The name echoed through the crystal courtyard long after Luke spoke it.
The Sanctuary at the Edge of Dawn.
Ancient guardians exchanged uneasy glances while the Father of All stood motionless beneath the fractured skies, deep in thought.
Even the Spirit Guide looked unsettled.
Because that name belonged not merely to legend…
but to a place erased from history itself.
Lucien was the first to break the silence.
"The Edge of Dawn was destroyed before the First War."
The Father of All slowly shook his head.
"That is what the realms were meant to believe."
Luke blinked.
"So it still exists?"
The ancient being looked toward the distant heavens.
"Yes."
The answer sent tension rippling through the courtyard instantly.
The Spirit Guide lowered its massive head thoughtfully.
I have not heard that name spoken since the age of the architects…
Luke looked between them anxiously.
"What is it exactly?"
For a moment, nobody answered.
Then Celestia's mother stepped closer quietly.
"It was the first sanctuary ever created for Balance," she explained softly. "Older than Heaven. Older than Hell. Older than the laws governing the realms."
Luke's eyes widened slightly.
"It stood at the edge of creation itself," she continued. "Where dawn first touched existence."
As she spoke, faint golden visions formed around the courtyard, ancient towers of crystal and gold floating above endless oceans of light while celestial rivers crossed the skies like flowing stars.
Luke stared in awe.
"It's beautiful…"
"It was," the Father of All corrected gently.
The visions darkened suddenly.
Luke saw war erupting across the sanctuary. Primordial shadows crashing against ancient barriers. Architects falling beneath waves of chaos. Entire skies burning black.
"The sanctuary became the final battlefield during the war against the Primordials," the ancient being continued heavily. "To prevent the Heart of Creation from falling into chaos, the architects sealed the sanctuary beyond reachable reality itself."
Lucien folded his arms tightly.
"And nobody has found it since."
"No," the Spirit Guide answered quietly. Because the sanctuary does not remain in one place anymore.
Luke frowned.
"What does that mean?"
The dragon's silver eyes glowed softly.
It drifts through fractured creation like a hidden star. It reveals itself only when Balance calls for it.
Luke instinctively touched the pendant around his neck.
The crescent artifact pulsed warmly beneath his fingers.
The Father of All noticed immediately.
"Which means Celestia may have unknowingly carried the key to finding it all along."
Lucien's expression darkened with emotion again at the mention of her name.
Luke looked down quietly.
"Mum really knew this would happen…"
The Spirit Guide stared toward the horizon thoughtfully.
Perhaps not fully. But she clearly sensed something coming.
Suddenly, a violent tremor shook the sanctuary again.
CRAAAAACK.
A massive fracture spread across the skies overhead, larger than before.
This time, everyone saw it clearly.
Beyond the crack… darkness moved.
Ancient. Living. Watching.
Several neutral guardians stepped backward in visible fear.
Luke's golden aura reacted instantly, flaring protectively around him.
The Father of All looked upward grimly.
"Vaelthoros grows stronger."
Then another guardian rushed into the courtyard urgently.
"The outer sanctuaries are collapsing!"
The entire courtyard erupted into tension again.
"Primordial corruption is spreading through the lower currents faster than we can contain it!"
Lucien cursed under his breath.
"At this rate, entire mortal regions will destabilize within days."
The Spirit Guide suddenly stepped toward Luke.
Then we leave immediately.
Everyone turned sharply.
Lucien frowned.
"Now?"
Every moment we waste strengthens the Primordials, the dragon growled. The Heart of Creation may already be reacting to the collapse.
The Father of All slowly nodded.
"The Spirit Guide is right."
Luke's chest tightened slightly.
This was really happening.
The journey was beginning now.
Not tomorrow.
Not after more preparation.
Now.
The neutral sanctuary moved swiftly once the decision was made.
Ancient maps were gathered. Realm pathways stabilized temporarily. Protective blessings were carved into traveling robes and weapons.
Luke barely had time to process everything happening around him.
One moment he was staring at visions of his mother…
—and the next he stood at the edge of the largest realm gate within the sanctuary.
The gate towered above them like a massive ring of living crystal covered in glowing ancient runes. Beyond its center swirled unstable currents connecting distant realms together.
Luke swallowed nervously.
Beside him stood Lucien, Celestia's mother, the Spirit Guide, and several neutral guardians chosen to accompany them through the outer pathways.
The Father of All approached Luke one final time.
"You must remember something during this journey," he said quietly.
Luke looked up attentively.
"The Heart of Creation cannot be claimed through strength alone."
Luke frowned slightly.
"Then how?"
The ancient being's expression softened.
"It responds to truth."
The words confused him.
But before Luke could ask further questions, the pendant around his neck suddenly glowed again.
The realm gate reacted instantly.
Golden currents exploded across the massive crystal ring as ancient pathways hidden for ages slowly awakened.
The guardians stared in shock.
One by one, forgotten symbols lit up around the gate.
The Spirit Guide's eyes widened slightly.
The pathway… it's opening itself.
The swirling currents inside the gate shifted violently before stabilizing into a breathtaking golden pathway stretching beyond visible existence.
Luke stared at it in awe.
Far beyond the pathway… faint floating ruins shimmered within endless dawnlight.
The Sanctuary at the Edge of Dawn was calling them.
A horrifying roar echoed across all realms again.
This time closer.
Much closer.
The skies behind the sanctuary cracked open violently as colossal shadows moved beyond reality itself.
Vaelthoros had found the outer realms.
Lucien immediately drew his sword while infernal flames exploded around him.
"We move now!" he shouted.
The guardians rushed toward the gate immediately.
The Spirit Guide spread its wings protectively around Luke as the boy took one final look at the sanctuary behind him.
Home suddenly felt very far away.
Then together…
They stepped beyond the realms.
