Chapter 173 - Quantum Does Not Exist, Nor Does the World

"Thank you for your understanding, Minister Vill-V."

After ending the call with Vill-V, Tesla looked at Einstein with a strange expression. "Chicken-Nest Head, I remember you always opposed the existence of the Sea of Quanta. And you studied quantum mechanics just to prove that quantum mechanics doesn't exist. So how are you accepting this so quickly now?"

Tesla remembered clearly that whenever quantum theory was brought up in the past, Einstein had always dismissed it with disdain.

Of course, that "disdain" was from Tesla's perspective. Einstein always wore a poker face. No one could tell what she was thinking.

Einstein lifted her head and looked at Tesla. After a moment of contemplation, she asked in a slow and cautious tone, "Dr. Tesla, what do you think... quantum mechanics has changed?"

Tesla answered confidently, "Quantum mechanics means the universe has gained more possibilities, of course."

Although the concept of quantum mechanics was abstract and complex, its applications in modern technology and industry were widespread—new semiconductors and electronic devices, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, quantum computers, and so on. It had enriched human technology.

In the scientific realm, quantum mechanics had broadened humanity's vision, shifting our perspective from the macroscopic to the microscopic. No matter how one looked at it, that was a good thing.

Einstein shook her head and countered, "Is that truly the case? What if quantum mechanics means that everything in the universe is impossible?"

"What nonsense are you talking about, Chicken-Nest Head? Our very existence proves—...ah!"

Dr. Tesla suddenly seemed to realize something and covered her mouth.

Seeing Tesla's dawning understanding, Dr. Einstein nodded. It seemed Tesla had not completely forgotten the theories she once studied under Professor Planck.

"That's right. In the quantum realm, everything is random. The existence you perceive may not truly exist at all—like a bubble floating on the surface of water, bursting at the slightest touch."

After a long moment of shock, Dr. Tesla picked up the thread. "According to your Local Realism theory, the universe should be natural and continuous. But quantum mechanics shatters that characteristic, turning everything into disconnected fragments. All causality loses its foundation."

Tesla paused, then adjusted her glasses and concluded, "That also means... all scientific theories lose their value. No one knows whether, in the next second, those theories might all suddenly fail."

Einstein had not expected Tesla to still be following her latest theoretical research. After all, Tesla only logged into her Mu Continent forum account once a year.

Einstein nodded and said in a faintly trembling voice, "Yes. That is why... I have opposed quantum mechanics. To support quantum mechanics is to deny all current scientific theories—and all future scientific theories—including quantum mechanics itself."

For a scientist, researching a paradox—especially one capable of overturning all one's own achievements—was a contradictory and arduous pursuit.

It was like carving a path through a mountain. You know that at the end of the road lies a cliff, yet you still struggle tirelessly to clear the path all the way to the edge, just to confirm that it truly is a cliff.

And when you turn around... there may be a cliff behind you as well.

Tesla looked at Einstein in surprise. "Then why do you still insist on studying the quantum field, Chicken-Nest Head? Studying something that doesn't exist—doesn't that cause you pain? It's the very thing you oppose."

Dr. Einstein replied in an emotionless tone, "What does opposition matter? Scientific research cannot be interfered with by emotion. As scientists, our task is to explore the unknown and reveal the truth."

"Although quantum mechanics overturns our past understanding and makes everything seem groundless, that does not mean we should abandon research."

The reason for clearing a path to the cliff is to help those who come after find a new road. Only upon reaching the other side of the mountain can one know where the next road should be carved. Isn't that so?

Tesla scratched her red hair. "You theoretical physicists... you really know how to make trouble for yourselves. If it were me, I definitely couldn't handle this. I'd be driven to death by the paradox sooner or later. I don't have hearts as strong as yours."

"So tell me quickly—what are you planning to do? Influencing quantum space with a black hole won't be easy. Even with the coordinates that Vill-V provided, we can't track the high-speed Herrscher of Reason."

"That's why I contacted Vill-V. She should already understand. So..."

...

Conductor took a deep breath, as if drawing all her courage into her lungs.

"So next, I will serve as the bait—and the marker."

"But that is not enough. I will not follow Dr. Einstein's plan entirely."

"It is time to reveal a corner of the Wallfacer Project, with the resolve to stake everything I have."

The previously silent Lecturer finally spoke at this moment. "Conductor is indeed the marker node."

Clearly, Lecturer had not participated in Vill-V's earlier conversation. She had been fully focused on preparing the plan for Conductor.

Expert also said seriously, "The collapse program and consciousness channel are in position. Are you ready, Conductor?"

"Haha, of course." Conductor's voice carried a hint of openness. "This time... I am loading my own life into the chamber."

Id did not understand why the atmosphere had suddenly turned so strange, as though they were seeing Conductor off on a final journey. Flustered, she asked, "Why are you suddenly talking about loading the chamber?

Conductor, what are you planning to do? Can you tell me?"

"Oh, don't take it so seriously. I've just always wanted to say a line like Kevin's." Conductor lowered the brim of her hat, hiding her bright eyes.

At the same time, she pulled the emergency brake lever inside the Cosmic Juggernaut. The train came to an abrupt halt.

The Herrscher of Reason's phantom train paid no attention to what the Cosmic Juggernaut intended to do. It charged forward at extreme speed.

Theoretically, even if the phantom train caught up to Vill-V, it would not be able to affect the Cosmic Juggernaut at all. They were like things from two different worlds. Could a shadow truly affect an object in reality?

However, the existence of a Herrscher was precisely meant to overturn existing theory.

The moment the Herrscher of Reason touched Vill-V, she would be able to lock onto Vill-V's true spatial location—and annihilate it.

Even quantum decoherence could not resist the Herrscher's authority from Imaginary Space.

At this moment, a knight's lance had already formed in her hand. Like a medieval knight charging on horseback, she rode the phantom Cosmic Juggernaut straight toward Vill-V.

Conductor knew the Herrscher's intention well. But she did not care. She calmly allowed the Herrscher to touch her.
