Soft morning sunlight struck the domes of the elite private school.
The chatter of students echoed through the halls. The atmosphere of the first day was overflowing with excitement, and students immediately fell into their own social circles.
The scent of expensive perfumes mingled with the smell of new textbooks.
But for a sixteen-year-old boy named Zen, today didn't represent the start of high school. It meant only one thing.
It was the day to collect on a promise.
For the past six years, ever since that summer under the Tree... Zen had been sent to an all-boys boarding school overseas. He was brutally drilled and molded to become the flawless, cold-blooded heir. He wore the mask of a perfect gentleman. A diplomatic smile was permanently painted onto his flawlessly handsome face.
But the only thing that had kept his fractured mind alive for six years... was the memory of the scrawny boy with those hollow eyes.
