Victor still held the open red envelope in his hands, his eyes scanning the name once more as if to make sure he wasn't reading it wrong.
"Is there somewhere she asked me to meet? I don't see it here," he asked, still staring at the paper as if it could bite him at any moment.
Eleonora didn't even lift her head.
"On the back of the letter," she replied simply, as if she were telling him where the salt was on the table.
Victor turned the envelope over, pulled out the letter completely, and began to read the back. His eyes moved slowly across the lines, and as he read, his expression changed from curiosity… to surprise… to slight irritation.
When he finished, he let out a long sigh.
"Right here…" he murmured, lifting the paper slightly.
"At her house. It's a few hours from here." He ran a hand over his face. "It's going to be a pain to ask permission to leave here just to—"
"She already gave it."
