"Boss, I told you we should've come sooner, but you just had to mind your image and walk over slowly." Lucky Roux looked at the battlefield, which was divided into several sections, and found people everywhere.
"This is a live broadcast; of course, Boss has to mind his image. What if he loses face?" Yasopp looked around, searching for the Blackbeard Pirates' sniper.
When he finally found Van Augur, he saw him being miserably chased and beaten by Katakuri.
"To think Van Augur would run into the most troublesome enemy," Yasopp sighed. "What a pity..."
"Indeed, Katakuri completely counters him; that guy is practically the natural enemy of all snipers."
Shanks observed for a moment. Katakuri didn't dodge any of Van Augur's attacks. Only when the bullets were a few centimeters away would his body turn into mochi and create holes to let them pass through, appearing completely composed.
Katakuri just approached Van Augur step by step, putting immense pressure on him.
"Is this fate?" Van Augur smiled bitterly. "I didn't expect to be toyed with by fate in the end."
When an enemy's Observation Haki is strong enough to predict the trajectory of bullets, what can a sniper do?
Whether it's bullets infused with Haki or Sea Stone bullets, they're useless if they don't hit the enemy.
"I almost want to go help Van Augur." Seeing a fellow sniperase Van Augur reduced to such a state, Yasopp felt a bit of shared sorrow.
"I forgot you and Van Augur have some history. Could the two of you win against Katakuri together?" Shanks asked with interest.
"Unless the speed of the bullets exceeds the limit of his reaction, there's no chance." Yasopp shook his head.
And one would have to shoot from outside the range of Katakuri's Observation Haki.
Van Augur also noticed Yasopp's arrival.
He suddenly ignored Katakuri's approach, raised his beloved rifle 'Senriku' and aimed it at Yasopp, a faint smile appearing on his battered face.
Yasopp immediately understood his intention and raised his own long gun.
Two gunshots rang out. Yasopp's shoulder was pierced by a bullet, while Van Augur fell to the ground with a bullet between his brows.
Thank you, fate, for not letting me die so miserably in the end.
Van Augur, the sniper and Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates' Third Ship, known as 'The Supersonic', has died in battle.
Katakuri glanced over, and Yasopp quickly explained, "He already had a death wish; I just gave him a dignified death..."
Katakuri said nothing and walked away silently.
"I wanted Usopp to witness a duel between top-tier snipers, but that's gone now." Yasopp didn't care about the wound on his shoulder; instead, he was annoyed that he couldn't show off his strength to his son.
"It seems snipers have their limits. Come learn to cook with me, Yasopp. It's not too late to switch careers and become a chef." Lucky Roux laughed heartily.
"Fortunately, there's only one guy like Katakuri who has trained his Observation Haki to the absolute limit. I really would have to change careers," Yasopp said.
"As expected of the Charlotte Family's greatest masterpiece. A bounty of 1.057 billion Berries is a bit low," Shanks said. "Give him a few more years, and he can grow to the level of the Four Emperors."
"That guy with the same hair color as you has a 3 billion bounty. The World Government is a joke." Beckman felt that Kid was likely no match for Katakuri.
"How did all these talents end up in the Buggy Pirates?" Shanks felt a bit bitter again. "I'll go check things out over there; you guys go have fun."
Good luck, Blackbeard. Give that guy a piece of your mind, or he'll get too big for his boots.
"The question is, where to go?" Lucky Roux looked around and found Jack's trail.
"See ya, I'm going to find my little brother Jack."
"That damn fatty, he could've at least helped treat me..." Yasopp simply tore a piece of cloth to wrap his wound. "But Usopp and the others are so slow. I hope the fight isn't over by the time they arrive."
Yasopp gazed into the distance.
Out on the sea, the Thousand Sunny was cutting through the waves.
Inside the cabin, the projection transponder snail Law brought out was broadcasting the situation on Whole Cake Island.
"I wonder if we'll make it in time..." At this moment, Usopp was the most anxious person.
A war between Four Emperors Crews—this was a feat he could write extensively about in his diary. How could he miss it?
Besides, in all his years at sea, when had Usopp ever fought such a "wealthy" battle?
Just looking at those allies, Usopp knew this was a guaranteed win. He just needed to go up and fire a few slingshot rounds to become a participant in the War of the Four Emperors.
"I'm going to the engine room to urge Franky." Usopp felt that the Thousand Sunny could go even faster.
"It's rare for Usopp to be this enthusiastic. Hey, Saw-tooth Man, why are you so down?" Luffy asked.
Because of that damn Buggy!
When he first learned Buggy had started a worldwide broadcast, Kid was actually quite happy.
It was a rare opportunity to show his strength to the world and gain the title of Four Emperors.
Two happy things overlapped. These two joys should have brought even more joy, resulting in a dream-like happy time... But, why did it turn out like this... why did Clown Buggy call so many people?
"Damn it, the War of the Four Emperors turned out to be a three-on-one! They have no shame!"
Even if they got there, so what? The officers of the Four Emperors Crews were ganging up on people like small fry.
Unless he could kill Blackbeard with a single shot, who would even notice him?
"Clown Buggy, you've destroyed my dream!"
"He thought he was the protagonist, but ended up as one of many supporting characters—and one ranked dozens of places down at that. That's probably how Kid-ya feels," Law said mockingly.
"I'm going out for some air." The kid stood up and left the cabin, not even wanting to watch the broadcast anymore.
"Sigh... if he wants to be the protagonist, he can just challenge others..." Luffy hadn't finished speaking when Law covered his mouth.
"Stop provoking him!"
Law was a bit helpless; Luffy really was a bit dense about certain things.
How did Kid lose his arm in the first place?
Did he really think Red-Haired Shanks and Clown Buggy were good-tempered people? Just look at the miserable state of the Blackbeard Pirates.
If he challenged people recklessly again, the next time they saw him, he'd be a Mechanical Kid...
"Wait, that actually sounds kind of cool..."
"Fine. I wanted to show off my skills too; my Gear 5 would definitely give Shanks a surprise." Luffy was actually a bit disappointed. "But Blackbeard should be able to hold out for a bit longer; maybe we can make it."
"Definitely. The Blackbeard Pirates still have a few capable fighters," Law said.
"However, being watched by so many people while fighting... I hope they have strong enough mental fortitude."
