Chapter 178 - You Don't Even Know Teriri? You're Finished

Reanna directly invoked the name of Schicksal. Presumably, someone who possessed a Divine Key would not be completely ignorant of Schicksal—unless she was not from this world.

"What? You dorjel said Schicksal?" Vill-V's eyes widened.

Vill-V was not familiar with the name Reanna Brigantia, but she was extremely familiar with Schicksal.

Although Schicksal was the German pronunciation of "Schicksal," Vill-V, as a genius young beauty, had come into contact with quite a bit of German in the Three-Body world as well. In order to find opportunities to advance to Stage Four, she had dealt with fleets from various nations.

Although Germany no longer existed, the European fleets had still retained those regional dialects.

Thus, after a brief moment of contemplation, Vill-V understood the meaning of the word Schicksal.

However, upon hearing that name, her confusion and astonishment only intensified. She wondered if she had misheard and asked again, "You said you're from Schicksal? Then are you the Overseer Otto, Overseer Theresa, or—?"

The chaotic word order was the result of having stayed in the Previous Era for too long. Although Vill-V could still speak English, her grammar retained the habits of that era.

It was like staying in an English-speaking region for too long and then switching back to Chinese—one would unconsciously slip into inverted English syntax.

Vill-V's astonishment did not surprise Reanna. After all, the international charitable organization—Schicksal—held the greatest power in this world.

Any organization or individual facing Schicksal would show astonishment and reverence. Any enemy facing Schicksal would display panic and fear.

But as for Vill-V's rapid and peculiar sentence structure, Reanna frowned. Even having lived for over a hundred years, she had never heard such an intonation before. Was she from some remote corner of the world?

Judging by her appearance, she did not seem American. She was probably of European origin.

Thus, Reanna continued probing, "Indeed. The current Overseer of Schicksal is Lord Otto Apocalypse. As for the Theresa you mentioned, I do not know her."

Vill-V thought to herself:

Good grief, you actually don't know Principal Teriri!

Teriri can knock your Archbishop and instant-noodle Kevin unconscious with a single pink magic wand, and you say you don't know her!

Are you even a Valkyrie working for Schicksal? Would Otto really allow you not to know the world's number one cutest Teriri?

You're finished. Otto has already put you on the death list.

Oh, speaking of Schicksal...

"My Aimon, just orga for a moment and the Previous Era all muda'd away!" (Previous Era Esperanto)

Vill-V clutched her head and dropped to her knees, seemingly unable to accept the fact that the Previous Era had suddenly vanished.

"No wonder Mentor Tesla stopped speaking the ancient language of the Previous Era and started using the common language of the Honkai world—English."

Conductor reminded her, "Don't panic. The Previous Era hasn't perished. Id, look—the beacon is still there."

Vill-V looked at her pocket watch. Sure enough, the beacon was still glowing, though she could not communicate with the other side.

She let out a long breath and patted her ample chest. "Scared the hell out of me... It's fine. I was just acting a bit to earn some sympathy points."

However, her actions did not win the Valkyrie's sympathy. Instead, the spear was raised again in vigilance.

Come on, I just patted my chest. It's not like I was about to pull a weapon out of it. It's not as if I can perform some fragrant bosom slash.

Was it because I spoke the Previous Era language again? After getting used to it, it's really hard to switch.

Sure, the Previous Era Esperanto was a little rough, but you don't need to be this alert about it. It's only slightly more irritable than Tesla—just slightly.

Well, Conductor did mention something about seizing a Herrscher identity, and this body was reconstructed using the Authority of Reason. But at least Id hasn't felt herself obtaining the Authority of the Herrscher of Reason. The body has already been examined—there's no excess Honkai energy and no Herrscher Core.

I'm just a cute and soft young beauty. There's no need to overreact like this.

Oh... there actually is a Herrscher Core. Wendy's...

Vill-V raised both hands. "Wait, wait. I'm not a Herrscher. Let me reorganize my language." (Previous Era Esperanto)

Due to nervousness, Id had slipped back into the Previous Era language again.

"I very, very good citizen. You very, very friend. Understand?"

Clearly, Id was so nervous that her speech had become incoherent.

Noticing the strange looks from everyone, Id felt utterly mortified and decided to let Conductor handle the situation.

Conductor stepped out smoothly. It seemed renormalization had not affected Vill-V's personality switching. Perhaps it was Wendy's doing.

"Don't be afraid. I mean no hostility. I'm... you could say an ally." (English)

Conductor's language-processing ability was indeed swift. She quickly integrated the language system. The language of this Honkai world bore no resemblance to the Previous Era's "Esperanto." Or rather, this world simply spoke English.

The reason Id's speech sounded strange was entirely because she had stayed in the Previous Era for too long. If it had been Chinese, she would naturally remember it clearly, but she truly had not used English in the Previous Era.

With a light hop, Conductor jumped down from the train and looked around, noticing two people lying on the ground nearby.

"Quantum field, black hole, the Herrscher of Reason Welt, Mentor Tesla, Dr. Einstein—wow, all the related elements are gathered together. No wonder I ended up in this world." (English)

The world of Anti-Entropy Visual Novel.

Hearing Conductor's muttering, the hot-tempered Tesla immediately stepped forward to interrogate her. "Hey, I don't think we've ever met. Since when did I become your mentor? I don't have a habit of taking students!"

"Oh, sorry. I'm used to calling you that, Lob—Dr. Tesla."

"You were definitely about to call me Lobster-Head or Lobster-Whisker Doctor, weren't you!"

Evidently, Dr. Tesla had been called that before and was extremely sensitive to the term.

Vill-V scratched her head awkwardly. "Ah, caught already. Since I've been found out, I might as well tell the truth. Actually, I'm someone from the future. And you, Tesla—you're my mentor."

"Someone from the future?" Dr. Einstein's eyes flashed with curiosity. "Then the language you were speaking earlier is the common language of the future?"

Upon hearing that she was the mentor of the girl before her, Dr. Tesla's attitude shifted immediately. She became serious, as if she truly were a teacher. "Oh, oh, so you're my future apprentice, huh? Heh. I just went through some things earlier, so I was a bit emotionally unstable—"

Tesla: refined and amiable version.
