Walking out of Erika's house, the mood between Charles Goodshow and Officer Jenny Mio was very tense.
It could only be said that this discussion ended poorly.
Goodshow truly had not expected Damian's ambition to be so vast. What did he mean by saying Team Rocket would deal with villain teams and ambitious individuals from now on?
Goodshow thought, "Isn't Team Rocket the biggest villain team right now?"
"President, I believe it is necessary to hold a new meeting to discuss this properly," Mio said.
"Damian's ambition is too massive. He clearly wants to stand above the League!"
The things the Kanto League couldn't do, Team Rocket would accomplish?
It sounded nice, but was it really that the League couldn't do them? The League could do those things; it was just that the League respected life more.
That was why there was no death penalty in the League's regulations. Facts showed that under the management of the Pokémon League, the world was peaceful.
While there were indeed ambitious people and criminal groups, under the League's pressure, no one truly went out to harm ordinary people.
At most, it was activities like stealing Pokémon.
However, what Damian said—having Team Rocket handle villain teams and bad people everywhere—would undoubtedly involve aggressive methods.
This simply did not follow the League's laws and rules.
"Yes, let's return first," Goodshow nodded.
For Goodshow, there were only two choices now: keep things as they were, or start a revolution.
But no matter which one he chose, having a force that stood as an equal to the League was definitely not a good thing in his eyes.
This was because Team Rocket clearly would not care about the League's laws or its existence. Since Damian, the leader, didn't care, would the subordinates he led care?
That was not even worth considering.
If this continued for a long time, it was hard to imagine what the future Team Rocket would become. They would be completely out of control.
But at least one thing was beneficial.
Team Rocket would no longer do things openly. For example, they wouldn't steal Pokémon from ordinary citizens or perform biological experiments.
Goodshow had already confirmed these two points with Damian.
Inside Erika's mansion.
"It looks like Goodshow isn't very satisfied," Caitlin said.
It was easy to see that Goodshow and Mio did not look happy when they left. That was enough to show that they were displeased.
"That's natural," Damian nodded as if it were obvious.
"No person in power would like an underground force that they cannot regulate, especially when that force clearly says it won't follow the laws."
Damian smirked.
He had understood long ago that his discussion with Goodshow would end badly.
Goodshow had come, of course, seeking reassurance. He wanted a commitment from Damian. That way, he could accept the existence of Team Rocket.
As long as Team Rocket didn't cross the line, it would be acceptable.
After all, in Alola, Hoenn, and Unova, the Team Rocket led by Damian was acting normally for now.
They just used some dishonest methods, but it wasn't unacceptable.
But Damian wanted to become the King of the Underworld and clearly didn't want to follow the League's rules. That was going too far.
Didn't that mean Team Rocket could do whatever they wanted and the League couldn't do anything? Then what was the point of the League's existence?
"But it doesn't matter. He will understand in the future."
Damian wasn't in a hurry. Anyway, Goodshow would understand once he realized the gap in strength between the two sides.
Damian just wanted to become a god who was not restricted and stood above everyone else. There was no problem with that at all.
Since that old man Goodshow didn't agree, he would experience some trouble later.
Then, Damian turned his gaze toward the world map in front of him.
"Sinnoh, Kalos, Galar, Paldea."
Damian looked at these four regions and started thinking. Currently, these were the only regions he hadn't visited yet.
Damian was actually conflicted. For him personally, he really could go to Paldea.
After all, Paldea had the Great Crater. There were too many treasures inside it.
There were Paradox Pokémon like Roaring Moon, Iron Valiant, Flutter Mane, Iron Hands, and Great Tusk, Koraidon and Miraidon, and the small turtle Terapagos sleeping in the deepest part of Area Zero.
A trip to Area Zero would definitely bring many rewards.
Plus, he could stop by Kitakami on the way to take Ogerpon, as well as Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, and Pecharunt.
So, going to Paldea would definitely be worth it. However, the main problem was that Paldea didn't have a villain team.
Was Team Star a real threat? Weren't they just a group of students who were bullied and then fought back?
But other regions weren't bad either. The Galar region had Eternatus and Calyrex, Glastrier, Spectrier, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, Regieleki, and Regidrago in the Crown Tundra.
And since Damian had already developed his strength, he didn't need to fear the combined efforts of Rose and Leon.
But it was still the same problem: Galar also didn't have any "colleagues" in the villain team business. It would be less entertaining.
Sinnoh and Kalos, on the other hand, did have "colleagues." The rewards in these two regions might not be as much as in Paldea or Galar, but there would definitely be entertainment.
Kalos had Hoopa. Hoopa alone could create many big scenes.
Sinnoh was even more special. Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf were there. Also, the Arceus who was truly invincible in the Pokémon world was in the Sinnoh region.
Caitlin seemed to understand that Damian was struggling to decide which region to visit. She did not offer her own opinion.
Anyway, she would agree to wherever Damian wanted to go. It made no difference to her.
"Caitlin, do you want to go home and have a look?"
Damian thought for a moment and asked Caitlin.
Caitlin was stunned for a moment. Then, a slight smile appeared on her face.
Caitlin hummed. "Mhm."
After staying in Kanto for about another week, Damian was inside the base in Lavender Town.
"As expected of you, Dr. Fuji. I didn't think you would actually make it."
Damian looked at the Mega Stone in his hand. He couldn't help but praise the tired Dr. Fuji.
That's right. The Mega Stone for Shadow Mewtwo had been successfully made.
"It's thanks to the help of Mewtwo and Colress. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been this fast," Dr. Fuji said.
Dr. Fuji shook his head. The reason they could finish so quickly was that the preparation work had been done long ago.
It was just that Damian had been away with Shadow Mewtwo before, so the doctor couldn't get accurate data or perform on-site experiments with Shadow Mewtwo.
During this recent time, with the help of Shadow Mewtwo and Colress, the progress was naturally very fast.
"Dr. Fuji is being too humble. I didn't help much," Colress said with a smile.
"Let's try it out first," Dr. Fuji said to Damian. Although there were basically no problems, what if something happened?
"Alright." Damian nodded.
Damian looked at Shadow Mewtwo.
Purple flames flickered in Shadow Mewtwo's eyes, showing its current emotions.
The Mega Stone floated up and gradually vanished into Shadow Mewtwo's body.
Damian picked up the Key Stone and pointed it at Shadow Mewtwo. A bright light of evolution began to flash on Shadow Mewtwo's body.
Mega Evolution.
It worked.
Erika's and Caitlin's eyes lit up. Without a doubt, this was the sign of a successful Mega Evolution.
The Mega Evolution didn't take long. After a moment, the light faded, and a Pokémon that was much smaller in size appeared on the spot.
"Is this... a success?" Erika asked.
Erika looked at Shadow Mewtwo in front of her with some shock.
Its body was much smaller than before. If the old Shadow Mewtwo looked like an adult, the current Shadow Mewtwo felt like a child.
Its eyes still flickered with purple flames. The strange golden stone was still stuck in its right shoulder. The appendage extending from the back of its head was much longer than its own body.
It looked much more like Mew now, but its entire body was still pitch black.
"Mewtwo, how do you feel?" Damian asked.
The corners of Damian's mouth slowly curled up. Of course, it was a success. This was exactly Shadow Mega Mewtwo Y.
"Very... good," Shadow Mega Mewtwo Y replied.
Shadow Mega Mewtwo Y looked down at its arm. The flames in its eyes moved.
"Damian, right now, I am very strong."
Shadow Mega Mewtwo Y's telepathy seemed younger. It lost the tone it had before.
Power. It felt a constant stream of power.
It even had a feeling that if it used its psychic powers slightly, it could lift a giant mountain. If it used its Confusion freely, it could turn a mountain into ash.
This kind of power made it feel fascinated.
"That's good," Damian nodded with satisfaction.
He also remembered the Pokédex description for Mewtwo Y.
Although its body has become smaller, its power is so great it cannot be measured. With just a little psychic power, even high-rise buildings will be turned to ash.
"Damian, but I feel that Mewtwo's potential has not been fully explored yet," Dr. Fuji said to Damian.
"During the experiment, I found that Mewtwo has another possibility. However, because of the time limit, I only researched one side for now."
Dr. Fuji hadn't changed his opinion of Damian. It was mainly because Shadow Mewtwo and Colress had participated in the research together; they would have surely noticed this point too.
"Then I'll have to trouble you to continue, Dr. Fuji. However, I'm about to leave Kanto again soon," Damian said.
"It's fine. The experimental data is basically complete. It won't be long before the other evolution stone can be made," Dr. Fuji nodded.
"When this work is over, I will have nothing more to do with Team Rocket."
"Of course. I have always kept my promises," Damian smirked.
Dr. Fuji looked at Damian's face and sighed in his heart. He could only hope it was truly like that.
Otherwise, what else could he do?
At least his Pokémon House was doing well now because of the supplies sent by Team Rocket.
Shadow Mewtwo could now Mega Evolve, which was a huge boost to Damian's strength. Therefore, Damian was in a very good mood.
"If we go to Sinnoh this time, I still have to bring Zinnia along," Damian said.
In a villa in Saffron City, Damian was thinking about the people he would take with him.
He decided to take both Zinnia and Gladion. Colress and N would stay behind to protect Kanto.
After all, in a sense, the talk with Goodshow had failed. The Kanto League would very likely take action soon.
So, the Kanto branch of Team Rocket needed powerful people to stay behind. N had Zekrom. Even against Lance, he wouldn't be afraid for a short time.
As for Colress, he preferred to stay in the lab to do research, so Damian let him be.
"The Berlitz family? I heard Cynthia has already caught the people who were involved in that matter back then," Caitlin said.
Caitlin thought back for a moment.
"It's pointless. Zinnia needs to go and get justice for herself. And... I heard that a girl with terrifying talent was born in this generation of the Berlitz family, right?" Damian asked.
"Yes. I remember she is called Platinum Berlitz," Caitlin replied.
As someone from Sinnoh, Caitlin did have a good understanding of the Berlitz family.
After all, as the most prestigious family in the Sinnoh region, the Berlitz family was far too famous.
Although the Berlitz family didn't have any powerful trainers at this stage, many members of the family were famous scholars. They still held a very high status in Sinnoh.
In particular, Mr. Berlitz and his wife were both famous scholars, and Platinum was their daughter.
Even Professor Rowan had close ties with the Berlitz family because Mr. Berlitz was Professor Rowan's assistant.
"Perhaps... we can get a new partner with great potential," Damian smirked.
