They stepped into the house together.
Carrie set her purse down. "I'll order food. No need to figure all this out on an empty stomach."
Everyone agreed.
Clark turned to Sarah. "Can you come to my room? I need to talk to you."
She nodded then followed him to the room.
"Clark… you've been silent since the car ride. Everything go ok with your implant?"
He smiled and nodded.
"I activated my implant and there's something about my ability i need to talk to you about."
Her eyes softened. "Okay. What is it?"
They closed the bedroom door behind them.
Clark took a deep breath.
"My ability is unique..."
He begun explaining everything Cultivation World, he different dimension, Immortallity, his bloodline, cultivation refinement, The genius traits.
Everything...
Except one thing.
When he finished, Sarah sat quietly for a moment.
"Wow…" she whispered. "That sounds incredible. A whole new world. Immortality. "
She smiled faintly. "You might actually become immortal."
Then her smile faded..."I wish I could go with you."
The sadness in her voice made his chest tighten.
Clark stepped closer caressed her cheek.
"There is a way."
Her eyes lit up.
"There is?"
He nodded slowly.
"But… there's a catch."
The hope in her eyes faded a little.
"What kind of catch?"
Clark hesitated.
"I have 1 more ability I can choose a Dao Companion… our souls will become permanently linked. We'd walk the cultivation path together. You'd inherit my bloodline abilities. But our souls and fate would be permanently linked."
Silence filled the room.
Clark's voice softened.
"So what I'm asking is… Do you want to explore the Cultivation World with me? And be my soulmate?"
Sarah looked into his eyes. Then her lips curved into the softest smile.
"I don't care if our souls are linked or if we die together. I just wanna be with you so my answer is.. yes. I would love to walk that world and this one with you. Forever."
She laughed lightly. "I was hoping you'd propose after graduation. But this? This is even better."
Clark froze.
"…Propose?"
Slowly, almost nervously, he walked to his dresser.
Opened the drawer.
Pulled out a small ring box.
Sarah's eyes widened with surprise.
"I was going to wait," he admitted. "But if we're binding our souls and traveling across dimensions together … I might as well go ahead"
He opened the box. Got down on one knee.
"Will you be my wife in this world… and my soulmate in the next?"
Tears welled in her eyes.
"Yes."
She held out her hand.
Clark slid the ring onto her finger.
It fit perfectly.
Clark stood up and they stood in silence.
Then Clark whispered.
"There's one thing left."
He stepped forward.
Wrapped his arms around her.
And kissed her.
The instant their lips touched.
"Activate Dao Companion."
Golden light erupted between them.

Sarah and clark began feeling energy build up inside them. Then they felt the energy flowing into each other's bodies.
Sarah gasped.
"Clark!"
A pulse of energy surged outward.
The lights in the room flickered.
She stumbled backward, clutching her head.
"It hurts!"
Clark's heart nearly stopped.
"What's happening?!"

Sarah screamed. "AHHHH"
Sarah's body was glowing a golden hue.
Then...
Silence.
She lowered her hands slowly.
The pain was gone.
Clark rushed to her side.
"Sarah? Are you okay?"
She blinked.
"I... think its over."
She looked down at her hands.
Then back at him.
"I feel… different."
"How?"
She hesitated.
"I don't know. It feels like something dormant in my body woke up."
Just as clark was about to respond...
The door burst open.
Carrie and Samuel stood there.
"What happened? We heard a scream!"
Clark took a deep breath.
"I need to explain."
He gave them a brief explanation about dao companion and his ability. He also told them about his proposal.
He promised to explain everything in more detail at dinner.
His parents exchanged looks.
They left quietly.
In the hallway Carrie clutched Samuel's arm.
"He proposed! I've been waiting for this"
Carrie's eyes shimmered. "I cant believe he awakend an ability that let Sarah also have abilities."
Samuel nodded.
"Yeah mythical rank abilities definitely live up to their name."
Carrie grinned. "We're planning a big wedding. I can't wait"
Samuel laughed softly. "Yep the biggest."
Back inside Clarks room he was looking at her head to toe.
"Are you sure your ok that was a pretty serious scream?"
She smiled gently.
"Yeah don't worry it was a flash of pain that went away as fast as it came."
Carrie yelled out "Foods here."
The walk down the hall and headed for the dining room.
