Ren listened to every word with a heavy ache throbbing deep inside his chest. His thick brows remained tightly knotted together. Part of him understood and was incredibly proud to see his little bird finally brave enough to step out into the world on his own.
But the other part of him the feral, overprotective instinct—was boiling up so high he felt like he was going to lose his damn mind!
"Once a month, my ass!!" Ren instantly snapped back, completely forgetting his polite persona, the possessive instinct exploding back to the surface.
"I'd fucking die! ...Ah, shit!"
The young man squeezed his eyes shut, cursing himself under his breath. Fuck! I slipped again.
He let out a heavy sigh, surrendering to fate and his own nature. He rubbed his face roughly to regain his composure before looking at the person in front of him with absolute seriousness, yet laced with a desperate, pleading gaze.
