After cheering for a while, Sakura gradually calmed down. When she thought about how they had passed the test, her mood suddenly sank.
"Although I'm happy… passing the test this way just feels a bit… sigh."
No matter how hard Team 7 tried, no matter what plans or sneak attacks they used, they couldn't force Renji to move even a single step.
In the end, what made him move was Naruto's idiotic Harem Jutsu.
What did that mean?
It meant that all the strength they had seriously displayed was less effective than that ridiculous technique.
Sasuke kept his hands in his pockets and glanced at Naruto indifferently. "Idiot, do you really think your broken technique would work?"
"It was clearly super effective! Even the Third Hokage Grandpa would be defeated by this move of mine."
Naruto patted Sasuke's shoulder and spoke in a senior-like tone. "I know you don't like losing, so don't worry, I'll let you shine next time."
He was smug beyond belief. For once, he had shown off in front of Sakura and solved a problem Sasuke couldn't.
Uzumaki Naruto could finally hold his head high.
"Hmph." Sasuke snorted coldly, ignoring Naruto's self-congratulations, and walked toward Renji instead.
"Damn it! It was my credit for passing the test, so why can Sasuke still act so arrogant?!" A '#' symbol popped on Naruto's forehead.
Sasuke's condescending attitude made him furious.
Sasuke stopped a short distance away and looked up at Renji calmly. "Renji, your acting is terrible."
He had already figured it out. From start to finish, Renji had never been serious. If he had been even slightly serious, Team 7 would have been incapacitated instantly.
Even that final step backward had been deliberate.
"Is that so? You're right. After all, what adult would be serious with children?" Renji chuckled lightly.
"Can you understand the painstaking effort of an elephant carefully stroking an ant?"
He ruffled Sasuke's hair, messing it up as he laughed. "You'll have a chance to see the sea. That sea is what I allow you to see."
In truth, Renji had been extremely serious—serious about restraining himself. A single mistake could have left them gravely injured… or dead.
Because Renji only used ultimate moves.
Every one of his techniques was a terrifying finishing move. Repulsion and attraction were merely his casual normal attacks.
And even those were heavily restrained.
Trying not to crush an ant with too much force was harder than it sounded.
Sasuke brushed Renji's hand away. The image of a certain man surfaced in his mind, and a trace of hatred flashed in his eyes. "Do you know Uchiha Itachi?"
"Before you ask a question—"
Renji suddenly raised his hand and, under Sasuke's puzzled gaze, slapped him flying.
"Bang!"
Sasuke shot backward, rolling several times before landing flat on his back in a sorry state.
Renji looked down at him indifferently. "You can act smug with others, but acting smug with me will get you a beating."
The Uchiha brat was far too used to showing off.
And Renji loved bullying weaklings who only knew how to act smug.
"Sasuke! Are you okay?" Sakura rushed over, panic written all over her face.
"Hehehe, it's finally his turn to get beaten." Naruto covered his mouth and snickered. For once, he wasn't the one being slapped around.
Satisfying.
Watching Smug Sasuke get humbled was truly satisfying.
Naruto walked over, grinning as he patted Renji's waist. "Good job, Renji! Give that Smug Sasuke a good lesson!"
Renji smiled faintly.
Then he backhanded Naruto flying.
"Slap!"
Naruto flipped through the air before crashing heavily onto the ground, dizzy and seeing stars.
"You—" Sakura's expression darkened. Just as she was about to scold Renji, she saw his slowly raised hand.
Her backside throbbed faintly at the memory.
She immediately swallowed her words.
Her mind worked rapidly as she replayed everything that had just happened.
Then she forced out a polite smile. "R-Renji-sensei."
Renji patted her head and gave a thumbs-up. "Hmm, very good. Although you have no chest and no butt, and your personality is terrible, at least you're polite."
"…"
Sakura lowered her head, her face burning red with shame and anger. Her fists clenched tightly, teeth grinding.
Stinking rogue!
What did he mean, no chest and no butt?!
She was still developing!
It was the first time she'd ever seen a teacher comment on a female student like that.
First a beating, then a compliment?
Is that how you praise someone?!
Bastard Renji!
If it weren't for your strength, I would've punched your grinning face flying long ago!
Renji turned toward Sasuke and Naruto, who were still dazed, and spoke in a lecturing tone.
"You're my students. It's fine to show off to others, but in front of me, you should at least be polite. As polite as your teacher."

Renji-sensei's skin was truly thick.
"Bastard, how can you even have the nerve to say 'polite to others'?!" Naruto jumped up like an angry cat, pointing at Renji.
"Slap!"
Naruto was sent flying again.
"Naruto is so brave…" Sakura covered her forehead. She couldn't bear to watch.
Renji cupped a hand to his ear and pretended to be confused. "Naruto, did you say something? Your teacher didn't hear clearly."
"I said, you bastard—"
"Slap!"
Naruto was sent flying once more.
Renji tilted his head slightly. "What? Speak louder."
With a head full of red bumps and a face swollen like a bun, Naruto knelt obediently and mumbled through sausage-like lips.
"I said, Renji-sensei, you are an excellent, handsome, and powerful good teacher."
"Hmm, very good. You can praise me more." Renji nodded in satisfaction before glancing at Sasuke.
Sasuke turned his head away stiffly. "R-Renji-sensei."
