Asher let out a long breath the moment he stepped out of Harlan's room.
Relief washed through him when he realized Xavier wasn't standing outside the door waiting for him.
Thank God.
Because at that moment, he couldn't handle another argument.
His mind was already a mess.
"This was supposed to be our break," he muttered under his breath as he walked down the hallway. "A chance to rest. A proper honeymoon since we never really got one."
His jaw clenched.
"And somehow everything turned into a disaster."
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.

Xavier had suggested the arrangement.
Then everything had exploded in their faces.
Now Harlan was heartbroken.
Xavier was avoiding him.
