Chapter 234 - 232

Chapter 232

The Return

Arthur looked around calmly.

The ocean had returned, for the most part at least, to its previous state, as though the world itself was slowly trying to heal its wounds.

Arthur let out a long breath.

"Bastard… even in his final moments, he didn't let me drain him completely."

He slightly clenched his fist as he continued:

"When he realized he was going to die, he didn't panic, nor did he try to fight desperately… instead, he began redistributing his power back into his own world."

With this act, Bokrog secured one thing:

His world would continue to exist.

It would not collapse, nor would it perish anytime soon.

When Bokrog sensed Arthur draining his power from within, he could have killed him.

He could have forced him out and crushed him.

But—

Bokrog was a warrior.

And one of the great Ancients who carried an unbreakable pride.

He accepted the end of the battle.

He accepted his defeat.

But he did not let things end without leaving something behind.

Before he was completely drained, he released a large portion of his power and returned it to his world.

Because of that, Arthur obtained only half of his power, nothing more.

In theory, Arthur could have absorbed the power from the planet itself, since the world was still connected to Bokrog's body.

But that would have taken a very long time.

And Arthur…

Was not the kind of person who would wait for that.

He sighed quietly as he looked at Bokrog's corpse, then toward the vast horizon of his world.

That damned bastard…

He knew with absolute certainty that Bokrog possessed one final transformation.

A transformation that would have completely overwhelmed Arthur's power.

But using it would have meant draining his world until it was completely dry and dead.

And Bokrog did not do that.

For several reasons, the most important being—

He was not that kind of warrior.

"You were a true warrior… and worthy of respect, Bokrog.

I'll leave things here. Rest in peace."

Arthur grasped Bokrog's corpse and calmly dragged it toward the ocean.

He let it slip away and sink into the water.

The ocean had been the cradle of his birth…

And now, it had become the place of his death.

The corpse disappeared into the depths, and a faint smile appeared on Bokrog's face,

as though this battle, its ending, and everything he had gone through since meeting Arthur…

had been a true blessing to him.

"And now… how am I supposed to return?"

Before he could finish his thought, he felt a strange energy.

Actually, two energies.

One was rising from the ocean…

The other was directly in front of him, suspended in the air.

Arthur quickly raised his head.

A beautiful portal of light formed before him.

He turned toward the ocean, then stopped.

There was an egg…

About the size of a human head.

The egg was green, surrounded by a pure and tranquil aura.

It floated gently above the surface of the water.

Arthur immediately understood.

This was Bokrog's child.

He took a step backward.

His heart told him to take it…

But his mind hesitated.

Arthur had fought Bokrog,

and in his heart, he saw him as a warrior worthy of respect.

He did not want to tarnish the honor of warriors through theft or exploitation.

But—

The wind blew.

The ocean water shifted.

And the egg slowly slid forward until it stopped at Arthur's feet.

He looked at it…

Then at the ocean.

"If this is your decision… then I'll respect it, Bokrog."

Arthur calmly bent down and lifted the egg between his palms.

At that moment, he felt a gentle warmth and pure affection flowing from the egg into his heart.

Perhaps… someday.

He sighed, then leaped into the air, headed toward the portal, and passed through it.

---

"Kid! Are you alright?!"

Sung Jin-Woo rushed toward the site of the explosion that had occurred minutes earlier.

The scene before him was catastrophic.

Rubble, fire, and destruction were everywhere.

But despite all of that, Sung noticed that no one had died.

Everyone had suffered injuries, some severe and others minor, but there were absolutely no major casualties.

"What happened while I was in the dungeon?

What kind of entity could have done this?"

He heard movement beneath the rubble.

He rushed forward and quickly pulled away the rocks.

He found a child trapped beneath them and tried to move him…

But the child's body did not move.

He lifted more of the rubble, then froze in place.

The child's body was protecting three girls beneath him,

with a pure red dome surrounding them.

"Did he… protect them with his own body?

And did he awaken his power this way?"

Sung looked at the child's face.

Long black hair…

A small and delicate body…

It was Rath.

Before Bokrog appeared, when Arthur had gone to smoke, the girls had approached Rath to take pictures.

At that moment, Rath sensed an enormous danger.

And without thinking—

He leaped over the girls and created a pure blood barrier,

one of the techniques he had been able to use after becoming human.

He did not know it existed…

But his sacrifice had awakened it.

"Kid… can you hear me?!"

Sung placed his ear against Rath's chest.

No heartbeat.

"Rath… Sung."

A calm voice.

Sung turned around and saw Arthur standing behind him.

His clothes were torn,

and blood was quietly flowing from his body.

The exhaustion was obvious on his face.

"Arthur… what happened here?"

He did not answer.

He immediately rushed forward, took Rath from Sung's arms, and began pouring magical power into his body.

"Arthur! Stop! You'll kill him!"

"Damn… damn…"

Arthur stopped and thought quickly.

"Sung, do you still have the bottle I gave you?"

"Yes… why?"

"Give it to me. Quickly… please."

The bottle suddenly appeared in Sung's hand.

A miraculous healing potion.

Arthur had previously received it from Cain during the update phase.

One had been given to Kio…

And the other had been sent to Sung to keep.

He had intended to use it for Sung's father.

But now—

Rath was on the verge of death.

With a hardened heart, Arthur made his choice.

He opened the bottle and poured the liquid into Rath's mouth.

The energy gradually gathered…

Until all of his injuries were healed.

"Father… is that you?"

"You idiot… you really worried me."

Arthur smiled gently.

As for Sung—

He was stunned.

First:

The potion had completely healed Rath, even though his heart had stopped.

Thanks to the energy being poured into him, Rath recovered a portion of his former power…

A portion that kept him clinging to life.

And secondly—

"Arthur, you bastard… you have a son?!"

Sung shouted in shock.

Rath smiled childishly and raised his hand.

"You're Uncle Sung, right?"

Sung felt something warm press against his heart.

He smiled, picked him up, and placed him on his shoulders.

"Yes… I'm Uncle Sung."

Arthur sighed as he looked at the two of them.

A scene that looked like…

A real family.
