Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Hulk & Abomination, Brothers in Misery

"You know what I paid to hire her?"

Fury's tone was harsh. "Since I hired Miss Witch, I'm confident in taking down these two monsters. I'll say it again—no matter what happens, just watch."

"This isn't a suggestion. It's a warning! If you anger her, don't say I didn't warn you about the consequences."

Ross frowned.

First time seeing Nick Fury this forceful.

Seems that little girl below gave him strong confidence. But what did he say... Miss Witch?

Witch—some kind of superpower codename?

Surely Nick Fury doesn't mean this little girl is an actual witch?

In the field, Hermione watched one yellow, one green blob roll from left to right, then right to left. Zero intention of acknowledging her. Finally couldn't hold back—flicked a Disarming Charm.

Red light hit Abomination.

"RIP!"

Abomination's elastic waistband instantly shredded.

Watching the exposed situation flutter in the wind, both beasts fell silent again.

Now Hulk understood—this little thing was the culprit.

Next second, both simultaneously looked at Hermione. Eyes bloodshot.

"ROAR!!"

This moment, united against a common enemy. Charged straight at Hermione!

"Confringo!"

Another triple explosion.

As expected, both unharmed. But charging momentum interrupted.

Hermione didn't really expect lv3 Blasting Curse to beat these two. Just delaying their movements.

"Mirror Dimension!"

While the two monsters were stunned, Hermione waved her wand lightly. Instantly space shattered like glass. Enveloped Hulk.

Seeing Hulk vanish before him, Abomination looked around. No Hulk in sight. Roared skyward. "Hulk! Come out!"

Then seemed to react. Looked at Hermione. "Where did you hide Hulk?!"

Hermione grinned. "Don't you like fighting? Forget that guy. I'll fight you. Beat me and I'll release Hulk to continue with you."

"Seeking death!"

First the earlier grudge, now this hatred. Abomination couldn't hold back. Eyes turned violent. Leaped high. Charged at Hermione.

Imagining Hermione's frail body crushed, Blonsky showed a cruel smile.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

Just as Abomination was about to hit, felt his blood chill. Limbs controlled by mysterious force. Involuntarily pressed to his sides.

Then fell straight down from the sky. Crashed heavily on the ground.

"THUD!"

Spider-web cracks spread beneath him.

Huh? What happened?

Abomination forcefully broke free from the binding curse. Shook his dizzy head.

Seeing Hermione unharmed in the sky, his already insufficient brain was too lazy to think. Jumped again.

"Petrificus Totalus!"

Then body chilled. Fell straight down.

"THUD!"

Repeated several times. Each time inexplicably knocked down mid-air. Abomination finally reacted. Roared. "It's you! What did you do?!"

High ground advantage... Hermione waved her wand. Made a dismissive gesture.

Low damage, extreme humiliation.

She was also helpless. Wanted to test if she could subdue Abomination in one move. Turned out she was overthinking.

For power levels like Hulk and Abomination, lv3 Full Body-Bind Curse could only control them for an instant. Insufficient to completely suppress them.

But in others' eyes—pure toying.

Abomination's massive body like a ball. Batted around by the black-robed little girl.

"Forget it, done playing."

Feeling Hulk jumping wildly in the Mirror Dimension, smashing randomly, Hermione's magic rapidly draining, shook her head. Time to get serious.

"Sectumsempra!"

Next instant, several bone-deep wounds appeared all over Abomination's body.

Green blood sprayed out. Splattered skyward.

"AHHH!!"

Abomination cried in pain. Staggered, knelt on the ground. Looked at the flowing blood. Face full of disbelief.

I... got injured? With such powerful strength, I actually got injured! Injured by a little girl! What kind of power is this?!

Hermione wasn't surprised by this result.

She'd already maxed out Sectumsempra's proficiency. So far, besides Avada Kedavra, this was her most powerful dark magic.

Compared to cutting charms, Sectumsempra was essentially more like spatial cutting. Used magic to prevent the wound's closure.

Not only no trajectory—could instantly activate at designated target location, impossible to guard against. Lethality far exceeded similar magic.

"Slugulus Eructo!"

Seeing Abomination still wanting to struggle, Hermione flicked white light.

Seconds later, Abomination's eyes widened. Expression changed drastically.

"Urgh—"

Slimy slugs vomited from his throat.

"Urgh—"

Abomination no longer cared about Hermione. Face turned pale. Sprawled on the ground. Vomiting madly.

Slimy slugs splattered everywhere.

Vomiting and vomiting, his form gradually shrank. Finally returned to human form. Became Blonsky again.

Hermione didn't continue attacking. One—this guy wasn't worth much energy. Two—promised Fury to capture alive if possible. Three—after thinking, spared his life.

Waved her hand. Space shattered again.

Hulk roared and charged out.

"You vomit slugs too!"

Hermione repeated the process. White light flashed. Hulk also knelt on the ground, vomiting violently.

Hermione nodded.

Petrification and binding are nothing. Slug-Vomiting Curse is the strongest control!

But angry Hulk was clearly more resistant than Abomination. Vomiting while still struggling toward Hermione.

More vomiting, more anger.

Seeing this, Hermione pulled out a small vial. Tossed it into Hulk's mouth.

Moments later, Hulk's eyes became much clearer.

Then vomited even harder.

Thud. Hulk knelt on the ground again. Trembling, pointed at Hermione. Eyes terrified. Lips moving but couldn't speak. Just "urgh"—vomited several more slugs.

"Brain-clearing potion. Specially prepared for you. How does clarity feel?"

Hermione came before Hulk. Lifted her small leg, kicked a few times.

Hulk wanted to rage. Under the potion's effect, couldn't feel any anger. Could only lie on the ground. Unable to rise. Eyes lost their light. Like a corpse.

"Tch, boring."

Hermione curled her lip.

Hulk reverted to Banner. Saw Blonsky's miserable state beside him. Couldn't help casting a sympathetic look.

The latter felt Banner's gaze. Also struggled to turn his head toward Banner. Face full of exhaustion.

Both lay on the ground. Simultaneously extended arms toward each other with difficulty.

Minutes ago—mortal enemies. Now—sharing the same misery. Gazing deeply. Like brothers in suffering.

Brother... hang... in... there...

Both read the meaning in each other's eyes.

"Urgh!"

Then simultaneously vomited a slug.
