Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: The Naboo Audit and the Trill of the Cyan Light

The transition into 122 BBY was, by Revan Shan's estimation, an exercise in aesthetic continuity. Coruscant remained a glittering circuit board of gold and durasteel, and the Jedi Temple remained a sanctuary of quiet chants and high-minded meditation. For Revan, the start of the new year meant one thing: the ledger of his life was officially entering its 92-year countdown to the Naboo crisis.

He lay horizontally in his hammock, suspended between two aromatic Ch'hala trees in the Temple's most secluded garden. His hands were tucked behind his head, and a pair of dark, polarized sunglasses masked his eyes. To any passing Master, he looked like a localized anomaly of laziness. To Revan, he was conducting a Planetary Ecology audit of the sunlight's efficiency on his current mood.

"You know, Cortana," Revan murmured, the 12th Doctor's dry rasp coloring his voice, "most people treat time like a straight line. A boring march toward a predictable end. But according to my 6th Doctorate in Advanced Dimensional Mechanics, it's more like a giant, swirling pool of tea. 122 BBY is just a new leaf floating on the surface. And I've decided to let it steep."

"The Kyber-Quantum computers are currently processing the data from the Jedha hideout, Revan," Cortana replied through his gauntlet's localized speaker. "And while you 'steep,' I should remind you that HK-47 is currently attempting to 'kindly' reprogram the Temple's maintenance droids to recognize the high council's robes as 'statistically significant fire hazards'."

Revan chuckled, popping a lemon candy. "He's just being enthusiastic. Adventure is the journey, Cortana. And today, the journey involves not moving until the sun hits the fountain."

The Ancestor's Echo: Jar'Kai and the Symphony

An hour later, the "nap audit" was concluded. Revan retreated to a private training chamber—a vault he'd secured using a bit of cheeky Mechu-deru on the security locks. He activated his Personal Holocron, and the flickering bronze image of his ancestor, Revan, materialized in the center of the room.

"Ancestor," Revan said, bowing with a sassy flourish. "I was thinking of practicing the transition between the fluid defense of Form III Soresu and the chaotic release of Form VII Juyo. My Advanced Mathematics tells me the kinetic transfer is efficient, but my gut tells me it's going to look messy."

The holographic Revan looked at him with a gaze that felt as sharp as a lightsaber's edge. "Your math is a cage, descendant. You calculate the trajectory of the blade before you even ignite it. Juyo is not a formula. It is a feeling. It is the internal audit of your own passion, channeled without being consumed. You must learn to hear the symphony of the Force, not just count the notes."

"I have eleven doctorates, ancestor. Counting notes is what I do," Revan quipped, igniting his Balanced Purple and Natural Red blades.

For the next two hours, the room became a blur of violet and crimson. Revan moved with a preternatural fluidity, utilizing Force Enhance to blur his physical form. He didn't use his Westars; he relied on the "feeling." When the Holocron-Revan projected phantom opponents, Revan didn't calculate their mass; he felt the weight of their intent.

By the end of the session, Revan was breathless but centered. The Force wasn't just a tool; it was a rhythmic constant. He deactivated his blades and bowed.

"Better," the ancestor conceded. "The Auditor is finally learning to trust the balance."

The Storyteller and the Shadow Tag

By mid-afternoon, Revan was back in the public eye. Or rather, he was the center of a very small, very loud orbit. He sat on a stone bench near the Room of a Thousand Fountains, surrounded by a dozen Initiates.

"And so," Revan said, his voice dropping into a conspiratorial whisper as he told them a tale of a scavenger who found a ship made entirely of candy, "the Scavenger King realized that his adventure was ending because he'd eaten the hyperdrive. The moral? Never eat your transportation. It's statistically unsound."

"Try to be nice and do good!" a small Togruta initiate shouted.

"But...?" Revan prompted with a wink.

"Never fail to be kind!" they chirped in unison.

"Brilliant," Revan grinned, distributing lemon candies. "Now, go on. We have ten minutes before the 'Shadow Tag' session begins. If you catch me, I'll tell you how to bypass a standard Republic door-lock using nothing but a wire and a bit of 'feeling'."

The ensuing game of Shadow Tag was a localized riot. Revan utilized Force Meld and Force Jump to stay one step ahead of 35 shrieking younglings, somersaulting over Master Sskeer's head and disappearing into the rafters. To the Council, it was a disruption of order. To Revan, it was the best audit of his reflexes he'd had all week.

The Secret Mission: An Audit of Naboo

The playfulness was cut short by a message from Grandmaster Yoda. Revan found the ancient Master in the High Council chamber, which was empty save for the flickering holographic displays of the Mid-Rim.

"Knight Shan," Yoda rasped, his eyes watching the Maverick with a piercing intensity. "Observe, I must. Naboo... a world of art and peace, it is. But a ripple, I feel. Tensions over the plasma trade, rising they are. Master Sol, busy with the acolytes, he is. Go, you shall."

"An observation mission? You want me to play the tourist, Master Yoda?" Revan asked, leaning against a chair with a sassy grin. "I have a 2nd Doctorate in Planetary Ecology. I can tell you if the swamps are healthy, but politics? That's just mismanaged math."

"Precisely why go, you must," Yoda cackled, tapping his cane. "An Auditor's eye, you have. See the things others do not, you will. Silent, you must remain. A shadow in the royal court, be."

"I don't do 'silent' very well, but I do 'maverick' brilliantly," Revan said, bowing. "I'll take the Black Pearl. I've been meaning to audit the Naboo spice-latte scene anyway."

The Theed Glitch and the Sonic trill

The Black Pearl arrived over Naboo in a state of absolute stealth. The Automatic Stealth Generator was tuned to the planet's background radiation, making the freighter look like a stray cloud on the royal scanners. Revan touched down in the verdant hills outside Theed, the capital city.

Leaving HK-47 and Chopper to "kindly" guard the ship, Revan made his way into the city. He wasn't wearing his armor; he was dressed in high-quality Naboo linens, though his black Phrik-weave robes were folded into a travel satchel along with his Sonic Screwdriver.

Theed was a masterpiece of stone and water, but the Force felt... tight. The royal court was in an uproar. King Veruna was holding an emergency session with representatives from the InterGalactic Banking Clan—men who smelled of Hego Damask's influence.

Revan slipped into the palace, utilizing Force Meld to move unseen through the ornate hallways. He found the source of the "ripple" in the high-security diplomatic archives. A massive, ancient databank containing the royal plasma-pricing ledgers had suffered a catastrophic logic-failure.

"A digital cardiac arrest," Revan muttered, pulling out his Sonic Screwdriver. "According to my 9th Doctorate in Advanced Mathematics & Logic Programming, this isn't a glitch. It's a deliberate lock-out. Someone wants the King to sign a trade deal without seeing the actual numbers."

A group of Naboo technicians and a protocol droid were hovering over the console, panic in their eyes. The Trade Federation representatives were already approaching the doors.

"Excuse me, sorry, just passing through," Revan said, stepping out of the shadows with a sassy grin. Before they could protest, he aimed the Silver-Phrik device at the console.

Whirrr-vwoop-trill.

The tip flared a brilliant cyan. The Sonic Screwdriver began to sing, its frequency harmonizing with the databank's fractured logic-gates.

> Revan utilized the Sonic to bridge the broken circuits, bypassing the Sith-coded encryption that had locked the files. He wasn't just fixing a machine; he was auditing a crime.

The console turned from a flashing red to a steady, calm green. The ledgers appeared on the screen—showing a 30% hidden tax that would have bankrupted Naboo within a decade.

"There you go," Revan told the stunned head technician. "The math was a bit untidy, so I've corrected the ledger for you. I'd suggest the King reads page forty-two before he signs anything. It's a real page-turner."

Before they could ask who he was, Revan utilized a localized Force Repulse to knock out the security cameras, then vanished back into the shadows.

The Journey Continues

Revan sat on the balcony of a small cafe in Theed, sipping a latte and watching the sunrise over the waterfalls. He had successfully "observed" the court, solved a diplomatic crisis with a toy, and identified the first true shadow of Darth Plagueis's financial war.

"Adventure is the journey, D6," Revan said into his comms. "And the journey just told me that Naboo is going to be a very interesting place to watch for the next century. But for now... I think I've earned a nap."

"Revan," Cortana's voice came through. "Master Yoda is asking for your report."

"Tell him the swamps are lovely, the King is safe, and the math on Naboo is finally adding up," Revan grinned, popping a final lemon candy. "I'm heading back. I hear the younglings have been practicing their pincer maneuvers, and I'm in the mood for another game of Shadow Tag."

The Black Pearl lifted off from the Naboo hills, a silver ghost in the velvet dark. 122 BBY was just beginning, and the Maverick was ready for whatever ripple the Force decided to send his way. He wasn't the hero, and he wasn't the guardian. He was the Auditor. And the books were finally starting to balance.
