The First Strike
The sky was tearing apart. Mun's light and Iblis's fire were trying to devour each other. Trees of the secret kingdom were burning to ashes, but Mun was not backing down.
Emon stood beside his sister, watching. He could see that Mun's power was infinite, but she hadn't yet learned to fully control it.
"Mun! Focus on your mark! Don't just use light against fire—use the love inside you!"
Mun closed her eyes. She dived deep within herself, as her brother had instructed. She thought of those evenings by the pond, waiting for her brother's return, the wings of the blue butterfly. Suddenly, her mark glowed a hundred times brighter than before.
Iblis screamed, "What is this! How do you have so much power!"
The stream of light surged toward the fire. The collision of the two forces created a massive explosion. When the smoke cleared—Iblis was seen stumbling backward. His armor was shattered into pieces.
But Emon realized Iblis had not been fully defeated. He rose from the ground, his body shrouded in black smoke.
"You think you've won? Ha ha ha!"—Iblis's laughter was terrifying. "I am not finished yet. The shield of this kingdom is completely broken. It will only take a few days for my army to arrive. Then let's see what you, Emon, and your sister can do!"
With that, Iblis turned into a ball of fire and vanished into the sky.
Mun sat down on the ground. Her body was trembling. Emon ran and held her tight.
"You did wonderfully, Mun."
Mun said in a weak voice, "Brother, he will return. I couldn't destroy him completely."
Emon placed his hand on his sister's head and said, "We are together. And now I know—I must bring back my power."
Jinir stepped forward. "O leader, do you wish to go down that path?"
Emon said with firm voice, "Yes. I must go back to that ancient well."
Everyone froze. If Emon goes to that well, will he regain his power, or lose everything? No one knew.
Mun stood up. "I'm coming with you, brother."
