Chapter 91 - Even a little?

It had been several days since Caspian's death and Rose was still in that room. She wasn't talking to anyone and no one had seen since Caspian's death, which made everyone quite worried. In fact, they were so worried that Rose's father, told Lucius to bring Kael so that he could convince Rose to get out of her room.

Which Lucius was now doing since he was right in front Kael, staring him down while Kael was on the bench. "The fuck you lookin' at?" Kael asked angrily.

"Are you Kael?" Lucius asked, still staring at him with a cold but flat expression.

"Depends," Kael said with a bit of attitude, smirking.

Lucius sharpened his eyes. "Caspian has died, which made Rose quite upset. She is in her room, not talking to anyone and I want you to get her out of that room or at least, convince her to move on," Lucius said in one breath without a single trace of emotion in his words.

Kael widened his eyes, slightly shocked and still processing what he said. "You. Who are you?"

"Lucius," Lucius answered. "I was sent here by Rose's father."

Kael slightly nodded, looking at Lucius slightly suspiciously.

"...Caspian died? Well, he had it coming for him and it isn't surprising that Rose would in grief," Kael said to himself, who then stared in Lucius's eyes. "So, why the hell have you come to me? Do I look like her babysitter to you? Or do I look like some golden retriever to you?"

Lucius didn't react much and simply said, "are you coming or not?"

Kael sighed, "I am, you bastard."

"Great," Lucius said. "Follow me."

Meanwhile, Ronx and the others had returned to Elephant City, this time with Keth.

It didn't take them long to reach Tristan's home because within twenty minutes, they were standing in front of Tristan's door with Zombie about to knock. "You all know the plan right?" Zombie asked.

All of them nodded and with that, Alex, Ronx and Keth took cover, hiding while Zombie knocked on the door. And once he did...nothing happened.

No one came for the door for a good minute.

They waited for five minutes and knocked several times but there was no sign of Tristan. "Move aside," Ronx said, launching the door into the house with a single punch. "Now, let's find this bastard."

All four of them entered the house but found no one was there. The entire house was empty, including the basement, which only had blood stains and nothing else. "Did Tristan run away?" Zombie asked, who was clearly confused.

"It's unlikely," Alex answered. "This house could be...an illusion but we have no way of testing that. My sword can cut through anything, even abilities or things you shouldn't be able to cut. However, when I had cut Tristan, the body simply faded, meaning that the body was also an illusion and nothing more than that."

"Even if I cut this house, the several other illusions will make it seem like I actually cut it," Alex said, sighing. "Which means, the only person that can counter this is you, Keth."

Keth nodded and used one of his hundreds of abilities, removing any effect of an illusion. However, surprisingly, nothing happened. "So this house isn't an illusion...did Tristan actually run? He doesn't seem like he would," Ronx said.

"The only way we can find is by searching his house...even though there is nothing here," Alex said.

-----------------------------

Kael knocked. "It's...me," he said.

"Come in," Rose said.

Kael reluctantly came in and closed the door behind him, leaving only the two of them in the room. "Did they force you to come?" Rose asked, her red eyes slightly peeking at him.

"Yes," Kael answered.

"I see. I always annoy you, don't I?" Rose said with a sad smile. "Even I could tell that you didn't like me from the start and only went along with it because Caspian forced you."

Kael continued listening.

"The truth is...I told him to do that...because I thought you were handsome and I wanted you. I was selfish...Maybe, Caspian's death is divine punishment," Rose said sadly.

"I am sorry that I made you go through all of this," Rose said. "I don't want to annoy you any further with dangerous things. I'll tell my father to not disturb you again."

"However...before you leave...I want to ask you something," Rose said, finally lifting her face up. "Do you like me? Even a little?"
