

The moment both of them stepped onto the platform, they began fighting.

Unfortunately for Tai Long, he wasn't Wu Qi.

Against Tang San's Tang Sect techniques, he had absolutely no way to respond.

The outcome was inevitable.

Tang San beat him until his face was bruised and swollen before throwing him off the platform.

"Trash like you had better stay out of my way from now on."

"If you bother me again, I'll beat you every single time."

Tang San's ruthless gaze frightened Tai Long.

He hurriedly nodded before scrambling to his feet and fleeing back to his clan.

What followed unfolded much like it had in the original timeline.

After the younger generation was beaten, the elders stepped in.

Relying on his hidden weapons, Tang San thoroughly defeated the Spirit King Tai Nuo, inadvertently restoring much of his lost confidence.

After that came Tai Tan's arrival.

When Tang San revealed his Clear Sky Hammer Spirit, Tai Tan immediately knelt before him and pledged his allegiance.

At Seven Treasure Academy, Wu Qi sought out Dugu Bo to discuss entering seclusion at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

At this point, the Shrek Seven Devils had become the biggest source of gossip throughout Heaven Dou City.

Now, with Tai Tan causing a scene outside Shrek Academy, rumors had already spread across the city that he intended to tear the academy down.

Dugu Bo mentioned it casually, but Wu Qi found it rather surprising.

Things had developed very differently from the original timeline.

Tang San had stayed by Xiao Wu's side the entire time.

If Tai Long intended to challenge him, he could have done so much earlier.

Why had he waited until now?

Wu Qi couldn't understand the logic behind it.

Still, one thing was certain.

This incident had successfully diverted Tang San's attention.

Wu Qi had originally hoped to completely crush Tang San's confidence after their battle.

Instead, this unexpected turn of events had given him another opportunity to recover.

It could only be said that Tang San's fortune was still remarkably strong.

Fortunately, Wu Qi wasn't particularly concerned.

As long as the Shrek Seven Devils were destined to compete in the Spirit Master Tournament, he would have plenty of opportunities to break Tang San's confidence again.

Dugu Bo chuckled.

"You really didn't hold back. You completely shut out the Shrek Team."

"That match attracted the attention of quite a few people watching from the shadows. I imagine many now see your team as unbeatable."

"The upcoming tournament might end up being rather dull."

Wu Qi smiled faintly.

"Isn't that a good thing? If we can make our opponents surrender before the fight even begins, why bother fighting at all?"

After all, every opponent would have hidden trump cards.

If they were caught off guard during a match and had to reveal their own secrets just to secure victory, the tradeoff simply wouldn't be worth it.

"Old man, in a little while I'd like to borrow the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. I'll also need your help hunting a Spirit Beast."

Dugu Bo gave him a strange look.

"So soon? You're already preparing for your fifth Spirit Ring?"

Thinking about the age of Wu Qi's fourth Spirit Ring, his fifth certainly wouldn't be an ordinary one.

Even with Dugu Bo's strength, dealing with a Spirit Beast that had cultivated for over eighty thousand years would be extremely difficult.

At the rate Wu Qi was progressing, it probably wouldn't be long before even Dugu Bo was no longer strong enough to help him hunt Spirit Beasts.

Tai Tan's sudden appearance had alarmed Flender, Grandmaster, and Liu Erlong, who all rushed out expecting a fierce battle.

To their complete surprise, the powerful Spirit Douluo Tai Tan immediately knelt before Tang San.

Out of respect for a Spirit Douluo, Shrek Academy dared not show any disrespect.

Following Tai Tan's request, they arranged a quiet room where he and Tang San could speak in private.

Inside one of the academy's reception rooms.

"Young Master, this old servant greets you."

Tai Tan lowered his posture completely, even taking the initiative to bow respectfully.

A Spirit Douluo bowing to him left Tang San completely stunned.

He hurriedly stepped forward and helped Tai Tan to his feet.

After hearing about Tang Hao from Tai Tan, Tang San's attention was completely diverted.

At that moment, all he wanted to know was where his father had gone.

The defeat from the previous night no longer weighed on his mind.

From Tang San's perspective, he had never seen his father again after entering a Spirit Master academy.

In his previous life, he had never experienced true family affection.

Because of that, he treasured it even more in this life.

Faced with Tang San's questions, Tai Tan seemed to understand what he was thinking and answered only partially.

"Young Master, the Master was the youngest Titled Douluo on the continent and the former Young Clan Master of the Clear Sky Clan."

"A great incident occurred back then, forcing the Master to leave the Clear Sky Clan."

"As for the details, I cannot say. You'll have to wait until the Master tells you himself."

Tang Hao had never revealed the truth because he never wanted Tang San to become involved in that conflict.

Perhaps that was for the best.

At least, before his identity became public, Tang San still had plenty of time to grow stronger without being consumed by hatred.

Now that he had finally learned something about his father, Tang San naturally wasn't willing to let the opportunity slip away.

He continued asking.

"Senior Tai Tan, is my father really a Titled Douluo? Then why was he only a blacksmith when we lived in the village?"

At the mention of blacksmithing, Tai Tan smiled.

"Young Master, our Strength Clan has always been a clan of blacksmiths. You should know how much the Clear Sky Hammer Spirit helps with forging."

"Back then, the Master learned blacksmithing under my guidance."

"He possessed extraordinary talent and achieved an extremely high level of craftsmanship. His forging skills were easily among the finest on the continent."

Tang San couldn't deny that.

Back in Holy Spirit Village, Tang Hao's unpleasant personality had made both father and son unpopular with the villagers.

The only reason they had been allowed to stay was because the farming tools Tang Hao forged were exceptionally well made and far more durable than those crafted by the previous village blacksmith.

After leaving Holy Spirit Village and hearing Tai Tan's explanation, Tang San's opinion of Old Jack plummeted.

Back then, Old Jack had frequently visited their home in order to obtain better farming tools.

He had always looked after Tang San and even treated him like his own grandson.

Now, Tang San believed all of that kindness had simply been to secure better tools.

Realizing he might have been used left Tang San deeply displeased.
