Chapter 374 - Chapter 371: The Journey of Escape

In just half a day, the once-prosperous Roble Holy Kingdom had been reduced to ruins.

It sounded absurd, yet it had truly happened before everyone's eyes.

Even now, Naraku remembered the scene vividly, every detail still fresh in his mind.

It was as if the world itself had suddenly been torn apart.

Hideous fissures appeared in the air, mercilessly ripping apart what had once been seamless space.

Then, dazzling purple light erupted from the fissures.

The light was so intense and blinding that it instantly illuminated the entire sky.

Yet behind that beautiful purple glow lurked boundless danger and terror.

As the purple light spread, a strange force began to seep into the surroundings, corrupting the environment and greedily consuming the entire Roble Holy Kingdom.

Countless indescribable creatures wreathed in thick purple smoke poured ceaselessly from the fissures into this world.

They came in all shapes and sizes. Some were as enormous as mountains, while others were no larger than mosquitoes. Some had vicious fangs and razor-sharp claws, while others were covered in hard scales and barbed spines.

The moment these monsters appeared, they began wreaking destruction without restraint.

With their immense strength and savage nature, they tore apart everything they could see.

Neither towering buildings nor innocent lives could escape their clutches.

Worse still, the miasma constantly pouring from the fissures was extremely invasive.

It permeated the air and seeped into everything around it. Nearly every living creature that came into contact with it was affected.

Many animals and humans who inhaled the miasma immediately descended into madness. Their eyes turned bloodshot, their reason vanished, and their minds became consumed by violent urges to kill.

At the same time, their strength increased dramatically, making the catastrophe even harder to contain.

As far as the eye could see, corpses lay scattered across the ground, and blood had stained the earth beneath their feet red.

Lives that had once been vibrant were now nothing more than cold, lifeless bodies, silently testifying to the cruelty and horror of the situation.

The once-bustling streets had been scorched black by raging infernal flames, with thick smoke billowing into the sky.

Countless buildings throughout the city had collapsed amid the fighting, leaving behind nothing but shattered walls and heaps of rubble.

The once-thriving metropolis had become a grim, hellish landscape, with death and despair hanging over every corner.

Thanks to the protection of the White Dragon Lord, Naraku's life was safe for the time being.

The creatures pouring endlessly from those eerie fissures came in every conceivable shape and form, each stranger than the last.

Fortunately, their strength did not seem particularly overwhelming. Most appeared to range from level 20 to level 40.

The miasma spreading through the area also followed a peculiar pattern.

The weaker an individual was, the more vulnerable they were to its corruption and infection.

By contrast, stronger beings were generally able to withstand the miasma without suffering any ill effects.

As soon as these strange phenomena began, Naraku immediately tried to contact his true self without hesitation.

However, no matter what he tried, every means of communication failed. There was no response at all.

He then ordered the White Dragon Lord to use Wild Magic to teleport them away.

Unfortunately, even Wild Magic had no effect.

Seeing this, Naraku next had the White Dragon Lord attempt to fly beyond the borders of the Roble Holy Kingdom.

Yet no matter how hard the White Dragon Lord beat his wings and soared through the sky, some invisible force would eventually guide him back to where he had started.

From all of this, Naraku could only reach one helpless conclusion.

This place, perhaps even the entire territory of the Roble Holy Kingdom, had become a sealed miniature world completely cut off from the outside!

Faced with such a desperate situation, Naraku had no choice but to temporarily suppress his anxiety and search for the surviving factions of the Roble Holy Kingdom, gathering them together to discuss how they might deal with this sudden catastrophe.

With their very survival at stake, banding together was far wiser than trying to face everything alone.

After all, with no clear leads and almost no useful information, even Naraku had no way of knowing what terrifying events might come next.

Fortunately, when Naraku returned to Neia's home, he found that Neia and both of her parents had survived the catastrophe unharmed.

Unfortunately, the fissures in the sky showed no sign of slowing their expansion. Instead, they only grew more rampant.

Like ferocious beasts that had broken free of their restraints, they began appearing one after another throughout every corner of the Roble Holy Kingdom.

With the situation deteriorating so rapidly, everyone had no choice but to fight while retreating, gradually abandoning the city that had once been lively and prosperous but was now devastated beyond recognition.

They fled in desperation until they were eventually forced into the sprawling mountain range, hoping the vast forests would provide temporary shelter from the disaster.

Throughout the entire escape, the White Dragon Lord remained in his dragon form and stayed close beside Naraku, never leaving his side.

Relying on the immense power he possessed as a True Dragon Lord, he forcibly carved a path through the swarming enemies.

Naraku's plan was actually quite simple.

They would fight while retreating and buy as much time as possible.

Although the Roble Holy Kingdom had been completely sealed off, if they could hold out long enough, his true self far away would inevitably realize that something was wrong.

Knowing his true self's personality, the moment he noticed anything unusual, he would undoubtedly come here in person without hesitation to investigate.

For Naraku, the most important and urgent task right now was simply to survive by any means necessary.

The White Dragon Lord understood that perfectly. Because of that, he did not fall into panic. Instead, a trace of uncontrollable excitement began to rise within him.

He saw this crisis as an excellent opportunity to test himself.

Not only could he use it to find out just how strong he had become, he could also earn himself a substantial amount of merit in the process.

Woohoo! He could finally make progress again!
