Which was technically accurate.
Just not the whole story.
Dimitri sat in the back room of the safehouse while doctors worked on his wounds....minor cuts from debris, some burns from the blast heat, but nothing serious.
Mike was waiting for him when the medical work was done.
"How many?" Mike asked.
"Everyone inside," Dimitri said. "The facility is destroyed. The samples are destroyed. The research is destroyed."
"And the people running it?"
"Dead," Dimitri said simply.
Mike nodded once. No judgment. Just understanding of what had been necessary.
"Eve?" Dimitri asked.
