"Your Highness…" Aria's gaze shifted away uncomfortably.

Caspian's gaze turned icy at the sight of Leander
What were they here for? Together?
The iron cuffs bit into Aria's wrists as the guards forced the both of them against the damp stone wall near the cellar entrance.
"Touch the duchess and I'll snap your wrist," Leander growled.
Oil lamps still swung overhead, casting long, jagged shadows across the scattered packages and overturned tables. The air reeked of bitter herbs
"Wait." Caspian raised a hand as his men parted.
"Be careful your Majesty."
His boots sounded on the steps.
He descended first.
Despite her desire look to away, Caspian looked like a man who had not slept properly in weeks. His dark hair was slightly longer than court fashion allowed, falling across a face that had grown leaner, almost gaunt.
