Aria stumbled out of the way, her golden hair doing nothing to shield the brilliant sunlight from her eyes.
Nearby, a horse waiting to be offloaded neighed loudly, rearing back.
Zelda hissed and skittered away from the horse startled by the unusual golden cat.
"Zelda!"
The cat ran into her outstretched arms, hissing at the horse as Aria placated her with a head pat, looking around.
"But where are we....?"
"Vermillion idiot! where do you think??! Get out of my way!" A burly man hauling sacks of grain yelled as Aria stumbled out of the way as he continued.
"So early yet already drunk like these damn shippers, hoarding the routes and clogging our bars...."
"Vermilion? We're in Vermilion??! Leander's-"
The barge's horn blasted a low, mournful note as it docked at the bustling Vermillion river-port of Kharid.
