Third Person
The arena fell into an uncomfortable silence. Only the heavy breathing of Prince Marcus echoed.
"Rain, don't you dare," he growled.
"Oh... you still have some strength." Raze laughed. "Don't worry. When I am done, you won't have any."
That was it.
Marcus was trapped between two twisted minds. The same father Rain had looked up to for saving Marcus looked up, his eyes begging for a way out. But like Rain, the king was quiet. Not that he wanted to, but because he couldn't find words, move his body, or react. Fear was man's greatest enemy, and it had certainly taken the best of King Aldric.
"Father... do something! Rain is out of it!" Cassian and Sebastian begged, but their father didn't hear a word.
The people watched. Guards stepped away. The warning with the High Priest was loud enough. Though the High Priest looked like he was still breathing, they dared not step in to help him. The elders' mouths shut like dogs with their tails between their legs.
