Faint ripples of light appeared around Sheena's body. A mysterious power began to flow.
That's right. She was calling out to Dialga and trying to connect with it.
Dialga?
Cynthia and Caitlin were stunned. What was going on?
Did Sheena really have a connection to the legendary Dialga?
"The Power of Overcoming is a very mysterious special ability. It can create a mental link between humans and Pokémon, even across different times and spaces," Damian explained softly to the two women.
Hearing that, both Cynthia and Caitlin were surprised. It was incredible.
This world really was amazing.
Neither of them had ever heard of the Power of Overcoming before.
As the Power of Overcoming kept spreading from Sheena, visible ripples of time began to tremble above the giant mountain of Michina.
A low dragon roar rang out. A Pokémon shining with diamond-like blue light slowly flew out of a vortex of time.
"It appeared!"
Cynthia's eyes narrowed. She had really summoned it.
The dragon's roar echoed around them. The huge blue Pokémon floated in midair. Its calm dragon eyes looked down at Sheena and the others.
It was Dialga, the Pokémon said to rule over time.
Its body was large, like a deep blue long-necked dinosaur with metallic parts. Light blue lines ran across its body. The pale blue glow around it gave it an indescribable sense of power.
Its pressure was calm, but heavy. Still, it was obvious Dialga had held back its aura. Otherwise, ordinary people would have struggled to breathe.
"Dialga, help me."
Sheena did not seem unfamiliar with Dialga. She bit her lower lip and spoke to it.
Dialga's dragon eyes calmly looked at Sheena, but it seemed to notice something. Its gaze shifted toward Damian.
This human...
"The Jewel of Life. Arceus's Jewel of Life is gone. Can you help me find it?" Sheena asked hopefully.
She truly had no clue where to start. After all, she did not even know when the Jewel of Life had been switched.
She did not even know which generation it had happened in.
She could only ask Dialga and Palkia for help. She hoped these two Legendary Pokémon had a way.
Dialga tilted its head slightly. A strange light flashed through its dragon eyes, then quickly faded.
It seemed to say something to Sheena through their mental link. Joy immediately appeared on Sheena's face.
"How is it?" Damian raised an eyebrow.
"Dialga says it can sense it. The Jewel of Life is still inside the temple," Sheena said in surprise and delight.
That was great. Thank God.
Finding out that the Jewel of Life she had protected was fake had made Sheena feel like her whole world had collapsed.
"That's good. Then you just need to search for it properly now," Damian said with a smile.
"Mhm. Thank you, Dialga." Sheena also let out a long breath of relief.
In the sky, after seeing that Sheena had no more questions, Dialga turned around, ready to return to its own time-space.
"Please wait, Dialga."
Dialga looked back at the human youth who had spoken.
A trace of interest appeared in Dialga's eyes. To be honest, out of all the humans present, the one it cared about most was this young man.
The reason it was willing to respond to Sheena was mainly because her ancestors had once had contact with Arceus, and her family had protected the Plates.
Otherwise, just having the Power of Overcoming might not have been enough for Dialga to care.
But this human youth was different.
He carried ties to many Legendary Pokémon. Among them, he even had connections to Kyogre and Rayquaza. Dialga found that rather unusual.
When Damian stopped Dialga, Cynthia and the other two looked at him in confusion.
"Can I ask you something?" Damian said.
Dialga did not answer. It simply kept looking at Damian.
But not leaving was the clearest answer. If it had not wanted to bother with him, Dialga would have ignored him and gone straight back into the time vortex.
"Has anyone ever traveled through time into the past?" Damian asked after thinking for a moment.
Travel through time? Was that even possible?
Cynthia was stunned, but then she quickly reacted. Looking at Dialga, the Pokémon that ruled over time, it suddenly did not seem so strange.
Dialga stared deeply at Damian.
"Time is the heaviest thing of all. No one should touch it."
A low, calm voice rang in the ears of Damian and the others through telepathy. There was no doubt this was Dialga speaking.

As the Pokémon that ruled over time, no one understood the weight of time better than Dialga.
It had watched over the river of time since the world was created. It had seen all the history of this world.
And because of that, it understood better than anyone how heavy time was, and how fragile it could be.
Traveling through time sounded mysterious and incredible, but it was not impossible. Still, Dialga would not allow it.
Because once someone succeeded, even changing one small thing in the past or future could completely alter history and the future.
"Not even in the future?" Damian asked thoughtfully.
Dialga was speaking in absolute terms. It was clearly treating this as a hard rule.
But Damian knew very well that this dragon was, in a way, a total hypocrite.
Because it could not stop the enraged Arceus, Dialga had sent Ash and the others back a thousand years to change history and affect the present.
Of course, that had been a desperate last resort.
Also, in the anime, Team Rocket from another world used the Red Chain to trap Dialga and Palkia. While trapped inside it, instead of thinking about how to escape, the two of them fought each other.
The damage to time and space even spread across the whole world. Humans and Pokémon were affected by time reversing. Pokémon turned back into Eggs, and people reverted to children.
Of course, that had been a special case because they were trapped by the Red Chain, but the fact that they fought each other in that situation was still hard to watch.
They did not stop to think about how badly their power could affect the world.
And besides, what if Arceus itself wanted to send someone into the past?
Damian doubted Dialga would dare interfere with someone Arceus favored.

Hearing that, Dialga's dragon eyes lit up again with a strange glow. Invisible ripples of time spread out.
Then Dialga seemed to see something, and it fell silent.
"Dialga?"
"The future... is another matter."
After a long pause, Dialga sank into deep thought. Then the way it looked at Damian became even stranger.
In truth, even as the Pokémon that ruled over time, Dialga could not clearly see all of the future. But it could still catch small glimpses of it.
And right now, it no longer had its Adamant Orb, so all it could see were a few fragments.

Dialga felt that maybe it had been too long since it last used the power of time. Maybe it had just seen something wrong.
"???" Damian looked at Dialga in confusion.
