"Water Release: Water Prison Technique!"
Sora's hands moved at lightning speed, leaving faint afterimages in the air.
His seal speed had increased again. He could already feel himself approaching four seals per second.
Never underestimate a single seal's difference.
In a life-and-death battle, one second determined survival. Casting a Release technique even slightly faster meant gaining an extra sliver of victory.
Water surged forward, condensing into a dense sphere that expelled all air within.
"Phew… that should count as qualified."
He released the technique.
Most Water Release techniques were B-rank. C-rank ones were fewer—but all were extremely practical.
Some had even been simplified specifically for Genin and Chunin with limited Chakra reserves.
"Water Release: Water Whip!"
A long whip formed from condensed water lashed out, wrapping tightly around a tree.
"Water Release: Water Flow Technique!"
A concentrated stream of water shot forward, smashing against another tree and splintering its bark.
"Not bad. You've passed these three," Tsunade said.
"Water Release differs from other natures. There are fewer low-level techniques, but each one is highly practical."
She noticed Sora standing still, lost in thought. She didn't interrupt him.
When he finally snapped back, Shizune couldn't help asking, "What were you thinking about?"
Sora spoke slowly.
"After learning these Water Release techniques, I suddenly had an idea. Since Water Release manipulates water… and water is essential to the human body…
what if I could develop a technique that drains all the moisture from someone's body?"
Silence.
Tsunade and Shizune both stared at him.
No one in the ninja world had ever attempted something like that.
Water Release had always been about manipulating external water to attack.
Even the Second Hokage had focused on maximizing its destructive force—not weaponizing the water inside living beings.
"Could this child…" Tsunade thought silently, "be an unprecedented Water Release genius?"
Imagination was the foundation of ninjutsu. Every technique once began as an idea. If one couldn't imagine it, one could never create it.
"Why did you think of something like that?" Shizune pressed.
Sora answered honestly.
"While climbing a slippery cliff during training, I slipped and cut my arm. When I saw the blood flowing out, I started thinking.
Water Release manipulates water. The human body contains water. Blood is also a liquid.
So why do we only manipulate external water? Why can't we apply Water Release to the human body itself?
If I could directly drain an opponent's moisture, wouldn't that instantly defeat them?
And if I could control blood itself… then draining it in a single moment would kill even the strongest ninja."
His tone wasn't arrogant.
It was thoughtful. Analytical.
Ever since learning Water Release, he had studied water constantly. Water looked simple—but it was endlessly profound.
This world had countless techniques and Bloodline Limits. But all of them had been created by humans.
Unless something was innate, if others could create them—why couldn't he?
If he merely inherited others' legacies, his achievements would always have limits.
Even if this idea was immature—if he didn't dare to imagine it, how could he ever reach the summit?
Tsunade looked at him deeply.
"Sora, based on this thought alone, your future won't be ordinary. Many people blindly learn techniques, forgetting that every technique was once created from nothing.
It's good that you dare to think. Never limit yourself. But daring to think is only the first step.
You must also build the foundation to support that thought. Otherwise, it becomes aiming too high. Do you understand?"
Sora thought carefully before nodding.
But deep in his heart, the idea had already taken root.
If the Second Hokage could create a forbidden technique that revived the dead…
If Kakashi could develop ultra-advanced jutsu at a young age…
Then why couldn't he create a Water Release technique that controlled blood?
Or even awaken a new Bloodline Limit?
Neither he nor Tsunade knew it then.
But that day, a seed was planted—one that would one day stir the ninja world into a storm of blood.
Suppressing the thought for now, Sora returned to training.
Tsunade was right.
He lacked foundation.
At present, he was merely a Genin. His understanding of ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu still had vast room for growth.
But seeds only needed time, water, and patience to grow.
He would strengthen himself first.
The rest would come.
Under Tsunade's personal guidance, his progress accelerated dramatically.
Days turned into months.
Months turned into years.
In the blink of an eye—three years passed.
Sora was now over nine years old, yet he stood over 1.6 meters tall. He no longer looked like a child. His physique was lean but powerful, his gaze calm and sharp.
"An assassination mission?" He held a scroll in his hand.
Since Mother gambled without restraint, earning money had become necessary. Otherwise, they really would go bankrupt.
The mission target: a Rogue Ninja from one of the Five Great Ninja Villages.
This was arranged by Tsunade herself.
At his current level, simple training would no longer produce dramatic improvement.
Only real battle—
Only repeated brushes with life and death—
Would push him into the next realm.
So she sent him to hunt Rogue Ninjas.
They had no village backing them. Eliminating them brought no political consequences.
It provided combat experience.
And it funded Tsunade's gambling habit.
A perfect arrangement.
Sora rolled up the scroll calmly.
Another hunt.
Another step forward.
