The atmosphere in the fairly spacious room instantly grew tense. Sizhi, who had been cheerful and smiling happily just moments ago, suddenly turned serious. His gaze was even sharper as he looked at Master Jenna.
Jyu panicked upon seeing this tension. He could only remain on guard, hoping Sizhi wouldn't do anything foolish. Out of the corner of his eye, Jyu kept watching Sizhi.
But Sizhi also seemed unsure of how to act. He laughed softly, but three seconds later, he burst out laughing.
"Master Jenna killed Grandpa. Is that true? I just found out about this bad luck," he said, laughing.
"Why did Master Jenna kill him? What did my grandfather do wrong?"
But this attitude was only momentary; Sizhi immediately became furious. He even tried to attack Master Jenna right away. Jyu had been on guard all along; quickly, he blocked Sizhi and grabbed both of his hands.
"Calm down!"
Sizhi's rapid breathing was clearly audible, a sign that her anger had reached its peak. Her eyes glared sharply, barely blinking.
"Why did you kill my grandfather? What did he do wrong? Because of you, my life is in shambles!"
"Fufufufu! So you're still just a naive, spoiled child. You're just a princess who doesn't know how harsh the outside world is," said Master Jenna so casually.
"Now, I ask you, do you know everything about your family? About the Walter family? About their business? About their hobbies?"
Sizhi fell silent; her breathing slowed, her emotions seemingly subsiding.
Then Master Jenna began telling the story of the Walter family and his past, leading up to why he had to kill Alber.
The story began with the Walter family. Life in this world is divided between the nobility and the underclass. Five noble houses rule the world, one of which is the Walter family, known as the cruellest.
It is the Walter family that bears the greatest responsibility for the suffering of the underclass. This is because they constantly exploit children and women. They are often turned into enslaved people to satisfy their lust or forced into unpaid labor.
What's most infuriating is that the Walter family always carries out these heinous acts through kidnapping. If a woman or a child goes missing, it's a certainty the Walters has kidnaped them. Anyone who protests is guaranteed a gruesome death.
Another dark side is that the Walter family takes pleasure in torturing men from the underprivileged. They are kidnapped and then tortured in front of a crowd. Their bodies are whipped, doused with boiling water, pierced with needles, and burned alive. Every scream they utter is a source of joy for the Walter family.
Master Jenna paused her story to look at Sizhi, who was lost in thought. "That is the depraved behaviour of your family, Sizhi!"
"Your family's nature is more vicious than the devil's."
Then Master Jenna continued her story. Alber, Sizhi's grandfather, led the Walter family. He was the one most responsible for the suffering of the marginalized people.
Master Jenna knew all of this, which is why she harbored a grudge against Alber. Moreover, Master Jenna's father had fallen victim to Alber's cruelty, tortured to death. Master Jenna had even reported the case to the government, but unfortunately, they were above the law.
The only way to exact revenge was to kill Alber. But that also meant Master Jenna had to be prepared to die, as she could not escape the Walter family's pursuit.
Master Jenna always wanted to infiltrate Alber's house. However, security there was extremely tight; the only way was to become his slave.
Master Jenna was a beautiful woman with an enchanting charm. That's why she constantly charmed Alber, hoping to lure that devilish man into her trap.
The opportunity finally arrived; Master Jenna was kidnapped to become Alber's slave. Almost every day, Master Jenna served Alber. She had no regrets; she did it wholeheartedly. But this was only to convince Alber that Master Jenna was a trustworthy slave.
One night after serving him, Master Jenna fed Alber some fresh fruit. The fork in her hand was already so sharp—it had been specially prepared to carry out the murder that very night.
They were chatting so intimately; when Alber let his guard down, Master Jenna immediately stabbed the man's neck with that fork. Not just once, but repeatedly until Alber's blood drenched her face. Dead.
This death filled her with immense joy; finally, she could avenge her parents. But this vengeance came at a high cost for Master Jenna. She was eventually captured and executed by being burned alive.
It was this death that transformed her into Surcy, leading her to become the leader of the DV Army.
"So, Sizhi, should I regret what I did?"
Sizhi remained silent; she could only cry as she listened to Master Jenna's story. Jyu felt the same way; his chest felt like it was on fire as he heard of the Walter family's atrocities. He knew the Walter family, but he never imagined their behavior would be more vicious than that of a demon. For his entire life, Jyu had never had anything to do with the Walter family; he had been tormented by other noble families.
"Forgive my family!" said Sizhi, who was now beginning to realize that Alber's death was a necessary truth.
"But why is Master Jenna still kind to me? Why did Master Jenna even free me from prison?"
"Fufufufu!"
Master Jenna now leaned back in her chair, lifting her head to gaze at the ceiling. She seemed lost in thought.
"I have already taken my revenge on Alber. Revenge must be taken on the guilty party."
"Now that Alber is back, I just want you to help the DV Army fight him. We're short on troops; your presence is crucial. That's why, forget your past and from now on, stand tall and proud as a soldier of the DV Army. Face your grandfather and kill him for the sake of our peace."
Sizhi could only cry upon hearing Master Jenna's words. He could only nod, signaling his willingness to carry out any order given to him.
"Fufufufu! Hey Jyu! Your friend here is such a crybaby."
Jyu just chuckled, "Yeah! No wonder—he's a rich kid, unlike us."
"Fufufufu! You're right!"
Now the atmosphere in Master Jenna's room had turned friendly. Sizhi had even started to laugh; they chatted like a happy family. The past was forgotten for the sake of a better future.
But this happiness couldn't last too long; they had to prepare to fight Alber immediately. Training was a necessity for Jyu and Sizhi. Especially since they were the last students who hadn't received much training due to the dimensional portal chaos.
"You two need to start training again. You have to reach Taffie's level so you don't die easily," said Master Jenna.
Sizhi agreed, but Jyu acted arrogantly.
"Have you forgotten? My power is classified as Supreme-level. Now that my power has awakened, Kuma's curse has been lifted, and I feel I can fight Alber. I'm certain I'll defeat him."
"Fufufufu! In that case, show me."
Now they walked side by side toward the training center. Jyu and Master Jenna were going to fight to test each other's strength. Jyu was so confident he was certain he could match Master Jenna.
But would Jyu be able to fight the demon within Master Jenna, known to be terrifying?
