The phone keeps ringing.
Bael reaches for it without pulling out, which is disorienting enough that I don't process what's happening until he's already speaking.
"Yes." Pause. "I see. Give me five minutes."
He hangs up, looks down at me still sprawled across his desk, and smirks.
Then he pulls out.
