"Boom!"
Erwin Smith looked toward the Titan that had landed behind him, watching as it scrambled up from the ground and began to chase after him.
The chaos just now had separated him from his subordinates; in his current state, it would be difficult to fight a Titan alone.
As the Titan behind him drew closer, Erwin suddenly saw the intelligent Titan with an unclear stance mentioned in the reports appear before him... and tackle the Titan behind him.
The impact of the Titans' collision caused the horse to lose its balance, and Erwin fell from its back.
"Commander!"
"Don't worry about me, take Eren Yeager and leave this place immediately!" The pain from his severed right arm made Erwin's face turn pale.
Hearing no response from his subordinate, Erwin looked up to see his subordinate's head being bitten by a Titan's mouth from behind.
The surrounding Soldiers were also struggling to fight the Titans, but Erwin knew that on this flat ground, it would be difficult for any of them to survive.
"Who is that!?"
"It's the son of the Leon Family!"
Erwin looked toward the voice and saw Lock Leon leaping between the Titans at an incredible speed.
Every leap represented the death of a Titan.
His movements were simple, clean, and efficient.
Erwin recalled the first time he had met Levi Ackerman in the Capital Underground City.
"The future golden lion?"
After Lock ate Annie, he no longer felt the discomfort he once had when using the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear.
With Annie's superb skills combined with his own terrifying physical attributes, Lock felt he could now compete with those Ackermans.
His dual blades sliced through another Titan's nape, and Lock landed straight on the ground from five meters in the air.
"Bang!" With his legs slightly bent, the massive impact was completely neutralized.
The Titans in this area had been cleared out.
Lock showed no signs of fatigue or discomfort as he walked over to the officer he had saved and pulled him up from the ground.
"Thank you!"
Lock smiled and said, "I'm almost out of blades."
"Oh! Use mine, don't be polite."
Lock reloaded his blades, mounted a horse, and said, "Officer, please escort the Commander and retreat quickly. I'm going to support the others."
Lock began to rush across this chaotic battlefield; that fellow Reiner Braun was still constantly throwing Titans over here.
It was difficult for him to look after everyone, but he also didn't plan on saving everyone.
Lock had already spotted Ymir's figure. Ignoring the screams of dying Soldiers nearby, he turned and headed straight for Ymir...
"Titan ahead!" Connie Springer shouted a warning.
Historia Reiss stood atop Ymir's head, her eyes resolute: "Ymir, just like you told me before."
"Let's stop living for others!"
"From now on, we should live for ourselves!"
She looked at the Titan ahead and said with her most brilliant smile, "Though it's incredible, as long as I'm with you, no matter what we face, I won't be afraid!"
The beautiful girl had made up her mind to fight against this cruel world alongside the one she loved!
"Boom!"
Under the girl's astonished gaze, the Titan ahead, representing this cruel world, slowly collapsed to the ground.
Ymir's limbs plowed into the earth as she came to a halt.
From the dust, a person holding blades slowly walked out.
The Titan blood on the blades was still evaporating. Lock gave a gentle flick, and the Titan's blood splattered around, staining several purple flowers black.
"Yo, Ymir! Have you decided yet?"
"Lock!"
"Lock!"
Connie and Sasha Blouse both shouted in surprise.
Lock raised the blade in his hand, pointing it at Ymir as he asked, "Are you still going to take her away?!"
"Lock!" Historia couldn't help but say, "Please don't hurt Ymir. She's only doing this for me!"
"Is that so?" The corner of Lock's mouth was full of mockery.
"Ymir, I know the reason for your hesitation."
"Soon you will realize that compared to Reiner and the others, the side inside the walls actually has a better chance of winning!"
The three who were in the dark were all left confused by Lock's words.
Lock knew that Eren was about to...
Abruptly, a current of electricity ran straight down his spine through his entire body!
Ymir, Reiner, and Bertholdt Hoover all felt an abnormal discharge from their spinal nerves at this moment.
It surged from bottom to top, reaching straight to the brain.
Far away, Eren's fist collided with the Titan that Dina had become...
Lock's eyes instantly went blank, his soul drifting away.

..."Beep beep beep."
In a state between sleep and wakefulness, Lock opened his eyes.
An unfamiliar ceiling, an unfamiliar room.
Lock sat upine bed and looked at the electronic alarm clock that was still making an annoying noise.
The time displayed on it was 6:30 AM.
He looked around the entire room and quickly confirmed that this was no longer the world of Titans.
Where is this? Why did I come here?
Lock had no memory of it at all.
He got out of bed and walked to the window, pulling back the curtains. Directly opposite the window was a residential building in a housing complex.
It indeed resembled the style of the world before his Transmigration, but it was not Lin Youde's memory.
Lin Youde had lived in a detached villa, not this kind of neighborhood.
Through the window's reflection, Lock noticed that he still looked like himself, rather than Lin Youde.
"Knock knock." The sound of knocking came from behind him.
Lock did not respond.
A woman's voice then came from behind the door: "Lock, breakfast is ready, get up now!"
Lock was certain he didn't know the woman outside.
But he still called out in response, "Okay, I'm coming."
He put on the clothes hanging on the back of the chair, only to realize after putting them on that they looked like some kind of high school uniform.
It wasn't exactly ugly, but it felt a bit awkward on his Caucasian frame.
Lock gripped the doorknob, hesitated for a moment, then opened the door and walked out.
Directly opposite was another room door, adorned with many cartoon cat stickers and plastic tags.
Lock walked into the living room, where a young black-haired woman in an apron was busy in the kitchen.
Lock confirmed once again that he didn't know her, and there was no such person in Lin Youde's memory.
He walked to the dining table and sat down. Three breakfasts were set out on the table.
While washing up in the bathroom just now, he had noticed that besides himself, there were two other people in this home.
One was a girl, not much different in age from himself.
The other was an adult male.
The two of them hadn't washed up yet, and their breakfast was here, which meant they were still in their respective rooms.
And this busy woman didn't belong to this family; she was likely a housekeeper or something similar.
"Lock!" the woman in the kitchen called out.
"Hmm?"
"Go wake your sister for breakfast. I can't get her to move."
"Okay!"
Lock stood up and walked to his "sister's" door, reaching out to knock.
No one answered... Lock knocked twice more, heavily.
"Alright, stop rushing, I'm up!"
The voice from inside the room sounded very familiar to Lock. He took a step back and waited quietly at the door.
"Click."
The door opened, and Annie Leonhart walked out in her pajamas, with messy hair.
She looked at Lock standing at the door and said, somewhat angry, "Can't you let me sleep a bit longer?"
Lock looked at her standing alive and well before him. Suppressing the surge of emotion in his heart, he said with a smile, "Sorry, it's my fault."
Then, he repeated in a low voice:
"Sorry..."
