Looking up towards the other side of the field Edward saw Alice who was just about to pass the last base.

Alice, on the other hand, wasn't happy. She ran across the last base and stopped.
A displeased frown had appeared on her face.
She was annoyed.
Why were they so fast this time, are they targeting me?
She walked sulkily towards Silas, when she arrived she gave him a hug.
"Don't worry, I'll avenge you." Silas said lightly in her ear.
Alice felt Silas's strong hands on her back and nodded.
"I'm fine, just annoyed, I also wanted to contribute to our win."
Silas smiled.
"Don't worry, you definitely are."
Alice looked up at him and gave his lips a light kiss.
"Alright, go and score us a point."
Silas let out a chuckle as he walked over to the batter position.
He picked up the bat from the ground, he weighed it slightly in his hand.
It had a nice weight to it, it seemed to be aluminum.

The grip was nice and grippy, maybe even slightly sticky. For maximum grip.
He threw it up in the air spinning it then it came down with the hitting end downwards.
He took his index finger and pushed the bat upwards again making it spin.
This time the grip lined up perfectly with his hand, and he caught it.
Emmett, who was standing on the side, was practically vibrating with excitement.
He was gonna see how good his brother really was.
That little show off move was already raising the bar, Silas had to be good.
Silas looked over at Carlisle who had just gotten his hand on the ball.
He looked provokingly at Carlisle and swung the bat a couple of times.
The meaning was clear: I'm ready, and I'm waiting for you.
Carlisle smiled and got in position.
He moved his left leg forward and gripped the ball tightly.
Then he twisted his torso towards the right as he lined up his arm.
This was gonna be the throw of his life.
You could practically grip the tension in the air, that's how thick it was.
You couldn't hear a single breath, nor heartbeat.

Carlisle twisted his body in perfect harmony, and with perfect timing moved his arm forward, throwing the ball through the air.
A sharp whistling sound echoed through the field and the forests.
Everyone was debating inside their minds if Silas could hit that ball.
Silas on the other hand, was much more relaxed.
The ball was fast, sure. But to him it moved in slow motion.
With his eyes, and divine sense he could easily see its trajectory.
He gripped the bat tightly, making a slight squeaking sound.
He was ready!
Most of the force came from timing, sure you could swing as hard as you could.
But… if you wanted the best baseball swing, you needed to combine the twist of your ankle, with the twist in your hips.
So you generated the energy from your toes all the way to the bat.
With an explosively loud sound the bat hit the ball, sending it flying through the air.
The second Silas felt the bat hit the ball and the ball fly away, he dropped the bat and ran.
The soft mud beneath his feet sank as he pushed off.
Before anyone knew it he was already at first base, the wind whistling past his ears.
The trees rustled as he swooshed past them.
Ball!? Yes, the ball!
The defenders looked at the ball flying towards the forest.
Edward quickly chased after it, they couldn't let Silas score.
The ball spun rapidly in the air, wooshing past tree after tree.
Finally it started its descent.
It tumbled through the leaves, causing its direction to change.
It bounced against tree trunks sending Edward on a wild hunt.
He was like a rabid dog chasing after its tennis ball, just that in this case it was a baseball.
Edward was even close to hitting a few trees, he had already smashed through a few bushes and low hanging branches.
Finally he got his hands on the ball.
A small smile spread on his face, he turned around and threw it towards the field.
Jasper was already waiting at the edge of the forest.
The ball made a high curve trajectory in the air, avoiding all trees and to then rapidly descend towards Jasper.
He reached up his hands and with a light jump caught the ball.
Jasper used the residual force in the jump to twist mid air and sending the ball flying towards Ella who was at first base.
Sadly it was too late.
Silas had already arrived at the last base, he passed it and made a quick stop.
The mud beneath his feet gave way, causing him to slide forward by inertia.
When he came to a stop, two small ditches had been made by his feet.
Emmett heard Ella yell "out!" and breathed a sight of relief.
Silas was indeed his good brother, he made a lap with time to spare.
Alice was even more excited, she ran over and hugged him, then gave him a big kiss on the lips.
"Are you that happy I scored a point for us?" Silas asked incredulously as Alice separated her lips from his.
Alice hugged him tighter and nodded.
"I'm proud, you've broken the record, no one has made a lap and passed the last base with that much time to spare."
Silas laughed.
"Haha, only this much made you so happy?"
"Do you have any other records for me to break?" Silas asked teasingly.
Alice pouted.
"Stop teasing me."
Emmett who was spectating all this felt sick.
His brother was good in every way, except his public display of affection.
Can't they do this stuff in private?
He and Rosalie always did.
A frown took shape between his brows.
Now that he thinks about it… is that bad? Does Rosalie feel embarrassed over him?
He looked over at Rosalie who was glaring at him.
Hmm… no way, right?
"Alright, are we ready for the next one?" Carlisle shouted.
Silas patted Alice's back.
"Let's get back to the game, the win now hangs by one point."
"If Esme makes this lap, then we win."
Alice grabbed his hand and pulled him towards Esme who were making a few practice swings at the batter position.
"Esme, are you ready?" Alice asked as they approached.
"You need to score this lap, so we can win!"
Alice looked inspirational with her clenched fist and encouraging expression.
She really wanted to win.
Esme let out a laugh.
"Ha, but no pressure, right?"
Alice narrowed her eyes.
"Right…"
Just then her head snapped towards the tree line.
"Someone's coming!"
