Chapter 94 - Mini-Awakening

Maxwell rushed towards the barber at lightning speed, however, before he could land a punch, the barber had already stabbed him with the giant scissor, piercing several inches deep, causing Maxwell to vomit. "Lightning speed? Too bad...that's slow motion to me," the barber said with a devilish smile, his pleasure through the roof.

However, instead of Maxwell in despair or shock, he remained perfectly calm due to Mateo appearing out of nowhere and landing a powerful punch in the barber's face. "A barber without his tools is nothing but a simple human," Mateo said with a smirk. "That was his plan all along. He sacrificed himself so that I could land a punch on you."

"He sacrificed himself for a mere punch?" The barber said with a serious cold face as if disappointed. "How worthless."

"Worthless?" Mateo said, his eyes sharpening. "There is no man in this world that is worthless," he said, grabbing the barber's face and slamming it onto the ground. Though, it was of no use as the barber swung his giant scissor, causing Maxwell to get out but be launched quite a bit.

"Your punches are weak," the barber said with a smirk. "You're the weakest out of the three," he said, appearing behind Mateo and getting him between the two blades of the scissor.

And then proceeding to slowly bring the blades together, causing Mateo's abdomen to slowly be cut. Which eventually separated the upper and lower body, killing Mateo instantly.

"One down, two to go," the barber said, licking the blood off the scissors. "I expect you both to make it exciting."

However, in the very next second, Mateo's upper and lower body attached to each other and he stood up, a brand new aura releasing from him. He had gotten stronger and it was very noticeable. "What the...hell?! Did he just fucking awaken? Isn't that...like a...one in a million chance?!" Kael said, shaken.

"Well...he did. Technically," Maxwell said, who was too calm about all of this. "He doesn't have any abilities or a realm. However, he does have a blessing. A powerful one."

"Fucking hell," Kael said with a slight smirk. "What is his blessing anyway?"

"My blessing is called 'mini-awakening'," Mateo answered. "I can awaken an infinite amount of times. Meaning, no matter how many times I die, I'll always come back stronger. Which also means I am essentially immortal."

As soon as Mateo said this, the barber started to laugh like a maniac, unable to control his excitement. "Is that so? I must apologize and correct myself. You are the strongest out of the three...which means I'll also have to thank you...for making things more exciting."

"But...if that's true then why isn't he stronger than my father? Heck, why isn't he the strongest person in the entire world?" Kael asked, his face turning serious.

"That's where the word "mini awakening" comes in. He doesn't awaken like how a normal person would awaken because if a normal person would awaken, they would be at least 3x times stronger than their pre-awakened self. However, mini awakenings only make you 1.1x times stronger," Maxwell explained while watching Mateo and the barber fight.

"By the way...why the hell are we watching them fight..?" Kael said, processing the information. "Shouldn't you be helping?"

"Oh, right," Maxwell said, about to teleport. "You stay right there. You can't move anyway."

Meanwhile, while they were having this conversation, Mateo and the barber were fighting each other, which was an intense battle of dodges, attacks and blocks. However, despite Mateo having mini-awakened, he was no match for the barber.

Though, that would soon change as Maxwell joined in the fight, which caused the tide to turn in their favor.

While the barber was focused on having as much as fun as he could with Mateo, Maxwell came from behind and launched a lightning-fast barrage, which caused the barber to slightly stagger, giving Mateo an opportunity to land a powerful punch in his gut.

However, while this was happening, Kael felt utterly useless. He was on the ground while the two of them were fighting for their lives. He wanted to help or more accurately, prove himself. But he couldn't move and that was the reality. "No. I am Kael falcon, the one who will surpass my father, Ronx falcon! I ain't lettin' anyone steal the spotlight from me!" Kael thought, his fists clenched as hard as he could.

"Realm of melting eyes."
